October 2010 Voltage
*The October Voltage begins as assorted color pyro shoots off in the arena and the Orochi-Tron turns on to show four matches.*
1 - Naomi vs. Kim Cross
2 - Tigerfly Sword/H vs. Valencia/Avalon
3 - Molly Cule vs. Visper Karr
4 - OG-Joshi Tag Championship #1 Contender Battle Royale 2
We begin tonight with the return of Kim Cross to action. While no one had said it publicly, many were wondering if Mr. Figaro’s recent actions caused Kim to be upset and disappear. Or be purposefully left off the card by Orochi Geese. But it appears Kim is doing just fine here and is in very good spirits as she observes the great reaction from the fans. Next, Naomi comes down to the ring looking a bit intimidated. However, her confidence rises when she sees Ayame Yamato in the crowd cheering for her. She goes over and hugs her. Many wondered what Coach Carter was doing splitting these two up but Coach has wanted Naomi to finally stand on her own two feet as she sees a lot of potential in her. Let’s see if she’s ready to face the most accomplished wrestler she's gone up against since her independence streak started to show.
Match #1: Naomi vs. Kim Cross
Naomi and Kim shake hands in the middle of the ring. Kim looks Naomi over and smiles, Naomi looks worried here and Kim senses it as well. She immediately takes Naomi down and begins stretching her. (The absense here of perverted commentary to longtime fans is almost louder then the previous existence of it.). Naomi surprises Kim by reversing many of the stretch based holds into joint twisting ones. It’s clear Kim has underestimated Naomi perhaps as much as Naomi has! Kim starts going to her striking which is quite refined and effective. Naomi tries to use her speed to dodge Kim but her deft strikes land right on target. Having softened Naomi up, Kim goes into her array of suplexes but once again, Naomi manages to reverse many of them into rather dangerous looking holds. Kim pushes Naomi away and shakes her own arm and neck out while Naomi rubs her wounds where Kim struck.
Naomi still looks rather uncertain of how to continue so Kim again takes the initiative, this time using a double leg takedown, perhaps wanting to see what Naomi can REALLY do on the ground. She is able to use her superior strength to keep Naomi down and starts punching her but Naomi catches a punch and immediately transitions into a triangle choke! Kim is in trouble but is able to get to the ropes to break it up. Finally, Naomi has gained enough confidence and for the first time in the match, goes on the offensive herself with a variety of kicks we haven’t seen from her before. Solebutts and spinning kicks knock Kim off balance until she grabs one and turns it into a capture suplex! And now Kim has done enough damage to really start to lay in. She puts on an STF and wrenches back, making it impossible for Naomi to grab a limb, but Naomi is patient and waits for Kim’s notoriously short attention span to kick in.
Kim gets up, fluffs her hair, and waits for Naomi to get up...Kimpaler DDT!! But wait, Naomi grabbed the ropes! Kim falls down face first onto that highly protected nose of hers, one that was once broken before by Lana. As Kim pulls herself up, Naomi runs the ropes and hits a rebound dropkick!! Goes for the cover...just a 2. But now Naomi looks ready to 'kick' this match into high gear! She gets a front face lock on Kim who has just begun to get up up, and Naomi looks to be trying to turn it into a guillotine choke (Front neck lock)! She can’t quite get her hands to settle though as Kim is fighting it, and then Kim turns it into a Northern Lights suplex!! 1..2...no! Naomi got to the ropes with her feet!! Kim drags Naomi to the center of the ring, picks her back up, and then sticks her head under Naomi's arm again for another Northern Lights, but this time Naomi very firmly grabs her neck and falls backwards! Did she just DDT her? No, she fell into a bodyscissors neck lock! And thanks to Kim’s own actions, she has nowhere to go! Shockingly, Kim just tapped out to Naomi!! That has got to be the win of Naomi’s career!
Naomi (O) [Bodyscissors Neck Lock - 15:18] (X) Kim Cross
*Coach Carter comes down to ringside and congratulates Naomi, who is absolutely star struck by what just happened. Coach also goes over to help Ayame Yamato make her way over the barrier and into the ring. Ayame stands by one turnbuckle with her arms crossed, looking at Naomi. Jean gets a microphone.*
[MJC:] “In honor of the strides you have made since you left Shi..uh, Ken...uh, that ‘Army’, Ayame and I both have offers for you. She would like to face you in a 'Teacher vs. Student' match and experience how far you’ve truly advanced over the last year.”
*The fans applaud and Naomi bows multiple times to Ayame and says “IT IS HONOR TO FACE YOU KIND TEACHER!”*
[MJC:] “And my offer to both of you is that your match will be held at OG-FPD Ragnarok!”
*Naomi just about faints but Coach has already grabbed her arms before she had a chance to fall.*
[MJC:] “Yeah I uh...have some experience with fainters. Can see it a mile away.”
