"Debasement" Tour Finale Show – “ALL YOUR BASE”
Date: Friday, December 13, 2019
Location: "Peter Venkman Memorial Arena" in Westchester, New York.
*The crowd is on their feet chanting "ALL OUR BASE" - clearly attempting to wrest control over ubble's ownership of this trademark ... or, errr...expressing innocent enthusiasm at tonight's show! Which is it? Only Charles Langford can tell us for sure. But let's give the fans the benefit of the doubt, shall we? The show hasn't even started and we're assuming the worst! Looks like the Debasement tour left its mark on even this humble narrator! Will Mr. Beige find his smile again? Until we get an answer, let's go to the commentary booth where John Randolph, a more optimistic voice, is waiting for us.*
[John:] "Hello fans and welcome to 'ALL YOUR BASE' - the merciful end of the 'Debasement' tour spanning this past year. Tonight we also celebrate the 16th year Anniversary of the creation of OG-FPD. We can call it a Sweet 16. And we probably could have also called it a Quinceañera if we would have gotten a cross-promotional match with LAWL last year. But whatever you wish to name this special occasion, call your attention to tonight's card."
*The listing of matches appears on the screen and the BattleTron*
Universal Circuit Championship: Kurt Sanders vs. Tetsu Gushiken vs. THRASH Ogawa (c)
OG-Joshi: "ALL YOUR ACE" - Robin "Holly" Walker vs. Ruby Moreno
Universal Battalion Championship: Snakes on a Plane vs. El Exilio (c)
UBL Heavyweight Championship:"No Quarter" Cage Match: Agent 1 vs. Corey O'Brian (c)
UBL NEXUS Championship: Sirius Mask vs. Matthew Rivers (c)
*The camera goes back onto John.*
[John:] "What a momentous line-up of matches we have tonight. Not only is every active UBL Championship on the line, but we get to witness the return of OG-Joshi! That’s right, Jean Carter inherited OG-Joshi from Robin Walker after they both bamboozled Ruby Moreno on the October Debased show. As her friend and fan of OG-Joshi, I couldn’t be happier for Jean to have the well-deserved honor of ownership of this legendary promotion. And I couldn't be happier for myself and everyone watching tonight to have the honor of watching its first match back.
Originally, both Arthur and Drake offered OG-Joshi the main event spot for this show. But Jean very politely declined, saying that OG-Joshi can’t rest on its previous laurels and has to earn its way back to that type of card prominence. However, she is confident that they will put on a strong match tonight given the fact that Robin Walker facing Ruby Moreno is a dream match that is almost exactly 14 years in the making.
But we have five whole matches to get through tonight and I’ve been told that brevity is the soul of wit. So, unlike past Anniversary shows, I won’t be talking your ear off tonight. However, just in case you missed me all year long, I’ll be back as the voice for our next tour! For now, let’s get right to the action.
Universal Circuit Championship
[John:] "The battle for the new Universal Circuit Title has spanned the entire Debasement tour. At 'Lunar Eclipse of the Heart' last December, Tetsu Gushiken defeated Kurt Sanders in the finals of a Tournament to win the Championship. Despite Kurt's loss, he still managed to steal the physical Title. A contract for the rematch was immediately signed. Tetsu would grant Kurt a Title rematch if he brought back the belt. The two men jousted for close to 11 months while Tetsu also defended his Title against all comers. However, one such challenger unseated Tetsu for the Championship. The man who Tetsu beat in the semi-finals of the Tournament last year, THRASH Ogawa, decisively beat Tetsu during the October Debased show. So not only were Tetsu's hopes finally claiming his rightful belt dashed, but Kurt's rematch became uncertain as well. However, THRASH honored Kurt's rematch clause as long as he brought the Title and accepted Tetsu's participation as well.
We are going to have the first Triple Threat match for the Universal Circuit Title tonight under elimination rules. Security has also been posted near the entrance ramp to make sure that no one leaves with the Title who isn't Champion. I'm looking at you - members of 'Three of a Kind.' All men have entered the ring and are about ready for this match. Sanders blows snot rockets in both Tetsu and THRASH's directions. Tetsu ignores him while THRASH blows an even bigger snot rocket back at Kurt to the delight and laughter of the crowd. Kurt smiles as well, seemingly enjoying the attention. We'll see how much he likes their attention when the match begins and THRASH starts throwing far more lethal headbutts at him."

[John:] "THRASH Ogawa has successfully defended his Universal Circuit Title for the first time! And not only that, he has defeated Tetsu for the second time in a row with that vicious kick to the face. However, Tetsu gains yet another victory, and at least some more redemption, against Kurt by pinning him with his fisherman's suplex.
Tetsu Gushiken (O) [”Tetsu PLEX” – 18:25] (X) Kurt Sanders
Tetsu Gushiken (X) [”FACE KICK” – 21:44] (O) THRASH Ogawa
[John:] "What fans watching at home didn't see was Kurt Sanders trying to once again steal the Title belt! And he almost got away with it, if it wasn't for UBL head of security Thunder Strike!! No, Thunder didn't pull a mask off of Kurt, revealing him to be Old Man McGillicuddy: the owner of that old haunted Orochi-O's Amusement park. Rather, Thunder simply pushed Kurt, causing him to fall backward onto his butt and drop the title. When Kurt went to grab the title, Thunder stepped onto his hand, lifted the Title up, then simply walked away. It seemed that Kurt was either too shocked at this display or tired from the match to mount any type of follow-up.
