February 2011 Voltage
*We start off with a stand-alone recap video of Ragnarok set to the old entrance music ("Fields of Fantasy") of General Celes. Footage from Naomi/Ayame, Gutter/Eris, Dods/Reeds, and Kat/Visper are shown with the match finishes being seen in slow motion. The video ends with the words: "Ragnarok? Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger." Then we fade into the Voltage auditorium in the Peter Venkman Memorial Arena where snow-like confetti falls from the ceiling as the Orochi-Tron shows four matches.*
1: Yoshi Hattori vs. Tigress Mask II
2: Natalia Nogaard vs. Narai Kaeo
3: Chanel Melendez/Lorelai vs. the Hellions (Sako Dasumi/Hae-Won)
4: OG-Joshi World Title: Kat Black vs. Visper Karr (c)
*Coach Carter comes through the curtains onto the ramp and has a microphone.*
[MJC:] "Greetings and welcome to 2011. not that you haven't already been living in it for a month!"
*Jean blushes but regains her composure*
[MJC:] "But this is a new year for OG-Joshi and I wanted to start it off the right way. You'll see that our main event and Championship referee, Mary, is already in the ring. And no, we're not starting with the World Title match which is the main event but with the energy of OG-Joshi youth. excitement, and promise for the future! This is a new year and young wrestlers like these are going to show the world what they can do. Miss Hattori and Miss uh... Mask II... bring us into 2011!"
*Yoshi and Tigress Mask II (t.w.f.k.a. Naomi) both come out and shake hands with Jean and skip down to the ring in a spirited manner. Once in the ring, they shake hands and bow to each other as the fans give them both huge rounds of applause. Miss Matsuki tries to get to ringside to be with her charge, Yoshi, but Coach Carter directs her backstage to her chagrin. Whether due to relief or confidence in her own abilities, Yoshi doesn't seem to mind her manager's absence that much.*

Coach Carter sure picked a 'doozy' (her words, not mine. I swear) of an encounter to start the year with! These two went at it with total respect, class, and speed. But also a whole lot of intensity and attempts to one-up the other. And while Tigress Mask II almost won her debut match with the mask on, Yoshi Hattori made a huge comeback to secure the victory. You can't discount TM II's desire and spirit but Yoshi just had a little more in the tank at the end. Perhaps Naomi was too quick to transform her move arsenal and was not yet comfortable with her new match finishers or Yoshi was extra 'motivated' by her manager to win...or else.
Yoshi Hattori (O) [Misteriorana - 18:28] (X) Tigress Mask II
*Speaking of her manager, Miss Asako Matsuki has come back out to ringside and is being accompanied by her other charge, Narai Kaeo. Tigress Mask II leaves the ring after shaking hands with Yoshi. Once TM II is gone, Miss Matsuki starts scolding Yoshi very harshly. Since she is doing it in Japanese, it is hard to know what she is saying but she is certainly not using a complimentary tone. Narai joins in on the scolding and also backs Yoshi up into the corner to make sure she has her full attention. Yoshi looks nervous and tired from the previous match and is just trying to end this confrontation but Matsuki isn't telling Narai to step away. Finally, someone does it for Matsuki, and against her wishes. Narai's opponent for the night, Natalia Nogaard had run down to ringside and just pushed Narai out of the way so that Yoshi could have some breathing room. Narai and Matsuki are enraged as Yoshi thanks Natalia and leaves ringside to the applause of the crowd. Miss. Matsuki stays for this match and Narai is ready, more then ready, to face Natalia*

Or maybe not so ready after all? The second straight loss for Narai Kaeo comes somewhat ironically as she has just been beaten by a kick! Narai, the muay thai master, just got knocked down from Natalia's "Switchblade" long enough for Natalia to grab the win! What a huge victory for Natalia who clearly had a wider arsenal then Narai but chose to put the exclamation point on this match in a way certain to anger Narai and Miss Matsuki.
Natalia Nogaard (O) ["Switchblade" - 14:53] (X) Narai Kaeo
*Miss Matsuki grabs Natalia as she is exiting the ring and screams for Narai to come over and finish the job but suddenly the Orochi-Tron turns on and we see "Coach" Carter looking sternly at Matsuki.*
[MJC:] "Either stop this instant or get yourself and Narai thrown off the roster.."
