OG-Joshi Amplitude: July 2011 - "BBQitude"
Location: The Amplitheater, Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.
Amplitude is the last stop on the road to an unknown destiny for OG-Joshi. But while that may seem cliche, the actual name of the upcoming summer PPV is "Destiny Unknown!" Luckily, at least for those that get anxiety about leaving too much to chance, we will soon determine at least one match for "Destiny Unknown" as tonight we hold the semifinals of the #1 Contender tournament to the Amplitude Title. The winners of both matches will face each other at the PPV for the right to face Amplitude Champion Eris Byrne in the future.
We start tonight with another sign in the direction of the vast future: new wrestlers making their debut!! But to continue the theme of partial uncertainty, we still have no idea who both wrestlers are! We know that Yasuko Mizuki was signed to wrestle in this match but her opponent has remained a mystery. Yasuko, for her part, damning secrecy, has worn her heart on her sleeve in informing OG-Joshi and its fans about her life and career. She already has a large fan contingent due to her heartwarming/wrenching story and is primed to be a force in OG-Joshi.
But questions revolve around who her opponent will be, where she came from, and why Coach Carter has wanted to keep her secret. Luckily for us, this mystery can't continue for much longer...unless the wrestler wears a mask. Oh no, that would really prolong this wouldn't it?!
And Yasuko comes out first to perhaps the biggest show of applause a debuting wrestler has every gotten in OG-Joshi. There are also a lot of green armbands and streamers in the crowd and wow, the fans just threw them into the ring for Yasuko!! Yasuko looks shocked that she is getting so much support here! Streamers for her debut match!! She bows to the fans and thanks them when the music stops and lights go out. When they come back on, Yasuko is looking out to her opponent standing on the ramp.

.
It's Wongirland from the FPCPP! She is the newest member of the OG-Joshi roster and is apparently Yasuko's opponent for tonight. Rumor has it that Wongirland is the student of Wonderland, the former FPCPP World Champion and man who ended Orochi Geese's reign with that Title. So it's quite interesting that she has been signed to an OG-Joshi contract. And Yasuko knows she has a tall order in this match due to Wongy's training. This is a huge match for both of them to start their OG-Joshi careers and the fans are quite aware of this too through their excitement!