Once the match was over, Thunder Strike came back down to ringside and personally handed the Universal Circuit Title belt to THRASH Ogawa to a significant wave of cheering from the crowd. You gotta hand it to this guy THRASH, he's a little rough around the edges, but the fans have taken a liking to his no-nonsense smash-mouth style. I'm not sure the feeling is mutual though given how he ignored their reaction, took the Title, and walked backstage."
"ALL YOUR ACE" - OG-Joshi Return Match
[John:] "Our next match of the night leans on a history for which I can not possibly do justice to. So I'm calling in an expert - someone who has dealt with both competitors and the new owner of OG-Joshi: Coach Jean Carter!"
*Jean Carter walks onto the entrance ramp in an 'ALL YOUR CATS ARE BELONG TO OG-JOSHI' shirt to raucous applause. She is smiling ear to ear and blows kisses to the fans before walking over to the commentary booth. John stands up and greets her with a hug and Jean sits down next to him.*
[John:] "Welcome Jean, it's certainty high time we got this commentary band back together."
[Jean:] "Omigawsh John! We haven't done this in years!"
[John:] "Eight, exactly. It's been eight years since we both signed off at OG-FPD Immortal. We never thought we would be back here calling a show like this, certainly not the return of OG-Joshi under your ownership."
[Jean:] "It's a dream come true in every sense of the word. Two words actually - dream and true."
[John:] "Sounds like we're getting an increasingly thorough Jean to lead the way."
[Jean:] "To get OG-Joshi up and running, I really have to be. And that's why you called me over here, right? Cause I know a whole lot about the reason our next match is about to happen. We have two former OG-Joshi World Champions in Robin and Ruby. We have two women who actually were the most hated in the entire promotion when they held those Titles too. But I'm not sure anyone hated them more than each other. I know that Arthur and Drake wanted us to move the action along, but I just gotta talk about this a little so people understand why we're calling this a dream match."
[John:] "And why this is the match you chose as OG-Joshi's official return."
[Jean:] "Darn tootin! To get a true idea of how this whole match came to be, we have to go back in time to 2005. But since Luke says the technology for time travel isn't ready or even guaranteed to work, I'll just have to take you there by painting what you like to call in journalism a word picture. See, this all goes back to 'Leesh' leaving L.A.W.L."
[John:] "W...what?"
[Jean:] "Alicia Gordon went from L.A.W.L. to OG-Joshi in 2005. Robin, who was back then known as Holly, and kinda still is depending on who is talkin' her up, took an instant dislike to Alicia. And you know, Robin talked to me about this a lot over the past few years. She regrets everything that she did to Alicia so much. So many of her most shameful moments happened cause of this hatred for Alicia which Robin even admits wasn't personal. Robin just wasn't her best self back then and lashed out at so many people, including myself. If Alicia wasn't as strong as she was, her career would have been ended within 6 months of joining the roster at the hands of a vicious attack by Juli Krieger. Robin was the one who orchestrated that attack. It absolutely started OG-Joshi off on the worst foot possible. But I'm getting a little off topic.
So back to it! Okay, so in order to push Alicia's buttons, Holly started insulting L.A.W.L. This upset a lot of wrestlers there, and for good reason. But no one took more offense than their newly crowned O.M.G. Champion, Ruby Moreno. The two traded words back and forth and even took their battle to the McPro promotion. They didn't actually wrestle there, but Holly's Orochi Army said some bad things about Ruby's Generation NEON to just make things worse. But it wasn't until Ruby became part of Destiny that it all got out of hand. She came to OG-Joshi, won the Championship and basically declared war on Holly and Geese. And even though Geese sold OG-Joshi to Ruby in order to get money to help Holly out of her coma-"
[John:] "Caused by Jakob of Furis."
[Jean:] "Who had gone without his medication for two years, John!"
[John:] "True, true..."
[Jean:] "Even though Ruby bought OG-Joshi, this just made her more determined to take revenge on Holly for trash-talking L.A.W.L. However, Geese and Holly both retired at this point and basically lived off the grid."
[John:] "Are there any truth to the rumors that you not only knew where they were, but that you and Luke actively lived with them for a period of years?"
[Jean:] "I mean, there's some truth in a lot of things but you can't butter a piece of toast, place it on a cat's back, drop them both, and expect truth to fall straight down without hovering for a little."
*A few seconds pass.*
[John:] "No, no you can't. I suppose that is true."
[Jean:] "Doncha know it! So even though Holly was retired, Ruby never let go of this vendetta that she had. Many of us believe that Destiny's war against UBL, which started right when UBL came back at Recrowned, was entirely because Ruby couldn't directly attack Geese and tried to lull him out of retirement instead."
[John:] "And we all saw what happened last year when Matt Rivers joined Destiny and attacked Geese."
[Jean:] "We all saw it but many of us would love to forget it. The thing is, that entire attack by Geese was led by Ruby and she did it just to get Holly to wrestle her. Ruby has wanted to wrestle and beat Holly since 2005 and Holly finally is facing her so they can put an end to this."
[John:] "But the stipulations of this match certainly go beyond a traditional wrestling match."
[Jean:] "Here's what happens if Ruby wins: Robin has to retire forever. Then she has to sell her farm and her remaining assets and give them all to L.A.W.L. She has to then announce that she is the worst thing to ever happen to professional wrestling. But the part we are all truly worried about is that Robin would then have to turn herself into the police for what she did to Diz...*Jean hesitates for a second* Diane Cavuto. Then she would have to plead guilty to attempted murder."
