OG-FPD Immortal

*The crowd is calm as they dually anticipate and dread the start of the event. Tonight is the literal "beginning of the end", the "11th hour', the "last peanut soaked in the oil of its departed brothers", and other cliches as UBL and OG-Joshi present their final shows ever under the OG-FPD umbrella. The mood in the Peter Venkman Memorial Arena is appropriate for the proceedings. Some fans are sad while others are pleased to see the end of this era: happy that a megalomaniac like Orochi Geese has finally given up his power.
The show starts with a split screen showing us the UBL Battle Chamber and the OG-Joshi Amplitheater. John Randolph is sitting at his usual place in the commentary booth of the Battle Chamber: mercifully not joined by James Ward. "Mean" Jean Carter is sitting in the Amplitheater joined by Luke Kisiera (who is not wearing a headset). She has tears in her eyes but is trying to be strong as Luke smiles at her and nods his head. John looks on sympathetically as she's about to speak but immediately breaks down crying.*
[MJC:] "I'm sorry... this is just, I never imagined doing this... this show. The end."
[John:] "I know how you feel, Jean. The last few months have been hard on us all."
[MJC:] "And I just want to do a good job tonight. The last thing people want to remember about the final OG-FPD show is some wacky girl crying! Especially a coach! A coach isn't supposed to let her players and fans see her cry. She's supposed to be tough! Whistle blowing tough!"
[John:] "Once we get down to talking about the matches, you'll feel a bit better."
[MJC:] "Yeah, let's do...that. So, the NEXUS Title is on the line first, right?"
[John:] "UBL, then LAWL, then OG-Joshi, then a surprise, then the main event. It's probably the shortest anniversary show ever but, given the circumstances, that's how it has to be."
[MJC:] "Yeah, the circumstances. Let's just call it that and maybe I'll be able to deal tonight. So I guess we should start discussing the NEXUS-"
*#2121313 by Corrosion of Conformity hits the PA at the UBL Battledome, bringing to the arena the "King of Combat", Gene Starr. He carries the MDWF Championship around his waist, his music ending by the time he makes it to the ring stairs. As he enters the ring, he's handed a microphone from a ringside attendant.*
[John:] "Looks like Mean Jean was just interrupted by Starr Gene."
[MJC:] "I won't hold it against him! Let's hear what he has to say!"
[Gene:] They gave me a few minutes to talk, but didn't really give me any guidelines. So, here goes.
I'm here, my first match in UBL in over a year... heh, and it's the last damn UBL show. That's some messed up stuff, man. Especially considering my massive contributions to this company. You people out there may not've stopped to think about it, but, I want you to remember how much UBL has been changed by my presence. If you'll recall, when I debuted here, UBL was a promotion with too little talent, and too many shows. It was like someone thought, "how do we get a year of shows out of a 20-man roster?" and they came up with this dumb league format. But, things started to change. The open shows started, and I came in, and being the only Champion in the promotion, declared myself the UBL Champion.
And what an uproar that caused! It all lead to the creation of what I'm here for tonight; the NEXUS Championship. Named that because as UBL changed in my wake, it became a nexus, a hub, where the best of the best from around the world came to ply their trade; UBL became a nexus of professional wrestling, and the NEXUS Championship became one of the most sought-after Championships in the industry - as well as it should've been. And I helped forge it, I became the first NEXUS Champion, and the only two-time NEXUS Champion. I am the man that lead the charge to turn UBL from that promotion with too little talent and too much airtime into a promotion so overflowing with the best talent in the world that it had to keep coming up with new ways to showcase it. Open shows, Front Lines, Orochi-O's TV, Basic Training... All because of me making a bold claim and being able to back it up.
And now, here I am; here to take back a big part of my influence; the NEXUS Championship - my Championship. UBL became such a phenomenon as my presence began being felt here that, literally, people were preparing to go to war for the opportunity to purchase it, and I'm here to make sure that a man worthy of the NEXUS Championship holds it into UBL's future.
My name... is Gene Starr. And you won't forget it."
*Gene heads over to the ropes and hands the mic to an attendant, removing the M-DWF Championship from his waist and waiting for his opponent challengers and, of course, the reigning NEXUS Champion.*
[MJC:] "Wow, that was incredibly heart felt. I can't say I've seen eye to eye with Mr. Starr in the past but you can't help but root for him to some degree after seeing the passion he clearly has for UBL and that NEXUS Championship. That was really inspiring!"
[John:] "Gene has always been somewhat of an enigma. He rubs some wrestlers the wrong way but has been very honourable about how he goes about things in the ring. I can't remember any time where he jumped someone from behind or did anything illegal in the ring. He's dangerous with his multi-faceted arsenal of submissions, strikes, and slams, but he's gonna beat you face to face, not by sneak attack. The fans don't always love what he has to say but they respect how he's able to back it up time and time again. Even when he suffered the setback of losing the NEXUS Title the first time, he came back and beat Karl Wunderlin in the rematch. And with the energy Gene has tonight, he could easily take this thing."