And if the fans were energized before, they are absolutely rabid after seeing this match! For two rookies to put on such a showing is a very good indication for their and OG-Joshi's future. Even Coach Carter has come out and given them both an ovation!
As for the match itself, Yasuko won with her very impressive finisher but not without a ton of effort from Wongirland and a number of near falls on her part. It was astonishing that Yasuko was able to kick out of Wongy's suplexes and it seemed like a tossup who would win this match, but Yasuko dug deep down to earn this victory in their duel debuts.
Wongirland (X) [Emerald Flowsion Kai - 19:27] (O) Yasuko Mizuki
*After Yasuko and Wongy go backstage, we see the Arctic Angels making their way to the ring. As usual, Teresa is bouncy and energetic, slapping hands and just generally having fun while Xouxou calmly slaps hands and makes her way into the ring; the latter is carrying a white teddy bear. Both of the Angels are wearing very distinct red and white attire, with none of their traditional black to be seen. After making her rounds on the outside, Teresa jumps into the ring with a microphone and proceeds to start things off in her usual way….
[Teresa:]You know, I might not show it too often but I really LOVE what I do!
*light laughter from the audience*
And although Xouxou usually doesn’t say it, she really loves what she does!
I’m not going to bore you guys with all of the reasons why we love this but along with getting to entertain each and every one of you people, one of the things we love the most is that this job truly lets us be ourselves. Believe me, not everyone can say that about their work.
If you hadn’t noticed, a big part of our identity lies in the fact that we’re both Canadians from places you’ve never heard of. That’s no knock on anyone but I bet the lot of you still don’t know where Dawson even is. That’s okay, if I hadn’t grown up there I probably wouldn’t either.
*Scattered laughter*
The reason we’re out here today is to honor the best holiday of the year, Canada Day! I bet you were wondering about our outfits. It’s not just every day that we wear these, so that should tell you just how special our celebration is! As second generation Canadians, it’s a very big deal for Xouxou and I so we wanted to share it with all of you. Now unfortunately, we’re a little late in doing this, but we really couldn’t come out here when there was no show, now could we? Well, I guess we could have, but it would have been awkward.
*Xouxou looks at Teresa in silent dumbfoundment*
Right…anyhow, now that I’ve had my annual beer run and Xouxou’s had her fill of sockeye and poutine (where she puts it all I don’t know)…
*Xouxou shakes her head, blushing mildy*
….we’ve decided that we’re going to close this year’s Canada Day celebration with the help of you guys. Now, even if you’re not Canadian, we still want you guys to feel special so feel free to just pretend it’s Fourth July; we’re pretty close on the calendar anyway, right? Hahaha Xouxou, you’re up!
*Xouxou takes the microphone from Teresa and in a voice that is every bit as calm and patient as one would expect of her demeanor, she speaks:
[Xouxou:]The last time we were out here, we unofficially introduced you to our plushie buddy N’usi so I suppose this is her official unveiling.
*Xouxou holds up the white teddy bear that’s wearing a Canadian Flag hockey jersey*
I have to admit, I think she’s quite cute. The reason that we, two highly competitive professional wrestlers, chose N’usi as our mascot is because she reminds us of home. While we love you guys to death and love being able to travel, having N’usi with us reminds us who we are, where we’re from, and that we’re out here to have fun. So now that you know who N’usi is and why she’s out here, I guess there’s only one thing to do in this celebration; RELEASE THE BEARS!
*At Xouxou’s command, dozens of miniature white teddy bears with emblazoned red maple leafs fall from the rafters onto the crowd below along with hundreds of red and white balloons, delighting the children in the crowd and eliciting applause and approval from the majority attendance*
[Teresa:]I guess Xouxou forgot to mention that N’usi had friends, haha! We want you to take N’usi’s friends home with you and whenever you take a look at them, we want you to think about not just the Angels who gave them to you but what the Angels represent. We hope you and your families enjoy them! Happy belated holiday to all of you!
*The music hits and Teresa and Xouxou make their way backstage, with Teresa slapping hands along the way and Xouxou waving N’usi above her head in salute to those who have bears. A good time was had by all...
Which isn't always an indicator of the good times to come. As the individuals who come out next appear none too pleased at the teddy bears and balloons that have blanketed this arena.
The Dod Squod: Raining on Canada Day Parades since 2011...or perhaps earlier!
Jane Dod spots a little girl sitting near the entry way. The girl just happened to be one of the lucky recipients of a teddy bear. But Jane grabs the bear and rips its head off!! That causes the girl to cry and former cheerleader Polly to frown. Polly then put the headless teddy bear around her own neck (piggy-back style) as she skips to the ring, popping balloons along the way as if she was playing hopscotch!
The fans don't know whether to be more offended by Jane's outright vile attitude or Polly's more playfully disturbing behavior, but they're certainly jeering their hearts out! The Dods make their way to the ring after popping every last balloon that happened to spill over to the ramp and the crowd is livid at this despicable display on this, the celebration of Canada Day!
And perhaps we're leading to a fan frenzy as none other then Lina comes out next! L-Section is freaking out and even though they didn't have streamers, they are throwing their clothing onto the ramp! This is nuts! And then Jenna Stone comes out and ramps the fans up even more! Lina and Jenna are as pumped up as ever to face the Dods. Lina is especially angry at the Dods for jumping her as she tried to come to Gutter's aid after their match against the Gymnasts at the previous show. Jenna helped Lina before any real harm could come to her but the Dods intended to powerbomb her off the apron and it's unlikely Lina took kindly to that.
Furthermore, Lina needs to win this match to get her conditional shot at the OG-Joshi Tag Team Championship at Destiny Unknown. Whether she picks Jenna or not to team with her on that show, Lina and Jenna must win tonight. If the Dods win, it could force a rematch with the winner going to the PPV. And that could very well happen. Lina and her various tag partners over the last few months have managed to beat some teams with very high chemistry. But the Dods do not merely have a close relationship, they also have main event experience and have held prestigious Titles: Something that Team Chuu Chuu and the Gymnasts have not. We know how dangerous the Dods could be, holding victories over some of the best teams in OG-Joshi. Lina and Jenna still have to be at their very best, separately and together, to have a shot tonight.