[John:] "But...was there ever an investigation? I'm not sure that admission even holds weight,"
[Jean:] "I don't know, but Robin agreed to do all that if she lost. If Ruby loses, then she has to take herself out of the lives of the Walkers, their friends and family, the entire UBL, and Ruby's sister Rose. She also has to leave Destiny and turn over all information about it to INTERPOL."
[John:] "Damn. So this is a life-changing match for at least one of these two competitors."
[Jean:] "It is life changing. But you know what, if you really take a look at Robin's stipulations for Ruby, it could be life-affirming. Everything that Robin is asking Ruby to do won't destroy her the way Ruby's demands would harm Robin. Well, except maybe for the INTERPOL part as who knows what Ruby has done."
[John:] "Given all the things we already do know about her, we can only imagine what we don't."
[Jean:] "Wait, you can imagine what you don't know? Do you then know it?"
[John:] "I...I don't know. But there are a few other questions that I'm also unsure of. If Ruby loses, does that mean she's off the OG-Joshi roster?"
[Jean:] "Actually, she isn't on it. When they made their deal for the match, the stipulation was that OG-Joshi hosted them, not that they wrestled for it. Originally, Ruby still owned OG-Joshi but she no longer does. Robin is on the roster. In fact, she's the first one I signed, much as she was the first one that Geese signed when he created OG-Joshi in 2004. Of course, back then, OG-Joshi was created just to give Robin a chance to get even with her former mentor, Jo Ryder. It's safe to say I have different plans!"
[John:] "Okay, so the next question that I have directly affects another match tonight. You said that if Ruby loses, she has to leave both Destiny and UBL. But what happens to all the other Destiny wrestlers on the roster: especially our NEXUS Champion, Matthew Rivers?"
[Jean:] "Since the deal was just between Robin and Ruby, everyone else is not affected. And everyone agreed that no one who holds a Title should be stripped of it and thrown off the roster as a result of this match. If Arthur and Drake want to fire all Destiny wrestlers, they could have done it already. I really don't think they will fire Rivers even if he loses tonight. As for the Monroes...ugh."
[John:] "Yeah, it's probably best not to talk about John given what we've seen in the past."
[Jean:] "I just want to mention one more thing. Like I said, if you really think about it, all of Robin's stipulations for Ruby weren't cruel. Robin just wanted Ruby and Destiny out of their lives. If Robin wanted to be cruel, she could have said something like Ruby had to leave L.A.W.L. as well, but she didn't. And if you ask me, I think that's because Robin knows what happens when you beat an enemy to within an inch of their hope: they just become more dangerous. She isn't telling Ruby to stop doing what she loves. And you know, I've learned to see the good in people. After all, Robin hated me and I wasn't her biggest fan for years but now we are like sisters. I believe there is something in Ruby that is good. I also believe that if she loses tonight, and I think she will, that she'll still have something to hold onto in her life by continuing to wrestle in L.A.W.L."
[John:] "And that's the Jean Carter we all know and love. That's why you're the Coach."
[Jean:] "I like that title better than 'Mean' - though I liked 'Mean' better than 'cupcake' which is what Robin used to call me. Now she calls me a bearclaw cause I can be fierce when I want to be."
[John:] "You've certainly proven that. So, do you think it's time?"
[Jean:] "I do!"
[John:] "Are you going to stay out here and watch the match?"
[Jean:] "I want to, I really do. But there's a lot of reasons I can't, and not just cause I'm the new owner. Robin knows I made sure that Destiny can't interfere in the match but I'm a possible distraction if they get to me. So while the match is taking place, I'm going to be watching from a safe room backstage."
[John:] "Thank you for joining us and giving us a true tale of the tape."
[Jean:] "Cats have tails and just to clarify, I am not in favor of taping toast to a cat's back like I talked about before. That was just like a crazy hypothetical. Kids - help cats!"
[John:] "I second that. Thank you, Jean. Always a pleasure."
[Jean:] "Enjoy the show, everyone!"
*Thunder Strike comes out and escorts Jean backstage.*
[John:] "Well, you heard it all, and I do mean all from Jean. We're about to have a match that hopefully ends a rivalry that has spanned fourteen years and three promotions. Whoever loses this match will never be the same again but the winner will get the type of closure one can only dream of. Folks, Robin "Holly" Walker is finally going to fight Ruby Moreno and you all have a front row seat. Welcome back, OG-Joshi."

[John:] “Ruby Moreno has been the primary thorn in the side of UBL since it returned in 2012. Robin Walker just forcefully plucked it out of our bodies and out of the lives of her family and close friends. After more than a decade, she has triumphed over not just her greatest rival, but her true nemesis."
Robin Walker (O) [”Muff Driver” – 17:13] (X) Ruby Moreno
[John:] And she did it in true ‘Holly’ style. Those who remember her OG-Joshi career, especially her World Championship reign which lasted several years, undoubtedly had a dose of nostalgia tonight. She clearly has the same resiliency and ability to end a match in the blink of an eye, but she had to work for it tonight.
Despite looking like she was going to roll to victory with some of her specialties like the reverse figure four and axe kick, Robin grew a little overconfident as the match went on. This led to her making a mistake in running the ropes too close to the turnbuckle and Moreno made her pay for it right after with a ’Ruby Cutter.’ After a second cutter, Ruby gad the audacity to use Robin’s own infamously named ‘Muff Driver’ against her.
Things looked very bleak for Walker fans and I still don’t know how Robin escaped before the count. It felt like time had stopped right before the referee’s hand hit the mat. However, Robin managed to kick out then blocked one of Ruby’s submissions which could have also ended the match. Then Robin showed how resourceful she still is, using the corner that Ruby placed her in to get the leverage to hit her own authentic ‘Muff Driver’ for the win."
