OG-Joshi Amplitude: May 2011 - "Springitude"
Location: The Amplitheater, Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.
Welcome to Amplitude as a major tournament begins to decide the #1 Contender to the Amplitude Championship! The tournament will consist of four matches tonight, part of next month's show, and will then conclude at the PPV this summer.
*The OG-Joshi Coach, 'Mean' Jean Carter comes out first with a microphone and a concerned look on her face.*
[MJC:] "I am sadly aware of the closing and arson of Orochi-O's Land this weekend. I know that many park guests over the years are also OG-Joshi and UBL fans. I am soooo sorry that you had to witness what occurred and I sincerely hope that none of you were hurt.
Furthermore, I also know that many people purchased a package deal which included opening weekend admission for Orochi-O's Land as well as tickets to tonight's show. If anyone has copies of those tickets, we will be reimbursing you for this show to compensate you for losing access to the theme park and the disgusting threats of what would happen if you tried to get reimbursed for park admission.
I haven't always approved of how Robin Walker often used the park to advance her own agenda and propaganda but I know many fans still enjoyed their time there and have treasured family memories. What happened was a tragedy and and a horrible way to start the summer. Let's hope OG-Joshi can fix that a little bit tonight and do our best to entertain you all."
*MJC smiles at the fans and gets applauded as she leaves.*
We continue things on a highly positive note as crowd favorite Inza G. comes out next and is joined by her new "manager", LOL Cat. LOL Cat has come down in an outfit very similar to Coach Jean Carter's, complete with matching whistle. It can be assumed that Jean supports this imitation and thinks its quite adorable that LOLCat is wearing 'people clothes.' Inza appears incredibly excited to be in this tournament and, although she's enjoying LOLCat's frolicking, is ready to get down to business.

A clear win for Inza against the scrappy but relatively unskilled Sandy Morton. Inza shows just how much she wants a shot at the Amplitude Title by actually daring to wrap her legs around Sandy's head. She hopefully has a de-tox appointment scheduled soon.
Inza G. (O) [Hurracarana - 15:29] (X) Sandy Morton
Inza goes to shake Sandy's hand and help her up off the mat. Sandy accepts her hand but then falls back down: her backward motion sending Inza crashing into the turnbuckle, stunning her. Linda gets into the ring and appears about ready to attack Inza but then LOLCat rolls in and gets in her way. Linda quickly changes her expression and goes with Sandy to help Inza up and apologize. Then they walk back up the ramp muttering to each other while Inza looks on very confused as to what just happened. It goes without saying that LOLCat is confused as well but he quickly changes tune, starts dancing, and gets the crowd cheering for Inza's victory!
*A small intro video plays showing new wrestler Yasuko Mizuki elbowing a heavy bag while her spoken voiceover recites: "I know what I'm fighting for, and because of that I shall never relent." Text on the screen then says: "Yasuko Mizuki: Coming to Amplitude in June." The crowd cheers heavily at this and looks very excited for her debut while buzzing about who she will actually wrestle.*
We cut backstage to where Yoyo Banzai is coming to the arena with DARKNESS! Diva. Hayley Storm approaches Yoyo and starts yelling at her for what happened during their match at the previous Orochi-O's TV where Hayley was busted open. Yoyo looks annoyed and she, along with Diva, start attacking Hayley. But Hayley's Gen X teammate Shay Creed comes to her aid and levels Yoyo with a chair straight to the face: the impact knocking her out cold. Diva runs away screaming for help while Hayley thanks Shay and compliments her form.
Our next tournament match has H. facing Firefly. These two have actually teamed together in the past, before Firefly showed her true violent revolutionary colors. H. isn't one to suffer that kind of behavior though and will sure do what she can to keep Firefly from further advancing her attitude throughout OG-Joshi. But after we saw Firefly beat and brutalize Heather Heaton in the "No Escape" match at the last Amplitude, can H. put up enough of a fight to stand in her way?

Random Magic Number 8 ball generator says...no. Firefly takes this match with her finisher and puts down yet another obstacle to her ascent. While H had a number of opportunities to win, it seemed Firefly would just not be stopped in vying for the #1 Contender spot.
H. (X) [Back Roll Neck Lock- 16:24] (O) Firefly
We get a break from the tournament action and turn our attention to another title: The Tag Team Championships. Lynn "Lina" Malloy has been offered a Tag Title shot at the PPV with a partner of her choosing providing she has nominal success in this division until then. While we are not sure who she will pick if she gets to the PPV, word is that she has been considering many candidates. She scouted a former opponent, Molly Cule, at last month's Voltage and will now be walking down to the ring with the former #1 Contender to the Amplitude Championship, Gutter. At Ragnarok, Gutter pushed Amplitude Champion, Eris Byrne, just as hard and far as Lina had in past matches.
Their opponents are the struggling team of the Gymnasts: Kellie Boone and Xiang Li. While the two have shown much promise in their physical abilities, they have dropped the last few months of matches to teams like Chanel and Lorelai as well as the Arctic Angels who recently beat them twice in a row on Orochi-O's TV. In this match it seems that the Gymnasts have the advantage in teamwork against the new pairing of Gutter and Lina. But will the experience advantage be enough to take on two of the top wrestlers on this roster?