*MJC smiles and giggles to herself*
Score: 10 out of smelling salts
[MJC:] “Ayame has been a big part of OG-Joshi and, Naomi, your future is looking more and more bright by the day. I know you two won’t let me down and will put on a match that will show the fans what pro wrestling is truly about. And I think the audience will need all the reminding it can get considering two other ‘encounters’ already planned for that show.”
*MJC shakes hands with both and walks with them up the ramp backstage.*
Next we have Tigerfly Sword and H. heading to the ring. Tigerfly is on a great run of momentum after beating Gabriella Breeze at Illumination and then making her successful Voltage debut defeating Gabi’s teammate Valencia in September. H makes her Voltage debut here tonight despite formally being on the Amplitude brand. But since this is a tag team match and Tigerfly requested her, Jean allowed her to compete. Their opponents coming to the ring now are the Royal Deities led by Avalon Porter, also making her Voltage debut. Valencia is still angry at Tigerfly Sword for their match and Avalon is none too happy that her girls are having trouble with her rival, Sword. They have wrestled excellent matches in other promotions including GLITTER and tonight the Tigerfly/Avalon rivalry officially enters its next stage in OG-Joshi as they step into the same ring, looking to do battle. This is a prelude to next month’s Voltage as they plan to face each other in a singles match but by the look in both their eyes, nothing counts other then this match right now. Let’s get to it.

The fans are still abuzz at the double team chemistry of Sword and H, especially earlier in the match. And H. got a huge victory here, representing the Amplitude roster. But this isn't over. Gabriella Breeze has stormed out and has joined her fellow Deities in a beatdown on Tigerfly and H. Avalon punctuates this with a pedigree to Tigerfly as Valencia hits a DDT on H. The two are rolled next to each other as Gabi runs the ropes and splashes them both at the same time! Then Valencia puts on the "Royale Twist" on an unconscious Tigerfly Sword until security comes to break this up. It looks like Avalon is done playing nice.
Tigerfly Sword/H (O) [Bamiyan Stamp - 14:01] (X) Valencia/Avalon
*We go to a brief commercial break to give Tigerfly and H a chance to get backstage. They refuse stretchers, despite the damage done to Tigerfly's leg from the Royale Twist and walk by themselves backstage to cheers.*
"Kick 'em when he's down" plays and a wrestling attire-clad Holly Walker appears on the stage, flanked by a suited, and bruised, Orochi Geese and a metric ton of Genji Security guards. A few walk ahead and surround the outside of the ring while Geese and Holly walk down the aisle and through the ropes. One of the security guards hands Geese a microphone and a chair. Geese sets up the chair in the middle of the ring and dusts it off before Holly turns it around and sits on it backwards. She takes the microphone as he kisses her on the forehead. Then he walks off to the side and leans up against one of the turnbuckles while turning his head around to scan the crowd.*
[Holly:] "This is all me tonight. Geese has nothing left but violence for Ragnarok. Me though...you could say I'm more the loquacious type."
*The crowd is silent.*
[Holly:] "It means I like to talk a lot... morons."
*Boos result as she smiles.*
[Holly:] "So, I know what you are all thinking. And it’s gross - I wouldn’t touch you people out there if I was wearing a HAZMAT suit. But the other thing you’re thinking is just as unlikely. That this may be the last time you ever see me on Voltage. At OG-FPD Ragnarok, if I lose to Celes, then Nicole Dramesi will eat me or something. I know, I know, save your tears and all other bodily fluids. Cause it's not gonna happen."
*The fans continue to boo as Holly smirks.*
[Holly:] "Celes made a critical mistake this time. Not like her usual fashion faux pas or failing to properly act like a human rather then the animated piece of wood that she is. But the kind of mistake that shows an utter disregard, almost a contempt for reality. To Geese, that’s cardinal sin #1. You can’t operate in this world if you don’t understand it. And maybe I’m a little guilty of that sin right now too because I’m confused by Celes’ mistake. For as much as I hate her, I've never really taken her for the imbecile type. Nor did I think she was completely oblivious to everything that went on around here. I’ve never before considered her an “Azumi Oonishi”. She’s not a starry-eyed drooler or a pants-wetting pissant. Up until the the previous Voltage, I had always thought she was somewhat of a careful observer. But now I'm just wondering if she got a hot deal for a Labor Day lobotomy: 2 for the price of duhhhhh."
*Holly shrugs her shoulders and smirks*
[Holly:] “The fact is, if anyone should ‘get’ what I am capable of in this ring, Celes should. Even more then Jo Ryder, Dizzy, Haley Cannon, or Visper Karr. More then anyone I've ever stepped IN the ring with. Celes has had the view from the outside and ‘from above’ as an observer rather then a direct participant. Just like Geese right now is surveying the audience from a slightly elevated vantage point then security, Celes had the same perspective on me, probably looking down my shirt. And anyone with a brain in that position should have learned by now the one thing you can guarantee about me: The one thing I stake my name on. My entire credibility as Holly...ever since I chose that name when leaving my family to start fresh and make something of myself...rests on one immutable truth."