*Both women remain on the ground with Robin sitting on the floor slumped up against the turnbuckle.*
[John:] "Well Ruby made her work for it, no question about that. I'm not sure what Robin's next move is. There's more than enough bad blood and I think everyone will feel relieved once these two are out of the ring."
*Robin slowly pulls herself up using the ropes and sees Ruby starting to move around again. After a few seconds, Ruby regains her awareness and sits up on her own. She stares at Robin who returns the look with interest.*
[John:] "It seems that neither of them really know how to handle this situation. Ironically, it's probably the first time they've ever seen eye to eye. Robin isn't celebrating or taunting and Ruby isn't lashing out."
*A woman with short blonde hair wearing a business suit walks onto the entrance ramp and slowly approaches the ring.*
[John:] "I think that is Megan Williams who is the personal assistant to Ruby. Some of you old school fans of UBL and OG-Joshi may remember her as Canada Meg, part of the 'Canada Brothers' stable."
*Megan holds up her hands and gestures to Ruby. Robin nods which brings Megan into the ring. She checks with Ruby to make sure she is okay, then asks another question which Ruby doesn't initially answer. She looks at Robin for a while, studying her. Then Ruby stands up on her own and says something to Megan. Megan reaches inside of her jacket pocket and pulls out a small box and an envelope which she hands to Ruby.*
[John:] "I don't know what this is but its delivery to Ruby seemed planned."
*Ruby slowly walks over to Robin. The crowd is completely silent.*
[John:] "Given how Matthew Rivers tricked Geese with a handshake last year, I'm not so sure Robin will trust a Destiny member bearing gifts. Even though Ruby has to honor her stipulations, that doesn't mean she isn't dangerous right now, especially with her completely healthy assistant in tow."
*Ruby starts to extend the gift to Robin but is given a pantomimed funny expression of disbelief as a response. Robin signals for Ruby to wait a second then calls for a microphone.*
[Robin:] "Okay, look, if this is some kind of haunted jack-in-a box from LAWL, I'm gonna be pissed."
*Ruby neither gets angry at the joke nor does she change her gesture in any way.*
[Robin:] "Come on, did Gauntlet create a package that will self-destruct to give to me?"
*The expression on Ruby's face doesn't change.*
[Robin:] "I mean, it's not like the ideal time for Secret Santa if I'm being honest."
*Ruby's expression changes to one of desperation and cries out "JUST TAKE IT!"
[Robin:] "Right, I'm just supposed to trust you now cause I beat you? Like this is some grand display of sportsmanship from you, the one who tried to end Geese's career last year when Rivers tricked him? Sorry. This isn't going to end in some kind of 'indy cred mutual respect' handshake. I don't trust you, Moreno and I doubt our match changed the way you feel about me either. So you're gonna have to prove to me-"
*Suddenly, a ninja drops down in between Robin and Ruby.*
[Robin:] "Oh, Clyde! Hey, can you find out if-"
*Clyde bows to Robin, pats her on the shoulder to congratulate her on her victory, takes the box and envelope, then suddenly jumps right back up to where he jumped down from.*
[John:] "What the hell?"
[Robin:] "If that was some kind of weapon, it won't be dangerous for much longer. And if it was an offer to be pen pals with me, maybe don't get your fancy quill all inked up and ready for my reply."
*Mr. Clyde drops back down, gives Robin the thumbs up,, and quickly jumps up again.*
[Robin:] "Okay then. By the way folks, he's awesome with pizza deliveries. 1-800-NINJA-PI.
Well Rubes, looks like you weren't trying to blow me up or infect me with radioactive spiders. But I think this is it and you know the stips. I win so we go our separate ways. For the record, you weren't half bad in there. But I'm the Ace so this finally goes back to being my ring. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."
*Ruby sighs then begins to turn to walk away but Robin puts her finger up.*
[Robin:] "But - not just yet. Clyde coming out here reminds me of something. Celes would want me to say something helpful to you right now at this moment of vulnerability so I'm gonna, even though I'm kinda sick of looking at you. But I wish I would have known fifteen years ago that potatoes wrestling bananas maybe weren't the worst thing to happen to the world of professional wrestling. They certainly weren't worse than what you and I had become. But then I changed, and Geese changed, so maybe there's hope for you too. I'll spare you the Rocky IV speech or else Geese will be saying 'I fight for me' all night long."
But if you can change, it's probably through her.
*Robin points to Megan who looks surprised but pleased.*
[Robin:] "Megan, help her out and give her a breath mint already, then do your assisting thing. She's gonna need someone to hang out with for a while and, for some reason, you can actually stand her. Help her see that maybe she doesn't need to shine a light in everyone else's eyes to find her own destiny. Later, Rubes."
*Megan walks over and actually gives Ruby a breath mint, which makes Robin chuckle a little. Megan offers one to Robin and she takes one as well, thanking her. Ruby at Robin one final time, manages a weak-willed but intentional nod, then turns around and leaves the ring.*
[John:] "Well, I think we still all want to find out what was in that package but the way that all went down was probably much more peaceful than any of us had any right to hope for. At the very least, it wasn't debased. And after the past year of the events UBL went through, it's a Christmas miracle to me to see what just happened."
