OG-Joshi Amplitude: March 2011 - "Amoritude"

Location: The Amplitheater, Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.

Valentine's Day has passed but we're in for some PRO WRES LOVE tonight as Amplitude has its first official show of 2011! After Gutter and Amplitude Champion Eris Byrne represented this brand so well at Ragnarok, and then Lina defeated Voltage's Molly Cule at Orochi-O's TV, everyone backstage is buzzing about the potential opportunities for this brand to skyrocket this year. Coach Carter even previously mentioned a surprise for this brand after certain lingering rivalries are put to rest. So everyone is eager to win and impress tonight: Including wrestlers from rivalries that are still getting started like the one we will start with right now.

Gen X's Rachel Sky and Juli Tanaka first faced off in a tag match at the October Amplitude and then each wanted to face each other again. There's no anger here, just a rivalry of mutual respect between the surly veteran, Juli, and the charismatic rookie Rachel We've got something old and something new here. Also, both wrestlers have blue in their attire. And one can only assume Heather Heaton asked if Rachel wanted to borrow any of her undergarments. (and that Rachel promptly refused the offer while blushing). But no marriage made in heaven/hell here, or prolonged delayed Valentine's Day references, just an exciting matchup to start this show off!

What a finish! Rachel with two huge hurracaranas keeping Juli off balance and pinned down. Juli had a number of good shots in this match too but Rachel's enthusiasm led to this victory! The fans really love this as a new favorite of theirs in Rachel has just gotten her first official win on Amplitude! Juli shakes her hand and appears to be asking for a rematch which Rachel gladly agrees to.

Next we have the up and coming team of Teresa Tanaka and Xouxou Chen facing off with Valencia Cruz and Gabriella Breeze of the Royal Detiies. Both of these teams have one member who is blindingly quick and one member who is feared. Teresa and Valencia both are the agile members of their team while Xouxou is deadly with submissions and Gabriella is one of the largest and most powerful women on the roster. If Xouxou can get going early with her limb targeting, she can slow down Valencia and take some of the momentum away from Gabi's moves. But if Gabi has some early success, you can kiss this match goodbye for Teresa and Xouxou. After the series between Gabi and Tigerfly Sword, it's very clear just how dangerous Gabriella can be. But we can't discount the ability of Valencia who almost defeated Tigerfly Sword last year! Much to their credit, however, Teresa and Xouxou do not appear intimidated at facing these two, nor do the Deities seem to be nervous about their competition. Let's get to the ring and see which team prevails!

After a grueling match, Teresa is able to win with the exciting "Flying Squirrel!" You've gotta hand it to all four wrestlers for their teamwork and resiliency but I think Teresa and Xouxou just wanted this victory more so that they could further stand out from the pack of dedicated tag teams. Tonight's victory has to get them onto MJC's radar and within reach of Title contention.

Meanwhile, Avalon has come down to the ring and is royally pissed at the situation. The Deities attack Xouxou and Teresa but they are saved by Tigerfly Sword who has run out to ringside! Tigerfly is on Voltage but she must have been backstage waiting for Avalon and the Deities to pull something like this! We have a staredown here which is finally broken up by Genji Security.

*As Genji clears the scene, we go to commercials for the upcoming LAWLiday "Cinco de LAWLo" show*


Amplitude comes back from commercial, and we find ourselves in the
arena once more. In the center of the ring, head held high and
microphone in hand, stands the Amplitude Champion Eris Byrne. She looks
out over the crowd, pauses for a moment, and raises the microphone.

[Eris:] "The world ended with Ragnarok, and the Goddess still stands tall!"

[Eris:] "Seems a lot of shit got stirred up over on the other show
when they let a California fruit wrestler in, dressed as a ninja, to
steal their title. And what has happened for us this year? We beat them
in the first inter-show match of the year, with ease. So much for the 'A
show'... if the people 'in charge' can't stop just about anyone from coming in
and raising havoc, we'll just have to cause our own and defend our turf."

She looks out over the crowd, as if challenging their reactions.

[Eris:] "I don't give a shit if you like me, and most of you don't.
But you all know I rock this place, and you can't help but respect me -
there's no denying that..."

Eris smirks, letting the worst of the reactions die down before
raising her hand to call for silence and continuing.

[Eris:] "I've got a message for all of you," *She motions to the crowd*
"...all of you," *She points directly at the camera* "...and especially all of you."

She turns, pointing to the entrance ramp, and towards the locker
rooms behind the curtains.

[Eris:] "I am your champion. I rule this show. I AM this show. That
means I fight and bleed for this place, but also that each and every
potential opponent reflects on me. A champion's throne is hoisted up by
her challengers... so the Goddess of Chaos is issuing a divine decree to
all of you backstage. Turn up the heat, turn up the noise, and show the
world what Amplitude is all about. So says the TRUE World Champion of OG-Joshi!"

Eris raises the Amplitude Title high, slowly turning to take in the
crowd before rolling under the bottom rope and striding up the ramp.