A HUGE win for Lina and Jenna!! And not only has Jenna helped Lina get her Title match, but Jenna also made a powerful case for herself to be chosen as Lina's tag title contending partner! Very few women hold any type of victory over Polly Dod, whether in singles or tag competition. But Jenna just used her high impact finisher to defeat Polly via pinfall and seal the victory for her and Lina.
And the Dods are too tired to even attack after this match which has allowed Lina and Jenna to celebrate in the ring. The fans are going nuts for both and L-Section is practically euphoric at the idea that Lina will be getting her first shot at an OG-Joshi Championship at Destiny Unknown.
As Lina is walking up the ramp, a teddy bear is thrown from the upper deck into her hands. This teddy bear is no longer wearing a Canada Day shirt...but an L-Section shirt. Lina doesn't know how to react and just walks backstage emotionless. Jenna gives the teddy bear to the girl near the ramp who earlier had her's stolen and destroyed by Jane. The crowd "ooohs" at the tender moment.
Lina/Jenna Stone (O) ["Powerstone Driver" - 23:42] (X) Polly/Jane Dod
*We go to commercials for LAWLiday 2011 and when we come back to the arena, it's time for intermission as we have reached the midpoint of the show. As the fans return to their seats after buying and consuming snacks, Coach Jean Carter comes out with a microphone.*
[Jean:] "Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying the final Amplitude before Destiny Unknown!
Congratulations to Lina and Jenna for winning their match. I'd like to wish
Lina, and whoever her partner may be, the best of luck at the PPV."
*The crowd responds in kind with cheers for Lina, especially the
L-Section who MJC looks warily at as they are still quite boisterous right now.*
[Jean:] "We're now ready for the second round of the #1 Contender Tournament.
These will be our CO-main events of the night as they are equally important.
However, since we couldn't very well have both occur at the same time,
I flipped a coin backstage to determine who went on first. But the luck
of the draw will only take them so far as whoever ends up as the #1 contender
at Destiny Unknown will have earned it and be worthy Championship material.
[Voice:] "Did someone say championship material?"
*Eris Byrne steps out onto the ramp, the Amplitude title draped over her
shoulder and microphone in hand. She looks out over the crowd, brushes
an errant strand of hair from her face, and addresses Jean Carter once more.*
[Eris:] "Worthy? Give me a break. The only one I even know is Hello Kitty
Mask, and I beat her so badly that she won't even show her face anymore..."
[Jean:] "I'll have you know that Tigress Mask II has come a long way
since then. You shouldn't be rude about the mask legacy or underestimate-"
[Eris:] "Yeah, yeah. Whatever. What's important is that you haven't given
me a match all year, ever since I beat your little friend Gutter at
Ragnarok. And I'm not even due for the big show? I'm starting to think
you're holding a grudge, mic girl..."
*MJC looks a bit flustered*
[Jean:] "I've always shown you and your Title respect, Miss Byrne.
If I didn't, I'd hardly be holding this whole tournament to give
you a worthy contender. Now I'm not sure why you're out here right now-"
[Eris:] "Cool down. I'm just here to watch the show since there's nothing
else going on in this place. As for the PPV, don't worry yourself. I'm
sure I'll find some way to ... entertain myself."
[Jean:] "I think the next two matches should be more then ample
entertainment. Just make sure you watch them with your eyes,
and not your hands. Or else our next conversation won't be
as pleasant. Now if you don't mind, we have a show to return to."
*Eris smirks and gives Jean a lazy mock salute before walking down
towards the ring, slowing down occasionally to trade insults with some
of the many fans booing her. She circles the ring and heads over to the
time keeper's desk, taking an empty chair. She puts her feet up on the
table, drapes the championship belt over her legs, and leans back to
enjoy the co-main events.*
And we turn next to the first of those co-main events pitting Inza G. against Heather Heaton. Heather had the harder obstacle to get through in the first round, having a 20 minute war with Minerva. Inza plowed through Sandy Morton rather easily, which is far from the first time anyone has said that before. However with Heather's last two opponents being the violent Firefly and Minerva, it is quite likely that Heather is more fatigued then Inza. .
You wouldn't know it by looking at her though as she strolls down to ringside, accompanied by Rachel Sky, to audience cheers and catcalls. Heather enjoys the reaction and saunters down the ramp, seemingly ignoring Eris, but then instructs Rachel to keep an eye out for her. Rachel nods attentively and appears excited to be Heather's ring second tonight in this big match. Next, Inza jogs down the ramp as LOLCat follows. The two also get a lot of audience support. LOLCat wags his finger at Eris and says: "Dont be meeen to Jeen plz". Eris rolls her eyes and Inza smartly guides him away from Eris before her patience wears thin. Inza is full of energy tonight and shakes the hand of Heather, who seems to be looking Inza up and down and enjoying what she sees. She smirks and Inza begins to wear the same expression she used to have when she worked out with Holly.
Both women have about equal experience in OG-Joshi. Inza has the speed and agility advantage while Heather is the superior technical and submission wrestler. But both have a spark that delights the audience. Let's see which one of these charismatic young women can do it!