[MJC:] "Well, John, I don't know about easily with the amount of talent that will be in this ring. But I certainly think he certainly holds up his end of the bargain here! And with that, it's time to really start discussing this match: the final one for UBL. I was told that Kyle's match with Geese in the main event would actually be held under the OG-FPD banner. And while there are some UBL wrestlers in the Battle Royale later tonight, that is an interpromotional match. This, right now, will be the last UBL match held under Orochi-O's ownership. So...let's do our part to make the discussion worthy!"
[John:] "Indeed. Markus Caesaro is the reigning UBL NEXUS Champion. He was given the Title by his brother, Julian, who won it last year from Gene Starr. Corey O'Brian has been the closest to winning the Title without actually doing it. Markus only has one title defense, from Battle Formation against Daddy Prime Time, but proved his worth."
[MJC:] "But Mr. Arthur Wingate wanted to clarify the Title scene before he took total ownership of the UBL . He didn't like the idea of having two wrestlers, Julian and Markus, who each had a legitimate claim to the Title. He also respects Gene Starr and thinks that Corey deserved a final shot here too. The thing is, no one is entirely certain which wrestlers are set to follow UBL to its new home in England. Arthur certainly hopes that whoever wins tonight will accept a plane ticket."
[John:] "And I'd like to announce that Mr. Wingate generously offered me a contract with the new UBL and I agreed to all terms. So I'll be shipping off to the United Kingdom in January."
[MJC:] "Congratulations! It wouldn't be the UBL without you, John!"
[John:] "That means a lot coming from you, Jean. Especially since you were the original voice of UBL during the singles league."
*Jean nods and places her hand on Luke's shoulder.*
[MJC:] "Right, that was before Luke Kisiera, over here, became my boyfriend."
[John:] "No, I meant singles league as a shorthand for the Universal Champions League."
[MJC:] "I know, just kinda wanted to make a joke."
*Jean smiles but it's clear she's still very emotional so John nods.*
[John:] "Touche. And despite some of the issues I've had here over the last few months, I've really enjoyed this job. So I'm glad to continue my broadcast journalist career in the new UBL. I know that Mr. Wingate will run a tight ship in prohibiting intimidation of commentators and excessive violence in general. I hope the majority of the roster follows suit as I want to see how their careers advance, especially those in the Basic Training division."
[MJC:] "Best of luck, John. I know you'll do a great job! Send me postcards from jolly ole England!"
[John:] "I definitely will. And I'm looking forward to seeing if the man who wins this upcoming match will agree to defend his Title in the UK's UBL."
*Luke whispers something to Jean and she starts giggling.*
[John:] "DId I say something funny?"
[MJC:] "What the heck is UCK BULL?"
[John:] "I'm sure I have no idea-"
[MJC:] "You may not but at least one group of fans are laughing and 'posting' pretty hard right now! On that note, sorry to Lynn Malloy about not getting you the Tag Title shot I promised. I'm still kinda shocked about OG-Joshi being sold though! Yessiree!"
[John:] "I'm sure the rational among your roster has understood the magnitude of the situation and how you had no part whatsoever in OG-Joshi being sold by Geese to Destiny."
[MJC:] "Asako Matsuki has called me every day to yell at me for not selling it to her. She doesn't get that I don't own OG-Joshi. But I guess Geese won't take her calls."
[John:] "You may want to follow his lead on that one. Miss Matsuki once called to scream at me because I wasn't speaking of RYOMA enough. She even called James Ward with the same complaint. I can only imagine that led to a very 'colorful' conversation."
[MJC:] "To be a fly on the wall, John. To be a fly on a wall."
[John:] "Anyway, let's get back to this match. We have two brothers involved who have no problem fighting each other tooth and nail when the situation calls for it. Despite Markus and Julian appearing close in UBL, the two have battled quite fiercely in other promotions around the world. I have no doubt that either one is capable of forcefully eliminating the other to claim the Title. And a few weeks ago Markus left Julian's side and made it clear he was going to do what he had to do in order to win. Meanwhile, Julian also has both Gene and Corey gunning for him. Julian beat Gene to win the title and had one of the most intense feuds of 2010 with Corey."
[MJC:] "I think that many people still see Julian as the rightful NEXUS Champion so he is going to be the main target here. But I also think that won't matter so much because Corey O'Brian will be walking out of here with the Title regardless of everyone's focus. There's no question in my mind that he wants it the most. He's been shooting for a UBL Title for years and this is his time. And the message he had for his opponents a few weeks ago were of a man determined to win."
