Scene opens to the ring. Lighting is low, a spotlight is on, but not highlighting Visper Karr, who stands in the center of the ring. She's draped in a flag, wrapped around to the front of her, as she stares toward the camera.
[Visper:] This is supposed to be a time of giving thanks - hell, of giving in general. Of happiness and joy. And, on most occasions, I love this time of year. But, I find myself conflicted this year. Much has happened in a short period of time, and much of my life has been turned on its ear. I'm not alone in this holiday upheaval, of course, but nobody has exactly seen fit to Occupy OG-Joshi.
So, where do I start? The return of Celes? The healing of Holly Walker? The selling off of OG-Joshi to Ruby Moreno? Perhaps the last show, Immortal, where I'll be trying to reclaim the OG-Joshi World Championship, and right a painful wrong?
No, I think I'll talk about the exodus.
Since the news, there has been a rash of, well, abandonments. OG-Joshi wrestlers, leaving their posts, heading out while they think the getting is good, none of them seem to be thinking about the consequences of their actions.
OG-Joshi is not dying, it is not dead. There are changes, but change is inevitable. However, OG-Joshi can die, if we let it. If we abandon it to a fate worse than death. But now, it seems many of you are tucking tail and running, jumping overboard like rats on a sinking ship.
But not I.
Long ago, I stood in this ring, and made my declaration; OG-Joshi is safe, it is free from danger, from manipulation, from those that would do it harm, so long as we, its competitors, will it to be. And so many of you stood alongside me, in this very ring, and made that declaration with me. To say that OG-Joshi stood for something; that OG-Joshi had a spirit and a hope and a purpose and a passion that means something, and that "something" was worth keeping. Worth struggling to maintain. Worth fighting for. Worth suffering for.
I became the torchbearer for OG-Joshi on that night. The guiding light. The hope for the future. The one to lead the fight.
And I will fight. I will not surrender.
You! Do not give up the fight! Do not abandon OG-Joshi when she needs you most! Do not keep calm and carry on! Because life, because OG-Joshi doesn't end at Immortal; it begins!
As Visper speaks, she spreads her arms out, the OG-Joshi flag flying proudly at her back, lilting in a gentle breeze despite bring indoors. Fade out, as the camera focuses on the passionate, determined face of the former OG-Joshi World Champion, Visper Karr.