Universal Battalion Championship
[John:] "Now we turn to the Universal Battalion Championship and the year-long reign of El Exilio. At 'Lunar Eclipse of the Heart,' El Fantasma Pálido and Yoshirozuna won the Titles by defeating Jack and Jeff Monroe in the finale of a tournament spanning two years. Because, as you know, tag tournaments in UBL take about twice the time they actually should. But in addition to winning those Titles, El Exilio started a reign of dominance that has not yielded for any opponents. And in July, they defeated the top contenders for the Titles: The team of JET Hamada and his mentor Barton Miller. But JET was not the only wrestler mentored by Barton. Yoshirozuna was too back when he was known as Yoshiro. Due to Kurt Sanders leading a public shaming campaign, Yoshiro and Pálido fled the UBL after they each lost to Joachim. Those two losses caused Destiny members to be added to the roster, the very members that El Exilio defeated for the Titles years later. However, during their exile, both Yoshiro and Pálido formed new violent and destructive attitudes. They returned to the UBL as a team and targeted all those who harassed them as well as those who stood in the way of their revenge. JET and Barton did not want to see Yoshirozuna give in to hatred and become just another part of the violence problem in UBL. So their challenge to El Exilio wasn't just to win the Tag Titles, but to end their momentum. For their part, JET and Barton actually were Universal Battalion Champions before and Barton had won that Title numerous times with his old tag partner, Naja Mask.
The match between El Exilio and Jet and Barton ended in tragedy. Yoshirozuna used Barton's own career finisher, the running powerbomb known as the 'Particle Accelerator,' against him. This injured him and, as we sadly found out months later, also ended his career due to breaking his neck and hurting his spine. Barton has retired. However, if it wasn't for Naja Mask running to the ring and preventing El Exilio for doing any further damage, JET Hamada may have been their next target. As a result of the relationship between Barton and Naja as well as Barton and JET, now Naja and JET have formed their own tag team. They are calling themselves 'Snakes on a Plane' and were issued this match upon Drake and Arthur's consent. While they have never actually tagged together before in an official match, both men are tag team experts and have dedicated this bout to Barton. As for El Exilio, before 'Snakes on a Plane' were named as their opponents, they issued an open challenge to any team to face them as they felt that UBL was preventing them from getting any quality competition to punish them for injuring Barton. It's clear now that the punishment is the quality competition that 'Snakes on a Plane' can provide. Whether or not El Exilio are as up for the challenge as they say, remains to be seen. Let's get to the ring!

[John:] "And we have new Universal Battalion Champions!! 'Snakes on a Plane' have done it!
Naja Mask wins the Universal Battalion Title yet again, and this time with JET Hamada, by using his superior speed advantage over Yoshirozuna. Of course, that was after blinding him with that green mist! I wonder if Megan Williams has some emergency eye wash backstage in the same bag that she carries her breath mints."
JET Hamada/Naja Mask (O) [Leg Cross Flying Rollup Pin – 23:48] (X) Yoshirozuna/Fantasma Pálido
[John:] "But that eye wash isn't for us as this match was quite a sight to behold. JET and Naja were more than ready for this war. It's clear that not only did they prepare for it, but they fit well together as a team. That would make sense given who trained and teamed with JET in the past. They knew El Exilio were going to play dirty and did not back down from winning any way they needed to. While Naja picked up the official pin, you had to be impressed by the dramatic increase in speed, technique, and aggression that JET showed here. This was not the JET who, back in July, looked a little indecisive as to how to take the fight to his former best friend, Yoshirozuna. This JET refused to back down while displaying an array of new maneuvers we had never seen before.
Amazingly, El Exilio has left in silence without any problems. And that all leaves us with just one question:
How did all these Marauder-friendly Snakes get so good at these Marauder-friendly pins!
...sorry."
UBL World Heavyweight Championship
[John:] "And we turn next to a match that Arthur Wingate was tentative to even officially sanction despite it being our co-main event of the evening. First, we have Corey O'Brian placing his World Heavyweight Championship against a dangerous member of the Gauntlet Security group. But even more disturbing, it is going to occur as part of our first ever 'No Quarter; Cage match. What does that mean?
In Corey's own words it means:
you cannot win by leaving the cage... there will be no door and the top of the fence will have electrified razor wire on the top, so there will be no means of escape. There will be no submissions, and the referee will be instructed to count a fall only when a deliberate pin is made, and it should go without saying that no holds will be barred and there are no referee stoppages either. The match only ends when one of us decides they have inflicted enough damage to their opponent.
[John:] "So, this is going to get violent quickly. UBL has always catered to a mature audience over 18 so we would like to once again remind anyone that this match, and entire show, is not for children. In fact, it's probably not for adults with weak stomachs either. The level of violence in this match has the potential to be unprecedented. If anyone remembers the series between Kyle Walker and Jeremiah Jones, this may eclipse that.
But why? Why do these two men hate each other so much? Because during one of our Circuit Shows in June of 2014, Agent 1 absolutely brutalized Xander Starr, Corey O'Brian's best friend. I would caution anyone against watching the footage. However, if you want to understand why Corey O'Brian wants the blood and career of Agent 1, that attack is the reason. That attack plus Agent 1's indifference toward it, treating it as business rather than personal. Corey takes the health of his friends very seriously and Agent 1 crossed not just a line, but an entire dimensional plane in angering Corey.
The question I have is just what else is Agent 1 capable of. From what I have heard, Agent 1 is the second in command for Gauntlet Security and has been responsible for the majority of attacks on us over the past few years. Agent 1 knows this arena well as he used to serve as the second in command to Genji Security back when they were contracted by Geese to 'protect' UBL. Agent 1 is the type of guy who we truly needed protection from, of course. And ever since Gauntlet formed a partnership with Destiny, they have been more dangerous than ever. And you can thank Agent 1 for the combination of surgically precise attacks on our emotions while they remain indifferent.