[John:] "I'd be inclined to believe you but Markus Caesaro is one of the most dangerous men in professional wrestling. Even though it's true that Matt Rivers defeated him last year, that was in a one on one match. A four way match favors those who can be opportunistic and violent. And I think Markus is the one that embodies those qualities the most."
[MJC:] "We shouldn't forget Julian either. And not just cause I don't want to be rude. But he is one of the few wrestlers on this roster that holds a clean victory over Orochi Geese within the last year and a half. He also came close to winning the FPCPP World Title earlier this year. While he's been going through some somewhat of an identity crisis, it hasn't stood in the way of his UBL performances. He's been very focused and led Perfect Royalty to be one of our most dominant factions. I think Julian's main challenges in this match will be to keep his flashiness to a minimum and avoid being teamed up on by those who may have a bone to pick with him. His main strength will be his sense of opportunism and heart."
[John:] "And though Gene Starr already gave his history, I'd like teo go into into more detail. He is our first and only two time NEXUS Champion. He also was the sole reason that Title was created. He waltzed into UBL calling himself our Champion because we didn't have a traditional pro wrestling championship. While we had our Universal Champion of 2007, Jack Dod, he didn't have to defend his title since the league had ended. And there wasn't another singles league planned til after the Battalion. So much for that, huh? Anyway, Gene happened to be the only wrestler here that was holding traditional singles gold in the form of the legendary M-DWF World Title. But Drake rejected his claim to UBL supremacy and set up a tournament to debut an official non-league Championhip. Gene decisively won that tournament and became our new singels Champion. It was Gene's explanation for what the Title meant that led to it becoming known as the NEXUS Championship. And you know, I think that Title's lineage here really stood up to the high expectations it was given."
[MJC:] "Agreed. Because without Gene Starr, UBL would be a very different place. We would not have drawn in half the talent we have. That is because a lot of singles wrestlers would have been disenfranchised without anything specific to shoot for in between bi-yearly runs, at most, of the Universal Championship league."
[John:] "Exactly. So due to his influence and success in UBL, Gene was hand picked by Arthur Wingate for this match tonight. I think that Gene could beat any of these wrestlers individually. But his reliance on submission wrestling could work against him in a multi-man match like tonight. For him to win, he has to keep the NEXUS Title as his only objective and let the other three get distracted by their issues with each other. If Gene keeps a cool head and stays on his feet, he has a very good chance at winning this. But he will have to adapt his style to the needs and specific flow of the match. You don't want to be on your back, even voluntarily, when someone like Markus Caesaro is stalking around in a bad mood."
[MJC:] "John, you had a front row seat to watch the NEXUS Title division flourish. You were there when the Title was crowned as well as each time it was defended. What do you think, in your expert opinion, was it's defining moment?"
[John:] "Undoubtedly, it was one year ago at OG-FPD Ragnarok when Julian Caesaro very narrowly defeated Corey O'Brian. Corey brought everything he had to that match and nearly knocked out Julian. But shockingly, Julian's instincts and hunger for that Title allowed him to surprise Corey, who thought the match was in the bag, and claim a desperation roll up victory. It just showed what a man was willing to endure to hold onto that Championship. It had barely been in existence for three years at that point, but had clearly become the centerpiece of our promotion. It's fitting that Julian and Corey are both in this match tonight. I know that Arthur Wingate and Drake Yoshida have been very proud of the work of the Field Leader, Matt Rivers. But before Jinchuu came in and wrecked the Circuit shows, the NEXUS Title was the most important Title here. More important then the Field Leader Title and more important then the Battalion Tag Titles. In my view, the NEXUS Title is UBL."
[MJC:] "Great reflection, John. And now it is time to see who bridges the gap as NEXUS Champion between two different eras of UBL. Here we go!"

[MJC:] "What a match! We have a new Champion!"
[John:] "And in dominating fashion!"
[MJC:] "Corey O'Brian has finally done it! He is the new NEXUS Champion!!!"
[John:] "And this time he didn't leave anything to chance against Julian! He hit him with a brutal sequence of a "Kinnuku Buster" and a "Core Meltdown" for the first elimination! It looks like he finally got his revenge on Ceese. Then Corey took out Markus with the same move!! And to fully prove his mastery of different styles, he made the submission expert, Gene Starr, tap out!! Corey's frustration of not winning a UBL title has built up for years and turned into pure, concentrated power tonight."
[MJC:] "We've seen Corey dominate entire Battle Royales before but doing so against three former Champions was a rare feat to behold. Corey has never been shy about his skills over the years and, while I feel he's always backed it up, tonight he truly proved his abilities. Though I do think Gene Starr almost won this match on two occasions. In fact, he had Corey reeling at the end and was a hair away from pinning him!! But Corey, much like Julian did against him, persevered and pulled a victory out. Quite a combination at the end!"
