It gives me great pleasure to officially unveil the project I have been working on since last Fall.
UBL - Universal Battle League - ogubl.proboards53.com/index.cgi?
For those who have not read it yet, I suggest checking out this past weekend's Voltage for part of the storyline set-up for the UBL. (I say part cause really the last 5-6 months of Voltage have led to this) Just read the spoilers for Match #3. But on a non-kayfabe note:
The UBL will have a bifurcated structure. The centerpiece of the UBL will be its two Championship leagues: the Universal Champion (singles) and the Universal Battalion (Tag). The two leagues will run at seperate times, allowing me to focus on one league at a time. The singles league will start in June and will feature 12 wrestlers in a round-robin league setup. Although only 11 wrestlers have been announced, I've had a 12th wrestlers ready for a while as a surprise that will be revealed at the next Voltage. In the meantime, the actual UBL schedule (with the 12th wrestler blanked out) is posted on the UBL site.
The second focus of the UBL is what I am calling "Open" shows. The explanation is pretty detailed so I posted a guide about it.. Suffice to say, these "Open" shows are going to give me a lot of flexibility in match making in contrast to the rigid league structure. Some "Open" shows will feature league talent, whereas others will feature UBL wrestlers not currently signed up for a league. I am calling those wrestlers "UBL Reserves". (a current example of one would be Jang Bae.)
"Open" shows will also feature wrestlers from other promotions: either through "offer" matches or crossbrand "dream" matches. Already I have made working arrangements with three other promotions (NDP, VWA, and BINGO-1) to feature their talent on UBL "Open" shows through either "offer" matches or crossbrand matches. I also managed to get two wrestlers from e-fedders onto the UBL Reserve list.
One note: While female wrestlers are not disinvited, UBL really isn't the intended place for them. And I already have OG-Joshi and LAWL for female wrestlers. There will be some intergender matches on "Open" shows in the future but they will be limited to preexisting stories with women that have relations to the ma in UBL roster. (examples would be Holly or Celes showing up cause of their connections to OrochiGeese, or Alicia Gordon cause of her connection to Jang Bae/Thunder Strike).
So yeah, take a gander at the UBL site and PM/ema il me if you guys are interested in participating. If not, then hopefully you can sit back and watch as I pump out many video matches involving a Roman Centurion, a hissing guy in a snake mask, and many other heroes of the e-fed universe