Apparently not! As two of the best wrestlers on the Amplitude, nay, OG-Joshi roster just schooled two up and coming tag wrestlers. Gutter and Lina took control of a hard-fought match and made Xiang Li tap out. You have to feel for the Gymnasts here but Gutter is tough as nails and Lina is a whirlwind of energy, aggression, and fisticuffs.
Kellie/Xiang (X) [Prison Lock - 26:28] (O) Gutter/Lina
Speaking of fisticuffs, Judy Bones has just run out from the crowd and pulled Gutter outside the ring! How did Judy escape her prison detail? Gutter certainly doesn't have the answer to that question as her long time enemy and tormentor pounds on her with brass knuckles while alternately stroking her head and increasingly bloody hair. The fans are recoiling at this disgusting display!
Lina attempts to come to her aid but she is taken out from behind by the Dod Squod! They appear furious at her and are screaming: "You don't get our Tag Title shot!" while knocking her all around the ring. Polly Dod looks to be setting her up for a PollyWhirl~ from the apron to the outside but fellow energy whirlwhind, Jenna Stone comes to Lina's aid with a chair! Jenna is swinging it around like she's in a tornado and the Dods bail out before ending up in Oz.
Meanwhile, a mixture of Genji Security and the NYC police department have grabbed ahold of Judy Bones, tazered her, and removed her from the arena floor. But the damage to Gutter is clear. Along with being covered in her own blood, she has turned completely pale and rolled into fetal position under the ring apron. Jean Carter comes down, in tears, to help her backstage but it literally takes ten minutes for Gutter to come back out from under the ring. When she does, she runs backstage as fast as she can with Jean following her.
*Commercials air for the Universal Battle League Circuit Show for May 2011.*
*Our next match was scheduled to be Tigress Mask II facing Yoyo Banzai but a very frazzled Jean Carter comes out with a microphone.*
[MJC:] "I have to keep this as short as possible just so I can get back to Gutter. Due to Yoyo Banzai being knocked out, in a fight that she started, I am replacing her in this tournament with someone else. Tigress Mask II will be facing the very tough Lori Cuozzo, a woman who almost won the Number One Contender's Battle Royale back at the Renaissance PPV to get a shot at the World Title. Although Kat beat her, Lori showed a lot of promise and I think she deserves this chance at earning another Title shot. Enjoy the show, everyone!"
Jean goes backstage as the fans look pretty pumped at this announcement given the success Lori Cuozzo has had in the past. However, she is up against the new wearer of the Tigress Mask, Naomi. Naomi returned to the Amplitude brand specifically for this tournament at the suggestion of Coach Carter so you know she's intensely motivated. Lori comes out first and is very confident while she walks down to the ring. We know she is going to put up a real fight here and will not go down easy against the smaller Tigress Mask II.
But as Tigress Mask II comes down to the ring, she does not appear to be intimidated (not that we'd really know behind that mask). The fans have applauded her success over the last few years, especially her big victory over her mentor Tigress Mask at Ragnarok to be named the new wearer of the mask. Her submission arsenal is growing and she is also starting to show a quick impact influenced power game with her suplexes. She will need her speed against the larger and more physically imposing Lori. But most of all, she will need her spirit and resiliency to weather the punishing moves that Lori uses. If Lori can keep Tigress Mask II on the ground and in her control, this will be a very quick and painful match. Tigress has to

What a battle Lori just gave here! It appeared she had the match won with that brutal snap powerbomb but somehow TM II perservered! And then she showed a sign of respect to her opponent by bowing before winning with the cyclone rana! It's incredible how both women were able to get their momentum back in this match after their opponents controlled it for so long but a strong showing for each one of them here. Tigress Mask II looks ecstatic to be advancing to the next round of the tournament.
Tigress Mask II (O) [Cyclone Rana- 19:19] (X) Lori Cuozzo
And we're ready for our main event now as Heather Heaton comes down to the ring. She is the leader of the female Gen X team and is one of the favorites to win this tournament. However, after her loss to Firefly at the last show, she appears to be taking tonight's match more seriously then usual. Not only because she wants to win the Tournament, but because of the type of wrestler her opponent is.
She is set to face Minerva, the wife of UBL's Athrin Kazama, himself the head of the Fuzen Tara Seitan stable. Minerva is just as vicious as Athrin as well as Firefly and Heather wants to avoid being the victim of yet another bloody battle and having her beautiful face scarred. So she is sure to concentrate on using her technical superiority to keep Minerva on the ground and away from any foreign objects. Heather better be prepared to go through hell here as she did against Firefly, but this time find a way out. Minerva better be ready to keep Heather down there and avoid any of her risque submissions while attempting to use one of her own brutal suplexes on Heather.
Minerva has come out to the ring and is brandishing a kusarigama much like her husband has. But Gen X members Rachel, Hayley, and Shay come down to ringside and stay in Heather's corner to make sure this is a fair and safe match.

Luckily there was no time limit here as Heather cinches on her Christo at exactly the 20 minute mark! Minerva put up plenty of fight, perhaps her greatest effort in OG-Joshi so far, but fell to the leader of Gen X in an excellent match.
Heather Heaton (O) [Christo - 20:00] (X) Minerva
Before Minerva even has a chance to even think "REVENGE!", Gen X gets into the ring to back up Heather. Minerva leaves the ring after staring down Heather and grinning. Rachel and Hayley put Heather on their shoulders and celebrate as the show comes to a close. Heather appears to enjoy her thighs resting on Rachel's shoulder and strokes her hair while smiling.
We'll see you next month for the second round of the Amplitude Title tournament!