[John:] "Julian, Markus, and Gene each had their moments of dominance but when it came to the pivotal points of the match, Corey was on top of his game. But not only do you have to hand it to Gene for his competitiveness at the end, bu also for coming back after an en entire year outside the ring! Furthermore, he managed to not onlys last til the end, but go toe to toe with Corey. But what Corey did tonight will go down in history in so many ways."
Corey O'Brian (O) ["Core Meltdown" - 15:54] (X) Julian Caesaro
Corey O'Brian (O) ["Core Meltdown" - 17:36] (X) Markus Caesaro
Corey O'Brian (O) ["The Best Sharpshooter In Wrestling" - 20:42] (X) Gene Starr
[MJC:] "And now we turn to a special match where the Los Angeles Women's Lucha, or "LAWL", Opulent Mejor Golden, or "OMG", Title will be on the line."
[John:] "Opulent, major, and golden. Must be worth a lot of bananas."
[MJC:] "If I was a gorilla, I'd love to be paid in bananas. But I don't know what kind of job I could get with that sort of deal, especially in this rough economy."
[John:] "Times are indeed tough...wait, what was all that?"
*Jean shrugs her shoulders as if she doesn't remember either. Luke giggles under his breath and John looks at them both warily. Jean clears her throat.*
[MJC:] "Anyway, I was politely asked by Ruby Moreno to let the fans know that LAWL has hired a new referee. Her name is Paula English and she will be taking over as the new official for Title matches and main events. While I don't know the extent of the situation, there has apparently been some rumblings in the locker room about LAWL owner Gloria Reyes not being as neutral as some wrestlers wanted. So Miss English has been assigned by Destiny, rather then by LAWL. That's a sticky situation but hey, it's not my business."
[John:] "Well from what I've heard, Gloria doesn't have a spotless record with personnel."
*Jean nods but then realizes she's on camera and looks a bit embarrassed*
[MJC:] "You said it, not me."
[John:] "But I think people should realize that when faced with a no win situation, you stood by your wrestlers one hundred and ten percent. Not all owners have done that."
[MJC:] "I appreciate the support, John. But let's talk about more positive things, like what is set to be an incredible match right now! We have the long time OMG Champion, Jenny McLanahan, defending her Title against one of my favorite wrestlers, and people, Kat Black!!
[John:] "Mr. Clyde's favorite, too."
[MJC:] "Figaro go to you, didn't he?"
*John looks down and appears ashamed.*
[John:] "Uh, guilty as charged."
*Jean laughs and looks over to see Luke involuntarily cup stacking.*
[John:] "So to get back on track, fans may be curious as to what a LAWL match is doing on this show. Orochi Geese doesn't own LAWL and it was actually a competitor to OG-Joshi."
[MJC:] "There are two reasons for this match, John. One is based on events outside of the ring. Orochi Geese invited LAWL to be a part of this show because he regrets how he and Holly treated them in the past. From insulting their wrestlers to keeping their shows from airing due to legal manipulation, Geese was not very kind to LAWL because of Holly's desire to wipe it out of existence. Both of them regret their behavior and wanted to offer a token of apology here."
[John:] "One really has to respect the graciousness of giving them an entire match on the farewell show of his promotions. Especially since we know what LAWL Title matches are capable of. Some have even claimed that LAWLiday main events eclipse OG-Joshi ones. To allow LAWL to steal the show here is a gutsy move for a man who wants his promotions to claim immortality. "
[MJC:] "Well, upstaged tonight or not, I believe OG-Joshi and UBL will live on forever. But I have heard the claims of LAWL's superiority and can't necessarily argue. Obviously to each their own but I've considered certain LAWL Title matches to be better then certain OG-Joshi ones. I've never tried to compete with LAWL but viewed it as a fellow promotion to make the overall business better. Plus, we have always shared talent I wish their roster well. But with all due respect, I haven't seen a match better then Visper Karr vs. Kat Black in a long, long time."
*Jean blushes*
[MJC:] "Then again, Luke and Marauder beating Mills and Bodyguard man was pretty cool too!"
*Jean kisses Luke on the cheek and he blushes*
[John:] "I think everyone is entitled to their own opinions when it comes to their favorite matches."
[MJC:] "I totally agree. Now, the other reason for this match is based on some of the things that have happened inside the ring in both OG-Joshi and LAWL. Jenny defeated Ruby Moreno for the OH EM GEE TItle two years ago at LAWLiday. While Kat has dabbled successfully in LAWL, she really has considered OG-Joshi to be her home promotion for the last few years. So to some, her presence in this Title match may be odd. But Ruby Moreno stole Kat Black's spot in the OG-Joshi World TItle earlier this year. I think that just about everyone involved in making this match felt that Kat deserved this opportunity."