Next up we have the third and final match in the rivalry between Inza G and Lisa Robinson. Given the reason this feud even existed, this match should be especially heated. That is because Lisa wanted to rough up Inza just to get inside the head of Inza's mentor, Holly. Since Holly is now in a coma, it's very likely that Inza would come out with a lot of energy to seal this match in her honor.

What was particularly less likely was the excitement that accompanied Inza...of a feline variety. The crowd goes wild as international feline icon LOLCat comes out to the ring first and paves the way for his friend and milk bartender, Inza G! The fans give her a huge ovation as she appears to be wearing a green wristband on one of her wrists, presumably to show support for Holly. LOLCat has on one too but he probably isnt as clear on the reasons. Lisa comes out next and mocks the reception both LOLCat and Inza got. She finds some trash on the floor (an old straw wrapper) and puts it around her wrist to mock the wristband. This causes Inza to get angry and starts the match with a tope to the floor before the bell even rings! Inza then rolls her back in and we're ready for what will be a very physical match!

Inza basically steamrolled Lisa, finishing her off with a stiff kick to the face. Lisa's nose is bleeding and Inza has just shown us what happens when you truly piss her off. LOLCat is covering his mouth in surprise and concern and even Inza appears a bit remorseful about the damage to Lisa's face once her adrenaline wears off. Finally, LOLCat starts dancing for the crowd's amusement and Inza lets out a smile. LOLCat screams: "Dis is for tha Hollies" and he and Inza do a little dance in the ring.

Sandy Morton and Linda Parker come out and watch this with disgust. Inza appears confused why the two are not joining them for the Holly tribute, especially since Sandy appears to want to go down to the ring. But Linda walks Sandy backstage.

We are now ready for our main event! Heather Heaton and Firefly have had a rivalry since last summer. However, despite Firefly's menacing words to OG-Joshi, she has not appeared to bring that same sheer rebellious anger against Heather. But with the "No Escape" rules in play, Firefly may step the intensity of her offense up.

The reason for those rules in this match is due to the submissions both wrestlers use and have copied from each other in past matches. MJC wants to see if we can get a decisive pinfall between these two and that means submissions are legal but can not end the match. One of these two will have to either pin or knock the other one out. With Firefly's dangerous arsenal, that could happen but we can not discount the technical acumen of Heather Heaton in addition to her own high impact face plant moves.

Heather comes to the ring first to a large ovation: a high portion of those fans being male! We also see her Gen X teammates in attendance, partially to cheer her on and no doubt to back her up in case Firefly gets violent. Rachel is even out here wearing a towel on top of her head and neck, clearly just coming from the shower after her match tonight. Heather smiles extra hard at her.

Firefly is out next and gets practically STRUCK with boos from the crowd. The sound is almost uniform and blunt like a baseball bat and we see many wearing "I support Coach" shirts and holding signs of that nature. Firefly looks slightly annoyed at this but walks to the ring with total confidence. There's no escape from the crowd reaction but its up to Firefly how to respond to it. Let's get to the match!

The fans are furiously booing as Firefly used every dirty trick in the book to win this match! From busting Heather open early with what may have been a hidden illegal weapon to that poke in the eyes late that allowed Firefly to hit the Uranage! Heather was a victim throughout this match to moves of questionable legality! You have to give her credit for competing on the high level that she did and getting a few chances at victory but it was clear Firefly was going to do whatever she had to in order to get this victory and move up the ranks. Firefly ignores the booing but goes over to a fan holding a "We <3 MJC" sign. She rips up the sign and spits on it before throwing it to the ground and then going backstage.

Gen X members come to the ring to help up the bloodied Heather. She refuses a stretcher and walks backstage on her own power to the huge applause of the fans. Rachel looks concerned but Mark Spirals appears to be giving her confidence in Heather's condition. Heather then strokes Rachel's hair which appears to make Rachel smile AND blush, which causes Heather to smile, which causes Jayden Blayze to mutter "WTF" at the smiling and sexual confusion that went right over his head.

Heather Heaton (X) [Uranage- 16:07] (O) Firefly


The show looks as its about to end when suddenly the Ampli-Tron turns on and we see a very serious Coach Carter looking at us.

[MJC:] "I'll be reviewing the match we just saw and taking certain actions into account. There's no way you can wrestle like Firefly and expect to be treated as a true winner. But I'm not here for that right now. Rather, I'd like to announce an exciting opportunity for many wrestlers on Amplitude. Starting at the next show, we will be holding a #1 Contenders Tournament for the Amplitude Title."

*The fans erupt in applause and MJC smiles.*

[MJC:] "I will be announcing the participants and bracket soon. The first and second round of the tournament will occur on the next two Amplitudes with the finals to take place at the Spring OG-Joshi PPV. Since the winner will have had to beat so many wrestlers to win the contender position, they will be given a three match series with our Champion Eris Byrne. Eris is right that everyone backstage has to turn up the heat and show the world what Amplitude is all about. And this tournament will give them that chance. Congratulations to everyone who won with honor tonight. Voltage and Amplitude will return next month! Drive home safely everyone!"

*MJC nods at the fans and the Tron shuts off and lights power down to indicate the show is over. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here. Well, you probably can if you don't navigate to another page or ever turn your computer off..."
