We open in the Dragon Isle Dojo in Japan (that, or the friendly text that appeared on the screen lied to us all). Training seems to be over, though one or two stragglers can still be seen near the edge of the screen. Our focus, however, is directed to the two women talking to each other closer to the foreground. One of them is Kyoko Kuronaga, a senior Dojo trainer and Dragon Isle Joshi veteran. The other is a former DI-J Tag Team Champion and the current #1 contender to the OG-Joshi World Title, Kat Black.
Kat: Thanks again for coming out here tonight.
Kyoko: Don't mention it, I always have time for one of my old students. I hear you've been spending a lot of time here recently... it this usually how you spend the holidays?
Kat: I needed some distance after Ragnarok. Come back home, touch base... figure out what went wrong.
Kyoko: That's what's been eating you? Ragnarok?
Kat pauses for a moment.
Kat: Well... yeah. I got close, sure. Don't misunderstand... I know I can beat Visper Karr. But I blew it... for the second time in a row.
Kyoko: I saw those matches, Kat. Three-way matches are always unpredictable... you should be proud of your performance there, especially taking out Holly. As for the title match at Ragnarok... didn't you listen?
Kat: Listen to what, exactly?
Kyoko: Everything. The crowd's approval. The locker room talk. And of course what they said on the commentary. Everyone knows you pushed the champion to the limit. And clearly enough people agree that giving it another chance is what everyone wants to see.
Kat looks down.
Kat: Yeah, I guess you're right.
Kyoko: Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about what went wrong. I assume you've gone through the match since then on tape.
Kat nods.
Kyoko: If you ask me, you did nothing wrong... she just happened to come out on top. Visper Karr is an excellent champion and can't be underestimated if you want a chance to win, and she also seems to be an excellent student. She managed to keep away from the Blackout by any means necessary, and she did it well. And just a tiny slip like that can be enough after half an hour of battle.
Kat: I know. But listen, I'll still be here for a few days... I don't have to be back until Voltage. I've been working on some new moves since I got back, perhaps if you have some time...
Fade out...