[John:] "Ok, here's what I want to know. Whoever wins this match...will they eventually face the winner of the OG-Joshi World TItle match, scheduled for later tonight? Are they going to unify the Titles for OG-JAWLshi or whatever its going to be called?"
[MJC:] "I think that's a very good question. So good that I don't have the answer for it! The Destiny Corporation is going to fully own OG-Joshi. But the Reyes family still own LAWL despite it being partially funded by Destiny! So whether the two parties will decide to unify the promotions or keep them seperate is really anyone's guess. My guess is that they will be combined in some way: even if the temporarily unified roster is then split into a Voltage and Amplitude situation which sorts veterans and rookies. It's way too big of a waste for Destiny to have influence in both promotions but keep them totally separate. There are so many dream matches to be had!"
[John:] "You'll excuse me if I don't order the PPV where Sandy Morton takes on Los Platanos."
[MJC:] "Why would Sandy-"
[John:] "Never mind. So have Kat and Jenny ever wrestled before?"
[MJC:] "No, this will actually be their first time."
[John:] "That won't be said during Sandy's promo against Los Platanos..."
[MJC:] "Wait, do you know something I don't know? Is there backstage heat?"
[John:] "Well the bananas are microwaved."
[MJC:] "And I think you may be coming down with a fever!"
[John:] "LAWL fever. So who do you see winning this match between Kat and Jenny?"
[MJC:] "Jenny is the total package in the ring. She can beat you in every way possible: submissions, strikes, suplexes, and flashy pins. I still remember when she defeated Kaori NiGHT in OG-Joshi by reversing Kaori's running Samoan Drop flip thingy into a twirly pin."
[John:] "How could you not remember a situation so creatively described!?"
[MJC:] "I know! it was great to watch and even more fun to describe! So we know Jenny can straight out go in the ring. She is the only wrestler since 2005 to hold a singles win over Ruby Moreno. I mean, that's pretty substantial right there. She also came within a hair of beating Holly for the OG-Joshi World Championship a few years ago. Jenny McLanahan is not intimidated and does not give up. It's going to take more then the traditional effort to put her away."
[John:] "And Kat?"
[MJC:] "As close as Jenny got to defeating Holly for the OG-Joshi World Title. Kat came even closer to beating Visper for it at Ragnarok. She fell a little short but there wasn't a person in that arena who didn't see her raise her game to true main event level. And with all due respect to Jenny, I'm not entirely sure if she could defeat Visper right now, to be honest. But Kat came as close as one could to doing that and probably could if given a rematch."
[John:] "Of course, how the two match up against a third wrestler isn't exactly the measure of how they will do agaisnt each other, but it's something to take account when discussing this."
[MJC:] "Exactly. I mean this is all prediction right now anyway. But getting into Kat's weapons, she is a better striker then Jenny. Jenny has some good kicks and chops but Kat's kicks put down Narai Kaeo. Kat is also just a bit more agile and more adept at high flying then even the lucha influenced Jenny. I also think Kat's signature suplexes have more impact then Jenny's do. But the one area I would give Jenny the definite advantage is in her submissions. kat has two very effective submissions but Jenny can make you tap out within seconds of grabbing your arm."
[John:] "That is definitely true. Most wrestlers end matches with Jenny having their arms hanging limply from their sides. She assaults that arm in a way few other wrestlers do."
[MJC:] "In OG-Joshi, the only wrestler I would say is more effective at submissions then Jenny is Haley Cannon, and she's in a class all of her own. Jenny isn't quite there but I don't see any shame in being second best to Haley Cannon in terms of submissions."
[John:] "Not to go on a big tangant but how is Haley Cannon feeling?"
[MJC:] "She was actually set to return to OG-Joshi at Destiny Unknown, John. But now she is weighing her options. I don't want to say anything specific but she actually has a few radical ideas for where she goes next. Personally, I kinda hope she shows up in LAWL to teach Ruby a lesson."
[John:] "That would be quite a match."
[MJC:] "But back to Jenny and Kat, this is anyone's match. Kat has to watch her arms, Jenny has to keep Kat on the ground. Jenny has to watch her legs, Kat has to keep Jenny off balance. This can play out in so many different and interesting ways."
*Luke whispers to Jean and she nods.*
[MJC:] "Luke says we'd have to run like a random number generator or something to determine all the different ways this match can go! Very observant, Luke!"
[John:] "Uh, ixnay on andom-ray-"
[MJC:] "Anyway, I think we're ready to get down to business. Both women are in the ring after receiving incredibly ovations from the crowd. They shake hands and we're set!"
[John:] "And just to be clear, Mr. Kisiera was just using an analogy to talk aboot-"
[MJC:] "Simmer down, John. It's cool."