I mentioned before that Corey O'Brian was also putting his UBL World Heavyweight Championship on the line as if that was something shocking. It's true that defending against external threats is the very nature of that Championship as Arthur and Corey agreed on. But the idea that it could fall into the hands of Gauntlet and Destiny, our biggest threat on both the inside and outside of UBL is what has so many of us concerned about this match.
Although, looking at the crowd, you don't see too many fans of Corey O'Brian worried. Is that because he's been through bloody wars before? Maybe. Is it because he was the catalyst for this match? Perhaps. Or is it because he is the one with the stronger motivation and abilities to defeat Agent 1? Motivation, almost definitely. But the truth is we've never seen Agent 1 in the ring. All we know is that he seems to be some kind of mercenary, adept at the kind of efficient martial arts one learns in the military. Can that allow him to counteract the years of experience that Corey has acquired? I'm not sure. But if we're talking about a fight that resembles a warzone more than a wrestling match, Agent 1 may be even more suited for this scenario than Corey. But I still think the factor that turns this in Corey's favor is his desire to avenge Xander and purge UBL of Destiny. Let's get down to the ring and find out not just who wins, but who can still walk after this match."
*Agent 1 comes down to the ring first wearing his usual black suit combination. He does not even look at the audience and just marches to the ring with a sadistic grin on his face*
*After Agent 1's entrance, there was a brief pause of silence, then "T2 Theme" by Austrian Death Machine would start up, as the lights dimmed... then the music would switch to "This Will Be The Day" by Jeff and Casey Lee Williams, the theme for DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo Wrestling, as a contingent from DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo would march down the ramp, followed by Xander Starr dressed in a red PVC jacket, carrying a chair and a bag of popcorn, sitting down in the chair with the popcorn.
The music would go out again, only for "Soldiers of the Wasteland" by Dragonforce (recognized as the music Corey and Xander use as the tag team Florida Dream Team), as finally Corey O'Brian would slowly walk to the ring, wearing his usual jeans and a T-Shirt, tonight's shirt being a Pokey The Penguin T-shirt resembling the one that Xander wore when Agent 1 assaulted him five years ago; and of course the UBL Heavyweight Title around his waist.
*Corey would keep his eyes on Agent 1 the entire time as he entered the ring, not even breaking eye contact as he stepped through the ropes and handing the title to the ref to present, stretching out as the cage was lowered. We could see the electrified barbed wire on the top, and that the door had been welded shut. Both Agent 1 and Corey O'Brian kept staring at each other as the cage forward, and finally the referee would signal the bell, No Quarter Cage Match officially begins.*
Match 4: Agent 1 vs. Corey O’Brian (c)
"No Quarter" Cage Match
O'Brian would charge forward for a double leg takedown, Agent 1 answering with a sprawl but Corey with his tall frame would be able to leverage to a vertical base and shoot Agent back into his corner. Agent 1 would throw a punch but Corey would slip it and go for another double, again blocked with a sprawl... and Corey responds with a low blow!
Agent 1 collapses and a collective gasp can be heard as the reality set in that Corey O'Brian of all people went for a low blow, and O'Brian would immediately capitalize on the surprise, delivering a series of vicious knees and hammerfists to the grounded Agent. Agent 1 would manage to get into a guard to defend himself, but Corey would answer by grabbing Agent 1's shirt by the collar in an Ezekiel Choke to loosen Agent 1's guard, Corey pulling Agent 1 up by his THROAT before delivering an overhead suplex. Corey went for a running PK-style knee but Agent rolled away reaching under his pant leg... drawing a KNIFE and swinging it at Corey, forcing the taller man to jump back to avoid the blade, Agent 1 delivering a leaping Sobat to knock Corey into the corner before taking a mount position, knife in hand, carving Corey's forehead with the blade... until Corey brought another surprise out, spitting green mist into Agent 1's eyes! Corey is bleeding profusely but seems to be running on pure adrenaline, grabbing Agent by his belt and collar and throwing him through the ropes headfirst into the cage, before picking up the switchblade Agent 1 dropped and handing it to the referee.
Agent 1 was also busted open from the toss to the cage and Corey is now BITING Agent 1's cut forehead before taking Agent 1's back, fishhooking Agent with both hands before delivering a backstabber, transitioning into a camel-clutch style hold while maintaining the fishhooks. Agent 1 reaches for the ropes, but the ref has no power to call for a break. Corey does pull Agent 1 back to a vertical base, but keeps the fishhooking, climbing to the turnbuckle and delivering a fishook Calf Branding. Corey hits the ropes as Agent 1 gets back up, but instead of the usual Yakuza Kick that O'Brian delivers after a Calf Branding he instead delivers a DROPKICK, following that up with a release Dragon Suplex.
Meanwhile, Xander Starr is munching on popcorn.
Corey looks to hook up Agent 1's legs, perhaps for his trademark Sharpshooter but Agent 1 kicks him back, rolling to his feet before driving into a chop block to Corey's leg (which has been surgically repaired) before quickly slapping on Agent 0's own Reverse Neck Crank, transitioning it into a dragon sleeper! Corey claws at Agent 1's face but the man in black refuses to break it, eventually Corey starts fading. Agent 1 goes to a lateral press and it looks like Corey is going to be robbed of his vengeance, one, two... Corey kicks out!