*Matsuki scowls and lets go of Natalia who stares into her eyes hard enough for Matsuki to back up on her own. Then Natalia walks back to the locker room.*
[MJC:] "Like I said in my last Corner, you've got some work to do with Narai, Miss Matsuki. I don't see how you can criticize Yoshi Hattori for winning the first match of the year when Narai just lost a match from a kick."
*The screen fades as an absolutely livid Matsuki leads Narai back by the arm. Narai doesn't fight it but looks somewhat ashamed. On their way back up the ramp, they pass the Hellions who swagger out to ringside and grab microphones.*
[Sako:] "Well ain't this just a bitch - we've got Xena duty again tonight."
[Hae-Won:] "Coach not convinced we earned a shot at the Reed's titles?"
[Sako:] "Coach don't seem convinced about a lot of things, if you ask me.."
[Hae-Won:] "I ain't askin you."
*Sako smiles and spits near Hae-Won who shoulder butts her and laughs.*
[Sako:] "Too bad that's the most exercise we gonna get tonight. Unless Xena wraps those legs around us like she does to Gabrielle-"
*At this point, Chanel and Lorelai come out looking rather angry and storm to the ring. The crowd only has a moments notice to remember how the Hellions defeated Chanel/Lorelai at an O's TV before Ragnarok. And even less time to remember the war of words exchanged since then. Let's get to the match!*

Yoshi and Tigress Mask started the year off great for singles matches but what a tag match we had here to begin 2011! The crowd is on their feet for both teams as they just witnessed a battle of true warrior (fighters) (That's worth it for the 2 people who get the reference!)!
Sako was a monster at the end of this match and it's incredible how Lorelai was able to kick out of her moves and then take the momentum for herself. These two teams may have nothing but contempt for each other but the fans seem to be respecting, and fearing both pairs of women. And even though Chanel and Lorelai won this encounter, the performance of Sako and Hae-Won underscored the huge transformation they have undergone since SHINO! Army.
Chanel/Lorelai (O) ["Hades Powerbomb" - 21:15] (X) Sako/Hae-Won
*Amazingly both teams stop fighting at the bell and go backstage to no further incident. Well, maybe that's not so amazing due to the Genji Security that came out at the end of the match to make sure there wouldn't be further incident. And some members of security stayed as its now time for the OG-Joshi World Championship match.
Kat Black comes out first to thunderous applause. She walks to the ring with just a brief wave and bow to the crowd. Clearly her mind is fully on the match and she's as focused as we've ever seen her. She needs to be just that to beat Visper after falling just short at Ragnarok. Visper Karr, the World Champion, comes to the ring next with a similar focus. She stops to soak in the fans' applause to fully energize herself. She has been World Champion since the summer of 2009 after beating Holly at OG-Joshi Renaissance. And even though she beat Kat at Ragnarok, she is not taking her lightly. The fans have actually started to chant: "Thank you Coach" in reference to Coach giving them this rematch so soon after many voted it as "Match of the Night" at Ragnarok and even match of the year for OG-Joshi in 2010. Kat and Visper are now both in the ring and ready to go. There's a brief handshake and the match begins.

The crowd is shocked into silence.
*And Coach Carter is trembling in the ring with the microphone in her hand.*
[MJC:] "You...you can't do this."
*A smiling Ruby Moreno has grabbed a microphone as well.*
[Ruby:] "What's that, dear? I can't hear you over the always energetic OG-Joshi crowd."
*A few chants of "F*ck you" are heard in response which MJC shakes her head in disappointment at before looking back at Ruby.*
[Ruby:] "Now just what is it that I can't do? Pin your long time World Champion? Beat the cornerstone of OG-Joshi? Do a convincing job of acting like Kat Black unlike the slipshod work Sandy Morton and Holly tried to pull off last year? I think you are mistaken, Miss Carter. See, I can do anything."
*Ruby smiles in an almost angelic manner and spreads her arms.*
[MJC:] "It wasn't Kat that beat Visper, the match isn't...isn't legitimate-"
[Ruby:] "Then your Champion and entire promotion wouldn't be legitimate either. Luckily, that's not the case...yet. Instead we have the stereotypical angry and biased coach yelling at the referees for making a call that is clearly fair and impartial. From the moment that bell rung, that match was legitimate. And in front of the entire world I cleanly and decisively pinned the OG-Joshi World Champion.