*The three laugh nervously and the match begins*

[John:] "What a finish!"
[MJC:] "Kat went all backwards flip and then forward flip and LAWL got a Title flip!"
[John:] "I don't think Jenny saw that coming at all. She was recovering from that powerful reverse frankensteiner and felt Kat going for a similar style move. Either Kat tricked Jenny from the start or readjusted mid move to throw her off. Jenny did not see the forward roll Mysteriorana coming at all though and Kat pulled off a brilliant manuever to keep Jenny down!"
Kat Black (O) [Mysteriorana - 17:22] (X) Jenny McLanahan
[MJC:] "It's rare to see Jenny get outwrestled but that's exactly what happened at the end here. Kat cleanly pinned her in the middle of the ring after two manuevers that started the same but ended totally different. I think that was a brilliant way to keep Jenny down since neither of the two wrestlers were able to use their signature moves to win."
[John:] "In a match like this, both wrestlers are ready for each other's signature moves so it often means that one wrestler has to improvise in a key situation to get the win."
[MJC:] "I've seen Visper do that a number of times to beat her opponents. People expect the running face kick and end up being rolled up in the middle of the ring with no way to escape!"
[John:] "Jenny likely expected another reverse frankensteiner and in over committing to reversing it, allowed Kat the opportunity to fully throw her off balance to get the pin. A brilliant maneuver from the new LAWL OMG Champion, Kat Black."
[MJC:] "I want to say that too! The new LAWL OMG Champion, Kat Black! Yea!"
[John:] "So how's this for a measure of retribution? Kat just cleanly defeated the woman who cleanly defeated Ruby Moreno, after Ruby cheated Kat out of her Title shot."
[MJC:] "Sometimes the universe has a way of making things right."
[John:] "And the fans definitely agree with that as they are giving both women a standing ovation. That was really quite a match, Jean."
[MJC:] "Well, it didn't hurt that both wrestlers are in OG-Joshi too!"
[John:] "That is definitely true. They were there first, as well."
[MJC:] "Kat Black almost won a LAWL Title in the past. She was set to defeat Grace Reyes for the 1337 Title but was cheated by Lucky Lupe. But tonight, Kat cleanly defeated one of the absolute best wrestlers in the world to win the coveted OMG Title and I couldn't be happier for her!"
[John:] "You definitely seem pleased."
*MJC looks to be getting emotional again...in her emotions.*
[MJC:] "You know, Kat had a difficult time when she first got to OG-Joshi. People didn't trust her because of the antics of other masked wrestlers. But she gradually won everyone over to see the kind of incredible person she is. So seeing her win a major Title after an incredible match is truly one of the best things we can hope for on what is to be the final OG-Joshi show. Especially after coming so close to beating Visper at Ragnarok. Much like Corey O'Brian did tonight, Kat just became a legend by winning the Title after beating a worthy Champion."
*Jean takes a second or too to calm down and wipes her eyes with a tissue. John waits for her to get her composure back and then continues.*
[John:] "So Jean, in case we didn't talk about OG-Joshi enough during the last match, now we'll make sure to. *Jean laughs* Because our next match-"
[MJC:] "Is for the OG-Joshi World Championship!"
[John:] "Someone's excited!"
[MJC:] "Any time that TItle is on the line, it's a major occasion. Especially tonight. Visper Karr gets her rematch against the woman who concealed her identity to win the title, Ruby Moreno. Not only that, but we also have two other competitors in this match!'
[John:] "Am I correct in that you alone chose the participants here?"
[MJC:] "Yessiree! Ruby didn't even put up a fight! I was shocked, especially since her sister Rose is one of the participants!!"
[John:] "Now...you don't have to answer this but-"
[MJC:] "To prove a point to Ruby, yes. She knows it and I know it and I'm not going to lie when it's obvious what's going on here. But I want to make something clear, I'm not doing this to be vindictive. I'm genuinely doing this to teach Ruby a lesson."
[John:] "It kinda sounds vindictive when you put it like that but that's not your style."
[MJC:] "I want to show Ruby that her sister is far more worthy then she has alleged. I want to show Rose that she belongs in a wrestling ring with her sister. And I want to show the entire world that a Championship is only as credible and prestigious as the legitimate opportunities to challenge for it that the various wrestlers on the roster get."
[John:] "Speaking of that, another wrestler is also getting quite a big opportunity here. Professor Molly Cule is in her first OG-Joshi Championship match tonight."
[MJC:] "When Visper was still World Champion, she faced Molly in a non-title match. And wowzers, Molly almost won!! She had just been in OG-Joshi for a few months and almost beat the Champ! So I don't think there's any doubt what Molly can do. And she's had great success in the ESTRELLA promotion as well, so she's no stranger to Championship gold. She also has a bone to pick with Ruby Moreno after a small war of words broke out earlier this year."
