The sound of Garbage’s “When I Grow Up” fills the arena as the team of Teresa Tanaka and Xouxou Chen make their way to the ring. Xouxou is carrying a large cloth sack and Teresa is wearing a plain gray hoodie over her normal ring gear. As Xouxou enters the ring, Teresa grabs a microphone. After she enters the ring, she proceeds to lie across one of the turnbuckles, a la Eddie Guerrero. In an atypically relaxed, unexcited tone she speaks:
Teresa: You know, since the time we started on this nice stretch of matches, something’s dawned on Xouxou and I. It’s come to our attention that all the other teams here have a real cutesy type team name. You got your Dod Sisters, your Deities (god hate 'em), your Gymnasts and so forth but us, well, we’re just Tanaka and Chen or Xouxou and Teresa. Or at least we’ve been until now. See, we came to the realization that our lack of a team name has hurt us in the eyes of you, the fans. Don’t get us wrong, we like our own names but hers isn’t exactly common and mine is TOO common. I mean, how many wrestling Tanakas can you name? Exactly! That’s why we’ve decided to introduce our very own cutesy little team name.
Teresa jumps off the turnbuckle.
She takes a deep breath and in a comically forced imitation of a ring announcer, she says:
“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls; standing in the ring now, from Calgary, Alberta by way of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories and Dawson, Yukon at a total combined weight of 114 kilos, Teresa Tanaka, Xouxou Chen, the ARCTIC ANGELS!”
The two make a gesture towards each other as if they’re presenting each other.
At this point, Tanaka removes her hoodie to reveal a white t-shirt with the words “Arctic Angels” written on the front in stylized Black and tundra-green font. As she looks at the crowd and points to her shirt, Xouxou casually takes the microphone from her.
Xouxou: Hi. Just so you know, I want to assure you that this new name is for all YOU folks watching and NOT for us. We just wanted you to have a neat name to associate with our wrestling abilities. To show you we mean business, let me show you what’s in the bag here.
Teresa helps Xouxou open up the bag, first pulling out a t-shirt identical to her own and draping it around Xouxou’s neck. Xouxou then pulls out a small white teddy-bear that is wearing a smaller version of her and Teresa’s t-shirt.
She hands a few of them to Teresa who begins chucking them into various places in the audience. Xouxou takes an armful of them and slides out of the ring. She very pointedly gives a bear to each of the children setting in the front couple of rows. As she’s doing this, Teresa grabs the last few remaining in the sack and she throws them out as well. She then grabs the mic.
Teresa: Hey, so you don’t feel left out, everyone can grab one on the way out today, FREE of CHARGE! Enjoy the toys and keep your eyes out for the Angels! Hit our NEW MUSIC!
Classified’s “Oh, Canada” plays as the Artic Angels head backstage, slapping hands with the crowd as they exit.