Agent 1 keeps his calm and goes to his other pant leg, revealing a second concealed weapon... a ratchet wrench that's normally used to tighten the ring ropes. Corey goes to get up but Agent 1 swings it directly at the back of Corey's neck! It's been well documented that Corey has had reconstructive neck surgery more than once, Agent 1 delivering a second blow before going for another pin, one, two, and another kick out. He mounts Corey and starts pummeling him before pulling him up for another Reverse Neck Crank... but Corey with a snapmare to reverse it, putting Agent 1 in a Dragon Sleeper position... pulling Agent 1 up and delivering a lifting sheer-drop reverse DDT, Xander Starr's Starry Night Driver! Corey picks up the wrench... but instead of giving it to the referee, he goes to a turnbuckle and starts undoing the turnbuckles... one, then another, then the third.
He goes back to Agent 1, who gets to a knee, grabbing Corey's shirt out of desperation, tearing it... revealing an undershirt wiith the words "YA DONE GOOFED" underneath. Agent 1 sees the words and glances at them in confusion before before Corey knees him in the face, knocking him onto his back before going into a Giant Swing, moving towards the dismantled turnbuckle with every spin before letting go, Agent 1 being launched headfirst into the cage. Corey takes a moment to compose his balance before grabbing the loose ropes and STRANGLING Agent 1 with them. Agent 1 taps, but the ref can do nothing but watch. Letting go of the ropes, Corey picks up Agent 1 for another release Dragon Suplex... then reaching into his pocket... for a coin. He flips it, then looks at the result, nodding.
Whatever the result was, Corey starts twisting Agent 1's left arm over his leg before grabbing Agent's right... pulling back and a sickening SCREAM his heard from Agent 1 as Corey watches Agent 1 roll around clutching his right arm in agony. Corey grabs Agent 1's left arm, driving his knee into the Agent's elbow before pulling back on the wrist at a horribly unnatural angle, YANKING it before letting go. Corey backs into the corner, watching Agent 1 try to get back up with both arms hanging limp at his sides... Corey moves in, hooking the man in black's neck and throwing him back with a chancery suplex, rolling back into a mounted guillotine choke. Looking directly to the camera. "Does this disturb you? It SHOULD!" He cries out.
Corey then pulls Agent 1 in a seated position, sitting on his neck for a stump puller... only this wasn't an ordinary stump puller as Corey puts Agent 1's right leg over his left in a figure 4, pulling Agent 1's left leg up in another horribly unnatural angle, again yanking the limb before letting go, Agent 1 rolling on his stomach. Corey pulls him by his HAIR to the unloosened ropes, ripping off the turnbuckle padding, then putting Agent 1 on his shoulder, crossing the Agent's legs again before running forward to drill his right knee into the exposed turnbuckle, following up with a twisting kneebar, wrenching Agent 1's leg sadistically until Agent 1 AGAIN taps.
Corey cranks for a few seconds longer before finally letting go, getting up and climbing to the top rope... then more up the cage.... almost to where he would hit the electrified barbed wire before looking back, then leaping off delivering a monster of a knee drop onto Agent 1's ribs, making the man in back COUGH BLOOD. Not letting Agent 1 get a moment respite, he pulls Agent up, twisting the broken left arm into a hammerlock before ramming him shoulder first into the corner with turnbuckles remove, DIRECTLY into the ringpost, making Agent 1 scream in bloodcurdling pain.
Corey looks to Xander.... who tips his bag over, showing he's out of popcorn. Corey nods, and pulls Agent 1 to the center of the ring... CORE MELTDOWN! That would be the end of the match in most cases but Corey pulls Agent 1 back up... a SECOND Core Meltdown! And a third! A FOURTH even! Corey still doesn't go for the cover... pulling off the torn off shirt... and the tank underneath... then doing a throat slit before putting Agent 1 onto his shoulder, spiking him headfirst with the Diamond Head! Corey would put his boot on Agent 1's chest, flipping off the now crippled Agent as the referee counted to three bringing this match to the end.
Agent 1 (X) [11:45- "Diamond Head"] (O) Corey O'Brian
The cage lifts up and EMTs come rushing down, mostly tending to Agent 1 but Corey O'Brian is also handed a towel for the blood now dripping down his chest. Corey climbs out of the ring after wiping some of the blood off, before taking a microphone.
[Corey O'Brian:] "In case the message isn't already clear, let me make it so. If anyone wants to come after me... I am a professional fighter. Fucking challenge me to a fight. If you come after my loved ones to get to me... that is what awaits you. This is the last warning I will give."
*Corey drops the mic as he calmly heads to the back with Xander and his students behind him.*
(Geese note: A very special thanks to OctoberRaven for expertly writing that match and Corey's entrance!!)
[John:] "Look, we're just...we're just going to take a small break. The entire ringside area needs a deep cleaning right now and I think the fans could use a 10 minute break to purchase refreshments and maybe look into that eye-wash solution I was hoping Megan Williams was carrying backstage earlier. I'm very relieved that Corey is still our Champion but...I kinda wish I wasn't watching this match so close to the action."
*John looks visibly ill and shaken and we go to a commercial for DRAGONSUPLEX Dojo Wrestling*
(Geese note: Fully aware of the irony of using a palate-cleanser commercial break to promote Corey O'Brian's Dojo!)
[John:] "Okay...and we're back!"
UBL NEXUS Championship
[John:] "It is now time for the final match of 'ALL YOUR BASE.' Matthew Rivers will defend his UBL NEXUS Championship against the enigmatic Sirius Mask. It is tempting to say that Rivers has only held his Title for a year given that last December he turned against the entire UBL by joining Destiny.