Inza attacked with near reckless abandon here and Heather did all she could do to slow Inza down. But it was simply not enough on this occasion. Heather was able to apply some of her signature submissions but it did not keep Inza down or winded enough to prevent her from going to her high flying arsenal. And after Heather could no longer resist Inza's attractiveness and proceeded to kiss her, Inza had enough and put Heather away with the same hurracarana she defeated Sandy Morton with!!
After the match was over, Rachel appeared to apologize on Heather's behalf for the kiss, despite Heather not appearing too regretful. But to confirm there were no hard feelings between the duos, Rachel happily shook hands with Inza, wished her luck, and petted LOLCat. LOLCat appeared to like Rachel and hugged her snugly, which prompted an eyebrow raise from Heather. Rachel got embarrassed when she saw Heather enjoying her hug a little too much, thanked LOLCat and went backstage. Eris appeared to be snoring throughout the post match segment.
Inza G. (O) [Hurracarana- 18:11] (X) Heather Heaton
Next up we haveHello Kitty Tigress Mask II facing off with Firefly. It is unlikely those two will have a match full of as much mutual respect as the one we just saw.. In fact, given how Tigress Mask II is a good friend of Jean Carter's, it's likely that Firefly will up the ante of violence. Firefly has pledged and delivered a one woman crusade against Jean Carter and anyone she is friends with. After defeating Heather Heaton and H. over the last few shows, Firefly has her sights firmly set on getting to the PPV and winning herself a shot at the Amplitude Title.
Tigress Mask II, comes to the ring first to a lot of cheers. The fans are even more in tune with TMII's spirit after seeing her defeat Lori Cuozzo in what could be considered an upset during the first round. TM II has an incredible level of momentum coming into tonight and really hopes to get to the PPV. But when Firefly comes out, it's made abundantly clear that this will be a rough road for TM II. Firefly doesn't waste any time and immediately gets into the ring and slaps TMII. The fans are infuriated but TM II doesn't back down like she used to in these situations. Instead, she chops Firefly right across the chest, causing the fans to cheer, and we get right into this match!!

Tigress Mask gave all she could and the fans are showing their support for her as a result. But it just wasn't enough. Despite her submissions, punishing suplexes, and an awe inspiring jump to the outside when she should have been completely drained of energy, Firefly hung on. And she could probably have chosen to pin TM II after that rebound DDT but snapped and put the boots to her! Whether she was frustrated at her resiliency throughout the match or just wanted to hurt her, the 'Garvin stomp' was put to effective use, causing the ref to call for the bell before severe damage was done to the vulnerable TM II. And there's good evidence of Firefly's malicious intentions given Firefly's immediate uranage on TM II after the bell!
Tigress Mask II (X) [Garvin Stomp- 22:15] (O) Firefly
Firefly is not letting up but luckily for TM II, Inza G. and LOLCat come to her aid!! They run Firefly off, who doesn't seem to keen on facing a 1 on 3, while Eris looks on smirking at the situation. Inza and LOLCat help TM II up and she doesn't appear to be too injured. Firefly goes up the ramp and glares at Inza G, furious that she got in her way. Inza returns the glare, just as angry that Firefly would attack someone after the match. Meanwhile, LOLCat asks Tigress Mask 'are u a kitty too?" Tigress Mask nods and LOLCat hugs her as well. The show ends with the final shot of Inza and Firefly staring at each other and then directing their gaze at Eris who is standing in the crowd and holding her OG-Joshi Amplitude Title belt high.

Next up we have
Tigress Mask II, comes to the ring first to a lot of cheers.

We'll see you at the Destiny Unknown PPV at the end of the summer!
