Re: Voltage, Ragnarok, success in other promotions, Tag Titles.
This is a happy Corner, overall. But there's a little bitter with this sweet and I want to get to it first so I can go back to celebrating after a Voltage I'm mostly proud of. A Voltage that continues to take us forward despite a few wrestlers intent on dragging their muddy feet to slow our progress.
Gabriella Breeze and the Deities: While you didn't do anything illegal during a match, your post-match attack on Tigerfly and H will not be tolerated. I haven't come up with a consistent punishment for post and pre match attacks like I have for attacks during matches but for now, I will suspend Gabriella and Valencia for one show. That punishment would be for longer but no injuries were sustained. Don't make me get any more strict then I want to be. As for Avalon, her punishment will be delivered by the hands, and most likely feet, of Tigerfly Sword. They were already scheduled to face off at the next Voltage and I will not take that match off the card considering their rivalry and the recent attack.
Dods: If Jane hadn't earned her team the right to challenge J*NiGHT for a shot at the Tag Titles, the Dods would be suspended too. However, I have something lined up for them that I know they will not like. I'll get to that in a bit.
Holly: You're the most twisted person I've ever had the displeasure of knowing. And its disgusting that someone with your immoral character has the strength and resiliency you do. It's like a cruel joke the universe plays on us. Like how cupcakes get stale within 2 days but Spam can last for years. You're the spam of OG-Joshi, Holly. No matter how you spice it up, no matter what you serve it with or who serves you, it's still just spam. Fatty, tasteless spam. Now, women like Visper and Kat, women like Molly, they're filet mignon. But since I've just angered feminists by comparing women to meat, I won't say another word on the subject. Luckily, Holly just has two words left.
So another match has been made for Ragnarok. And I'm not just talking about Naomi vs. Ayame Yamato which i'm soo happy about! No, you see, Alicia Gordon came to me to challenge Haley Cannon to a match. She wouldn't answer me why and it's beyond my understanding seeing as how Haley has done nothing to provoke her and so much to help her. But Haley agreed to the match and I see no reason not to grant them it for this show.
Now, I AM happy that Ayame and Naomi will be wrestling as it will be one of the bright spots on a very bleak show. I have a feeling that there may be more at stake then just victory here but I will let Ayame handle that situation any way she wants. My best to both women who I know will entertain the fans.
Ok, now that I'm getting my glad groove back, let's get down to fun!
Congratulations are in order to MANY members of the roster!
First, Yoshi Hattori is now a proud member of the recently formed Estrella promotion. And in short order, she captured one half of the Estrella Tag Team Championships with her partner, Winning Yamazaki! Yoshi was a champion before pro wrestling and it's good to see her retain her winning form within the four turnbuckles. My hope is that one day she may hold OG-Joshi gold as well. I think we're all waiting for Miss Matsuki to comment on Yoshi's great success the way she has for Narai in the past.
Secondly, Molly Cule has had an incredible month. From winning the Estrella Championship to defeating disease and finding love in Super NOVA to having a head-turning debut on Voltage this week. I am sure this is not the first time she will face one of our champions and it won't surprise me to see her victorious next time. She's someone to watch out for, folks.
Thirdly, Kaori NiGHT had an awesome performance in the Voltage battle royale. She showed the tenacity that made her one half of the former Tag Champions. And she and Jenny will face the Dods for the right to challenge the Tag Team Champions at Ragnarok.
But wait. (Dramatic pause) Why am I being so vague there? Why not just say...the Reed Sisters. Because the Reed Sisters have just become the first Champion team in OG-Joshi history to proactively put their titles on the line in a match BEFORE they are scheduled to do so! For that, and their helpful solution to a problem, I give the Reed Sisters more gratitude then I can express. You two are true Champions in and out of the ring, ladies. It is my pleasure to know you.
You see, after the hubbub that followed the Battle Royale, the Reed Sisters came to me with a solution to the problem forming. Chanel and Lorelai felt rightfully upset that the team they defeated won a chance to compete for the Tag Titles, even if that team were former champions. And Team Chuu Chuu managed to take second place in each Battle Royale! So we have a bit of a tag title controversy which is kinda well, what I was hoping to avoid. But the Reeds stepped up and told me.
Miss Carter, they said, Coach, I answered... (true story), we'd like to give one of these teams a shot at our titles before we defend them against one of the other two teams at Ragnarok. But since we only have two shows left before then, and we need to figure out WHICH team gets the shot, here's the plan that the Reeds and I came up with..
At the next Amplitude, scheduled for later this month. Chanel and Lorelai will face Team Chuu Chuu. And the winners will challenge the Reed Sisters FOR the Tag Team Championships (!) at the November Voltage. Whoever emerges Champion will face the winners of the match between the Dods and J*NiGHT at Ragnarok!! This way, all the top teams in OG-Joshi have a chance to fight for that Championship.
Now I mentioned earlier that there is something that the Dods would not like. And here it is. If by some chance the Dods beat J*NiGHT and also beat the Champions at Ragnarok, they will be required to defend their titles at the VERY next OG-Joshi show. No matter when that is. Because the loser of the match between Chanel/Lorelai and Chuu Chuu will get a shot at the Dods right away. That team will get a shot no matter who leaves Ragnarok as Champions, but it will not be immediate against another a team other then the Dods. I know how much the Dods have wanted to capture these Tag Titles but I would imagine winning and losing them within the space of a week, or who knows, maybe a day, would be pretty hard for them to stomach. Much like attacks with chairs are hard for me to stomach.
You play by the rules here, you wrestle for the right reasons, and you'll get chances to advance your career. But if you push me, I'm gonna push back. Whatever you think of me, realize right now, I'm not going to make violence an incentive. You will be punished if you go down that path. Or you will be rewarded if you are a legitimate competitor: even if you don't have the heart of one. Act like it and I will do everything I can to reward those who make OG-Joshi an honorable place to wrestle.
What Lorelai did at the end of Voltage is understandable. She was angry and had some words with those she was angry with even if it was me she really should have been mad at for setting up the Tag scene leading to Ragnarok. Don't blame Kaori, or even Jane, for winning a Battle Royale that I had set up as the gateway to gold. But the point is, I'm not mad at Lorelai because she only used words. That is fine. I'd rather her get her thoughts off her chest then let them fester and lead to violence. But the Dods and their chairs, the Deities and their attacks, not in OG-Joshi. No more. If Crimson Mask could wrestle earnestly for the title at the Battle Royale last year with the proper incentives, so can they. So can everybody.
But it's not just the wrestlers I'm trying to re-educate. I intend for all of us to re-educate the fans and owners what pro wrestling is about. Ragnarok is just around the corner and is the perfect time to do so. Meanwhile, good luck to all the wrestlers competing on Amplitude and Voltage.
Also, have a happy and safe Halloween!