In doing so, now I am that Champion."
Ruby Moreno (O) ["Ruby Cutter" - 20:34] (X) Visper Karr
*Ruby gently caresses the Title belt around her waist but then frowns.*
[Ruby:] As for the 'real' Kat Black, she missed her opportunity. But that is the risk that masked wrestlers take in allowing anyone to co-opt their entire identity with merely a spare attire and mask. LAWL keeps such spares in the case of lost luggage and I 'borrowed' one of hers."
[MJC:] "That still doesn't make you Kat!"
[Ruby:] "Oh doesn't it? The fact is, 'Coach', Kat Black did win tonight...my version of Kat Black. Much as Tigress Mask II is Naomi's version of Tigress Mask: It's completely legal in OG-Joshi under the right circumstances, I had Destiny's lawyers look into it, of course. One failing of your former General was her lack of proper legal oversight. She had authority to stop Sandy's plot last year because she deliberately 'lost' as Kat Black. But Celes had nothing in the rulebook about what happens when someone assumes the identity of a masked wrestler and wins. And so my version of Kat Black is now the World Champion. Of course that means I am the World Champion, as i have little interest in continuing the Kat charade. As for the 'real' Kat Black, one of Celes' favorites, she now has to suffer for the General's omissions."
*Now we see some actual anger, a rare sight, in Jean's eyes.*
[MJC:] "Suffer? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO KAT!?"
[Ruby:] "Oh anger does not look good on you, Miss Carter. But you have no reason to be concerned about Miss Black's safety or health. She is completely unharmed and was never placed at risk by me. In fact, I had nothing to do with her lack of presence here at all. I just feel so bad that her flight from Japan to NY had to be rerouted while in the air and the phone service temporarily interrupted on a career-making night like this. However, she is safe and sound in what I believe to be New Jersey and probably trying frantically to contact you right about-"
*Coach reaches into her pocket and pulls out her cell phone which had just vibrated. She flips it open with tears in her eyes.*
[MJC:] "Kat? Kat is that you? Oh...you're...you're ok? Are you sure? I'm so sorry that- No i should have been more careful but...you sure you're ok? Ok. Do you know what happened? Oh...Kat, I'm so sorry but I'll stop this. We'll talk soo-"
*Ruby closes Jean's phone for her with a look of concern.*
[Ruby:] "Now now. With the Orochi-O's Owner 'incapacitated' and its stock plummeting, I wouldn't want you all going into debt with expensive cell phone charges. More importantly, you and I aren't finished talking yet. It would be rude and shortsighted for you to engage in such a pedestrian conversation with Kat on the historic first night of this new era."
[MJC:] "New...era?"
[Ruby:] "Naturally. OG-Joshi has finally taken its place under my guiding light. OG-Joshi has finally taken its first solid step towards its true destiny. And OG-Joshi's greatest prize has finally been taken away from Holly and Geese. Regretfully, neither of them are currently conscious to see this moment. But I do not believe their condition to be permanent. And yet when they awaken, this part of their world will be dependent on a decision that you shall make for everyone. Because the only question left for OG-Joshi, Miss Carter, is one of a Coach's ability to make tough roster decisions when the 'game is on the line.'"
[MJC:] "What...what do you mean?"
[Ruby:] "I thought putting it into sports parlance would please our 'Coach' but I guess I have to take the direct approach."
[MJC:] "You are enjoying drawing this out. You need the attention, don't you?"
*Ruby's face shows a rare trace of anger which she tries to cover up but instead lets fully extend into a scowl, and then twists that into a smile. She then speaks very deliberatively, pausing for a half second after every word.*
[Ruby:] "Fire Rose Moreno or you will never see this Championship in OG-Joshi again."
*Jean's eyes widen in fear as Ruby exits the ring. Before Genji Security can do anything, Gauntlet Security members come from the crowd and clear a path for Ruby who saunters out of the arena with the OG-Joshi World Championship belt raised high over her head. MJC turns pale and falls down to her knees in the middle of the ring as Luke Kisiera runs out from backstage to be with her. Meanwhile, Visper Karr, who had been recovering on the outside slides into the ring and looks to be apologizing to Jean. But Jean hugs Visper and then Luke and walks backstage with them past a silent and still shocked crowd. The show comes to a close.*