[John:] "I like Molly's inclusion here. But, to ask a potentially tough question here, Jean."
[MJC:] "Bring it on!"
[John:] "We all agree that Visper fully belongs in this match as the former Champion who never got her rematch. We can see how Molly is at the level of competition of Visper and Ruby, despite not being in OG-Joshi for long. Having almost beat Visper, she has a claim here."
[MJC:] "It's not just that. John, I didn't really discuss any of this publicly but had Ruby stole the Title, I was going to hold a Tournament to create a new one. And Molly was going to be the third seed, right behind Visper and Kat. Kat, of course, having deserved a Title shot that was stolen from her. Out of all the wrestlers who Ruby didn't somehow screw over by stealing Kat's spot, Molly was at the top of the list in my view. And I really expected great things out of her this year."
[John:] "That's very illuminating, Jean. And it's also really reassuring to see that you had a specific plan to deal with Ruby taking the Title. You were in control throughout."
[MJC:] "I'd like to think I was. Fact is, John, the second Ruby stole the Title after refusing to defend it, it would have become worthless. So we would have needed a new Title and what better way then to allow everyone on Voltage to compete for it? Ruby wasn't beating us, John."
[John:] "Wow, I gotta say, Jean. For the most polite person I've ever met, you can be tough as nails."
*Jean laughs and then winks at John.*
[MJC:] "So then, how about you ask that tough question you wanted to?"
[John:] "Well, with all you said about Rose, do you really feel she earned this shot too? I understand you wanting to prove something to Ruby. But this is the last OG-Joshi match ever under the OG-FPD banner. Do you really feel that someone who only wrestled around three matches here belongs in this kind of spotlight with these stakes?"
[MJC:] "John, if it wasn't for Rose, tonight would be completely different and way more sad. Destiny wouldn't have bought OG-Joshi for as much as it did and Holly wouldn't be better. Listen, I'm not an expert on in ring competition. I can't say exactly how good Rose is compared to the other three in this match, or the entire roster. What I can say, though, is that Rose saved OG-Joshi in her own way. And rewarding that means more to me then giving this shot to someone like Narai Kaeo who has more wins but clearly doesn't care about our spirit."
[John:] "Well said. You may get sued by Miss Matsuki, but well said."
[MJC:] "Also, Rose's accomplishments aren't shielding me from what could happen here. Maybe Rose will get eliminated first, maybe it will happen immediately. What matters more to me is that OG-Joshi as a whole wasn't eliminated by Ruby and Destiny. Not in the way they wanted. And not when they had planned. Yeah, I know that, Ruby. We all do now. Rose kept us on life support and allowed Holly to be taken off life support to be healthy again. And maybe not everyone on the roster appreciates that but, without Rose Moreno, things would be far worse then they seem right now. She earned her spot in this match. And personally, I think she's going to show that her skills are far better then anyone could have imagined."
[John:] "A very strong answer, Jean."
[MJC:] "It's just amazing to me how one Moreno represented OG-Joshi in the face of the Moreno who sought to destroy it. And even though integrity is its own reward, a spot in this match couldn't hurt too. Now, as for who I think will win-"
[John:] "I'm assuming you're bound to be impartial and can't answer-"
[MJC:] "Oh I can, and I will, John! I'm impartial in that I haven't put molasses on Ruby's boots and sent a herd of horses after her! But I'll tell you who I think will win!"
*John laughs as Jean realizes she's being a bit too pushy and blushes.*
[MJC:] "Sorry, sorry. The emotions are getting to me. But in my view, Visper Karr is the best wrestler in the world. No offense, hun."
*Jean kisses Luke on the cheek again and he's happy for the attention.*
[MJC:] "She's still the World Champion, in my eyes. And she's most likely going to formally reclaim that Title tonight. If you heard what she said last week you know why she is the epitome of an OG-Joshi World Champion and I believe she will regain it tonight.
[John:] "If she didn't, who would?"
[MJC:] "I think Molly has a real shot here. I know things are tough for her and her friends right now in ESTRELLA and Super NOVA. In fact, due to Geese's contracting of the Wrestler Tron, we all learned some of the hardships that those promotions are currently experiencing: Conquest by the Demon Army, social media domination, and a super vitamin drink that makes Dr. Schassberg's formulas look like garden variety sugar water."
[John:] "That's a bold statement."
[MJC:] "It's even stronger then Orochi-O's brand sugar water!"
[John:] "Even bolder."
[MJC:] "I hope Molly was able to come into this match with a clear head. If she has, then there's a real chance she can win this. Much like we predicted Gene Starr's success in the NEXUS match would come from his neutrality with the other wrestlers, the same can be said for Molly."