However, we don't actually know how long he has been with Destiny. And, if we're disregarding personality and just looking at the Title reign, Matthew's can be traced to October of 2014 when he defeated Joachim at 'Destiny Drive' Rivers has fought off all competition since then to retain this Title.
But his entire attitude and in-ring style changed once he officially joined Destiny and began following the leadership of Ruby Moreno. I need not remind you just how heartbreaking it was around this exact this time of night last year. The epic main event of 'Lunar Eclipse of the Heart' had ended in a draw between Matthew and Geese Walker. But then Matthew tricked Geese with a fake handshake and dropped him on his head with a variation of his long-time 'Chancery of Rain' finisher. Geese has experienced rather acute amnesia ever since then. Meanwhile, Matthew has become something between a mindless drone and his old self in serving the Destiny cause. We know he can still wrestle and we know he'll take any shortcut he can to win unlike the old Matt Rivers. But we don't know what is truly fueling his competitive spirit or what he actually is getting out of this arrangement.
And of equal importance to this match, we also don't know who his opponent actually is. Sirius Mask appeared in this promotion at the start of this tour to no prelude or fanfare. As the year progressed, he began building victories of gradual impressiveness over opponents such as Jean DuBreil, Kazuo Saji, and Brandr Hoff who was the former #1 contender to the NEXUS Title. After getting involved in Destiny business, Ruby put a target on the mask of Sirius but also offered him an opportunity. If he could defeat Joachim, he would get a Title match. Sirius Mask did exactly that, though only 3 people actually witnessed the match. That is because Sirius has been leaning heavily on the element of surprise in defeating his opponents and making sure that Destiny is not able to use their massive surveillance capacity and ability of Ruby Moreno to identify wrestlers. Not only has Sirius remained under a mask, but he has wrestled a little differently during every match: ensuring that anonymity.
You have to figure that this match is the end goal for Sirius Mask. Either Sirius wants to win the NEXUS Title as his number one priority or he wants to remove that Title from the ranks of Destiny. In either case, I do not expect Sirius to hold back or alter his style in any way that could potentially limit his victory. I am fairly confident that we'll all have a good idea who Sirius Mask actually is by the end of tonight. What I don't know is whether or not he will be the new NEXUS Champion. Matthew Rivers is still dangerous and a resilient Champion. It's true that he may no longer possess or prioritize the pure wrestling abilities that he once had which we all respected him for. But he remains intelligent and now has a conniving side that has proven effective. But from the perspective of the variety of styles we have seen Sirius Mask utilize in each of his matches this year, he may possess the most dynamic abilities I have ever seen from an offensive and defensive perspective.
This all adds up to the potential for a match of the year prospect, as far as I'm concerned. Let's get to the ring and find out which one of these two will leave tonight and this entire year as the NEXUS Champion."

[John:] "Where do I even begin!? The crowd is deafening right now!!
We have a new NEXUS Champion for the first time in five years! Sirius Mask has just defeated Matthew Rivers with...I'm just gonna say it, one of two maneuvers. Either we just saw a masked and suspended Kazuo Saji use the 'Chrome Splitter' or... dare I say it... I can't even begin to imagine if it's ...
*Sirius Mask begins to pull off their mask.*
[John:] "OH MY GOD."
*The crowd completely loses their mind over Sirius Mask revealing herself to be-"
[John:] "It's Alicia Gordon!! Alicia Gordon has just won the UBL NEXUS Championship!"
Sirius Mask (O) [”AG-47” - 16:36] (X) Matt Rivers
[John:] "And she did so with the AG-47, one of the most dangerous kicks...no, moves in professional wrestling. A move that knocked out the monstrous Juli Krieger, a move that injured Haley Cannon, and a move that has just won Alicia her first major singles Championship. And the crowd is loving this moment!"
*The crowd starts chanting "Leesh, Leesh, Leesh" and even "LAWL, LAWL, LAWL!"
[John:] "Alicia Gordon is not just the first female to ever win a Title in UBL. She has also taken one of the most difficult and circuitous paths to Championship success in this world that I've ever seen. And I think that is what is drawing this fan applause more than anything. You heard what Jean Carter talked about earlier. Robin Walker, back when she was Holly, absolutely tortured this girl. She had Juli Krieger intentionally injure her, almost ending her career. She harassed her constantly, trying to ruin her reputation. The rumors I've heard that were never confirmed are even more scandalous as to offers Holly made to her. Then, just when Geese and Holly retire, Ruby Moreno has Destiny recruit Jang Bae, Alicia's Tae-Kwon-Do sabonim. This shifted Alicia's attention to Destiny for the next 10 years and ...wait... of course! That's why Sirius Mask came to the aid of Jang Bae and even Joachim against Ruby all those months ago. Since it was Alicia all along, of course it makes sense she was looking out for Jang! Oh my god, I never would have imagined it was Alicia and I was the first person to interview her as Sirius Mask when she came to the UBL!"
*Thunder Strike comes out from backstage and proudly marches to ringside. He takes the NEXUS Title from the timekeeper and rolls into the ring. Alicia immediately hugs Thunder to even more applause from the audience. Then Thunder hands Alicia the NEXUS Championship and the crowd roars in approval.*
[John:] "We all have a lot to process tonight ...and luckily, with the absolute opposite emotions that we had last year. But I'm not going to be the last word tonight. The fan'ss reaction is.
So listen to them as you look upon your new UBL NEXUS Champion - a true warrior - Alicia Gordon."
*The crowd continues chanting Alicia's name as the show fades into history.*
Happy 16th Anniversary, OG-FPD!! 😀
