Prelude to a Promo

For those aware of the UBL "Wrestle Quest" RP's starring Luke Kisiera (with our very own Coach Jean Carter as the female lead main female NPC), the latest one has been posted. I'm linking to it here given some things that happen there as well as the fact its a prelude to a MJC/Gutter RP coming this week

*We open inside the hallway of an average looking hospital. But walking down that hallway is no average bear person. A mixed look of hope and fear cloud the eyes of OG-Joshi Coach Jean Carter as she does her best to walk quickly without causing a rude scene by running in a hospital. But the focused expression on her face shows that each step is an eternity for her until she finally comes to room 5G. Jean begins to knock but sees a small procedure going on inside the room. A doctor and nurse are administering some medication to a woman. After a few minutes pass of some tests being done, the doctor walks out and sees Jean.*

[Jean:] "Level with me, doc, how's she doing?"

[Doctor:] "She'll be just fine, Miss. The baby too."

*Jean's mouth opens agape and she almost falls over.*

[Doctor:] "Are you sure you have the right room? This is Mrs. Gudderson's room."

[Jean:] "Uh..."

[Doctor:] "Close your mouth, dear, you'll catch something. I suggest you go back to the front desk and clarify who you're here to see."

*Jean blushes and speed walks back to the front desk where this time she properly finds out where to go. Room 5H...right next to Mrs. Gudderson's....whom Jean was nice enough to give one of the flowers she had for Gutter to Mrs. Gudderson's husband. What a gal.

The nurse inside of Gutter's room comes out and sees Jean.

[Nurse:] "Miss Carter?"

[Jean:] "Yea...yeah. That's me. Is..is Gutter ok?"

[Nurse:] "Gutter suffered a fairly major concussion. I'll have her doctor come in to meet with you as soon as he can."

[Jean:] "Can...I go in and talk to her?"

[Nurse:] "Yes but only for 15 minutes. We just woke her up from sedation and she's still woozy and needs all the rest she can get. Try not to say anything that would upset her."

(Apparently the nurse has no idea who she's talking to)

*Jean nods and very softly opens the door. Gutter reacts as usual, putting her guard up, but slowly. Then when she sees Jean, she calms down. Jean starts to rush over but remembers what the nurse says and tipsy-toes to the side of Gutter's bed. She puts the flowers aside and tries to hold Gutter's hand but there is an IV that she doesn't want to mess with. For about a minute, no one says anything. Then Gutter starts to open her mouth.*

[Gutter:] "Wat-"

[Jean:] "What took me so long?! I'm sorry, Gutter!"

*The emotional dam breaks for Jean for the second time today and she begins crying. Gutter sighs and then reaches for the water near her bed and takes a sip.*

[Jean:] "Oh...oh sorry. I'm so sorry, about everything! I can't believe-"

*Gutter puts her hand on Jean's arm and shakes her head*

[Gutter:] "Holly is gonna get it."

[Jean:] "Wait what?! Gutter, you've just been-"

[Gutter:] "I've been jumped before, don't worry about me... but that shit Holly said about you, I ain't gonna let her get away it."

[Jean:] "Gutter, you have a concussion now. You need to rest. I don't even know if you'll be medically cleared-"

*Just then the door opens and a doctor comes in. You've seen doctors, you know what they look like. Shiny stethoscope, sterile lab coat, and a clown nose..

[Doctor:] "Miss..."

[Jean:] "Carter, my name is Jean Carter. Hi!"

[Doctor:] "Miss Carter, I am not entirely sure what happened to Gutter but I would not be so quick to put her back in the place where it did. I take it that she's a pro wrestler. We see a lot of them here. I also am aware that your promotion is going to have a big show soon."

[Jean:] "Ragnarok in mid December."

[Doctor:] "And you want Gutter to compete in that event?"

[Jean:] "If she's up to it, she has an OG-Joshi Amplitude Title shot! She definitely earned it!"

[Doctor:] "Would that shot be against the individual who put her in the hospital?"

[Jean:] "No, Eris doesn't do that kind of thing. She's dangerous in the ring and is actually undefeated. But the person who did this to Gutter is a former convict. She's not part of OG-Joshi, we have nothing to do with her. Nor do we want to."

[Gutter:] "Wait... what?"

[Doctor:] "As we get closer to December, I will examine her ability to get back into the ring. I make no promises, Miss Carter. But I'll see what we can do. If there's anything else I can help you with, you can call me."

*The Doctor hands Jean his business card and walks out. Long pause.*

[Gutter:] "..J-Judy? She's the one that did this?"

[Jean:] "You... don't remember?"

*Gutter shakes her head, then Jean bites her bottom lip and nods.*

[Jean:] "Yeah.... and... I kinda told a teeny white lie to the doctor there. It's true that I really don't want OG-Joshi to have anything to do with Judy. One good thing Celes taught me is that if you have someone causing trouble in OG-Joshi who isn't officially a part of it, you make them part of it. And then you can get a little better control of the situation. It worked with Crimson Mask and with Nicole Dramesi so I think it can work with Judy. But I need to know you're ok-"

[Gutter:] "Yeah, do it."

[Jean:] "You're sure you're comfortable with-"

[Gutter:] "No, I'm not. She..." *deep breath* "She scares me. You know why I carry a switchblade with me? Because of her. She tried to... well, I don't want to talk about that... but I trust you, and if you think this will work, I'm all for it."

*After a pause*

[Gutter:] "So... what exactly happened?"

[Jean:] "The details aren't important. She jumped you. Luke Kisiera saved you from being kidnapped."

[Gutter:] "Hold on... Luke fought off Judy and saved me? You sure I'm the one with the concussion?"

*Jean smiles and nods*

[Jean:] "Yeah, he did. He's kind of a hero, you know."

*Jean smiles and stares into space for a second before the door opens again and the nurse comes in.*

[Nurse:] "Visiting time is over, Miss. Please let Gutter get some rest."

[Gutter:] "I was out for a damn week! I'm doing just fine!"

[Nurse:] "Hospital policy."

[Gutter:] "Gutter's policy-"

[Jean:] "No, it's ok. I'll be back to see you tomorrow and every day til you're out. Just get better and don't worry too much about Judy. You've got a big Title shot and I know you'll do great! I'm so happy that you're feeling better!"

*Jean starts to cry a bit, partially hugs Gutter, and then leaves the room. Gutter sighs as the nurse does nursely things and Jean goes out into the hallway. Meanwhile Mr. Gudderson is out in the hallway on the phone with someone.*

[Mr. Gudderson:] "We're still trying to figure out names, mom. So many good names for a boy and it's hard to-"

[Jean:] "Luke. Call him Luke."

*Jean smiles and walks off as Mr. Gudderson ponders the advice.*