[John:] "And even though Gene didn't win, he did make it to the end. I do believe part of that success came from him being clever enough to keep out of the way of the Caesaro's war with eacb other and with Corey O'Brian. Gene played it smart and it did help him."
[MJC:] "Exactly. Now, there is a wrinkle here. Like I said before, Molly and Ruby did exchange some strong words in the past. But I think we're dealing with a case of that being overshadowed by the YEARS of sisterly rivalry between the Morenos and the anger Visper has toward Ruby. Yeah, Molly may dislike Ruby, but Rose has had her life turned upside down by her. Visper too. Molly did have that one match with Visper but there was nothing but respect exchanged from that encounter. Molly and Rose have no issues at all. So If Molly can use her scientific mind to stay neutral and detached from those rivalries, she could take this."
[John:] "Or at least write a dissertation about how she couldn't."
[MJC:] "Get some grant money, Molly!! As for Ruby, look, she's incredibly talented. I've never played that fact down at all. That's one of the reasons her actions have always bothered me so much. With all due respect to Holly, I used to say that Ruby acting the way she did was worse then Holly cause Ruby could actually back it up in the ring. And hey, I overstated that against Holly but I do think Ruby's in ring abilities eclipsed Holly's and just about everyone's except for Visper's, Jenny's, and Kat's. And even then, Ruby is just about even with them. So can she walk out of this match as the World Champion? Yes. She definitely can. She has the in ring abilities to do that. I've never doubted that. Can she win tonight? Yes."
[John:] "Honestly, Jean, that match she had with Narai Kaeo was crazy. Narai was battering her, almost criminally, for 15 minutes but Ruby rebounded and put her away with that Quartz Cutter. I think she could be the most talented wrestler in OG-Joshi and LAWL combined."
[MJC:] "I think a good argument can be made to support that. But she's gonna have problems here. Her mind is too focused on her sister and she has VIsper gunning for her. Ruby could beat any of these three wrestlers individually, much like Gene Starr could, but this is too much for her. And Visper has the clearest mind going into this match."
[John:] "I agree about Visper but not totally that Ruby is totally overwhelmed. The woman has a determination that is creepy. She kept taking Narai Kaeo's kicks to the head and didn't go down. She wanted, no, she needed to win. And she needs to win here so that she can triumphantly take the World Title to Destiny. This is all part of her plan, or her revised plan given what you said earlier, and I honestly think she's going to do it."
[MJC:] "As for Rose, I don't know how this plays out afterward. With Destiny owning OG-Joshi and influencing LAWL, Rose is at Ruby's mercy for employment. That is, unless, Rose wins tonight. She'd have to be a part of the roster if she was the new World Champion!"
[John:] "That would be a shock to Ruby. I don't know how she'd even handle that."
[MJC:] "Not well, John. Not well."
[John:] "Otherwise-"
[MJC:] "I've already begun speaking to my friends in other promotions to find Rose work. Some place where Ruby has absolutely no influence. Rose is a great wrestler. A young one that still needs more experience, but she has at least all the raw talent that her sister does. I hope Rose gets the chance to take her career as far as she can go. And if she can perform well tonight, I'm sure she'll get a spot offered to her somewhere else."
[John:] "Have Rose and Ruby ever wrestled before?"
[MJC:] "No. Other then maybe near a cookie jar or something."
[John:] "What was that about the Rookie Jar?"
[MJC:] "I hope Furis is ok."
[John:] "Me too. I suppose. Anyway, this could get pretty heated between Rose and Ruby.. Who knows how the two are going to respond to each other, after years of tension, now that they'll be doing battle for the same prize? And after Rose short-circuited Ruby's plan?"
[MJC:] "I guess we're going to have to find out. But it makes me feel comfortable knowing that Ruby and Molly are there. Even though they want to win, they are also good people. And if they see Rose is getting in any kind of serious trouble, they'll 'redirect' Ruby's attention."
[John:] "With a kick to the face, from Visper, most likely."
[MJC:] "If necessary."
[John:] "Ha. So, all the wrestlers are in the ring now. Gotta hand it to Ruby for not having a showy entrance but just walking down to the ring on time. Jean, you ready for this?"
[MJC:] "No, not at all. AS much as I like the odds for a new Champion, I don't really want to sit here and watch the final OG-Joshi match ever. This is torture for me, John. One of the saddest days of my life. I really wish this wasn't happening. But, I'm comforted knowing that there are good things that will follow for me, thanks to Luke over here. And I know every wrestler in this match and promotion will go onto bigger and better things too. So..."
*Jean stands up from the announce booth with a microphone. She looks at the crowd and then at the wrestlers in the ring.*
[MJC:] "Let's do this, OG-Joshi. Let's go out like true Champions."
*She blows her coach whistle and the timekeeper rings the bell.*