*Holly pauses and then looks stone faced at the camera which changes its perspective to look head-on at her.*
[Holly:] "I don't fucking quit."
*Geese nods with conviction in his eyes which Holly sees and nods back*
[Holly:] "Pick a match. Any match. I have never in my entire career submitted or said the words "I quit" in a competitive situation. The only ‘submission’ victories that opponents have gotten over me, few and far between, have been when I passed out in a hold. I’ve never given up, not by tapping the mat or asking the referee to end the match. I simply don’t know how. When you’ve had the life I’ve had but still managed to get this far, you know quitting is never an option. I’ve already proven the argument against it: I’m the living evidence. Whatever strike you may bruise my head with, whatever hold you may squeeze my body with, I’ve proven again and again, that you can NOT break my spirit. My body may have limits, but just like Geese, my spirit knows no bounds. And it is my spirit being tested at Ragnarok."
*Holly gets up from the chair and kicks it away.*
[Holly:] "So why, Celes? Why make the mistake of asking for this match? Why did you fail “Holly 101?” Is it because I wouldn’t let you sleep with the teacher? Or is it that your elevated vantage point isn't so objective, after all? Is your hate for me so blinding that you can't even think straight? If Jo, Haley, Jenny, Alicia, and Visper couldn't make me give up in this ring, couldn't make me scream in anguish for the referee to end the pain, what in hell makes you think you can? What manuever do you have cooked up that is so different? Just what is it about you that makes you think you can create an exception to this rule? Why are you relevant to my career: What do you add to the in ring equation with me that hasn't been present before?"
*Holly holds her arms up and palms up as if she's completely confused by what she just said. But it's not sarcastic, she legitamately seems to be.*
[Holly:]: "Let's reminisce a bit to try to figure out your perspective on my career, I remember back at the Int.Des.R show in 2006 when Jo Ryder made her return into a triple surprise. First, her stepping back in the ring, second her actually wearing panties, and third, debuting her Eclipse Festival hold. And I’m not ashamed to admit it but I've never been in more physical pain in a wrestling ring then I have been while in that hold. Even when Haley Cannon broke my leg, it was a quick snap of my leg and that was it. Even when Visper broke my shoulder, she had just smashed my face into the ring so I was a few seconds away from unconsciousness. But the Festival was excruciating for my entire upper body and she wouldn't let go. But neither did I. Even though she eventually made me pass out from the Queen's Clutch, another ‘fun’ manuever of hers, she learned something that match. My spirit is stronger then any hold you can concoct. Ask Visper Karr and Jenny McLanahan. They each had to injure my shoulder to make me pass out two shows in a row. Jenny couldn’t make me give up after 20 minutes with her shoulder onslaught despite it just being broken by Visper. Her safest bet was making me pass out. Think about the insanity of that plan. Then realize...it won’t even work for you, Celes."
*Holly holds up her finger and wags it back and forth.*
[Holly:] "You can't make my body pass out to win the type of match you begged me for. You have to target my spirit. And as much as you try to brutalize me, no matter how many times I may lose consciousness, it simply won’t matter. Because you will never hear the two words you want to hear. Of all people, you should know that. So help me understand this, won’t ya? Why did you construct this flawed plan? Why is this your final stand against me? Did I legitimately drive you insane from rage? What do you expect to happen if you manage to break my body in the ring but you still aren't victorious? Will Nicole get us both? Neither?”
*Geese walks over and whispers to her causing her to smile.*
[Holly:] "But that's not the only mystery. See, what Geese and I want to know is why you assume you'll even get me to that point? You've never been in a wrestling match, hun. Sure, you've gotten a few lucky shots in at some wrestlers, even Geese and I. But reversing a hold or blocking a punch in an office has nothing to do with what goes on between these four turnbuckles. All your bragging about war and being a General is meaningless when you actually are put on the same level as me. No more power or authority advantage, no more referee manipulation. Just you and me beating the shit out of each other on an even landscape. With the same rules. Do you now understand the situation you got yourself into?"
*Holly puts her fist under her chin and looks pensive.*
[Holly:] "Because as much as everyone has refused to admit this throughout my career, I’m damn good in this ring. Even though I don't know as many holds as Visper, even if I'm not as skilled on my back as Jo Ryder, *Holly winks*, I'm still the most dangerous wrestler in OG-Joshi. I'm always one second away from knocking my opponent out with the Loser's Lunch. Ask Jo Ryder about that. I did it in the first ever OG-Joshi match. I set the pace for this entire promotion by knocking out someone everyone thought I couldn't beat. For all the questions about my ability, my credibility, my spirit alone couldn't have won me all those matches. Look at Sandy Morton - the girl actually has more spirit then many of you wll admit to but she can barely run without tripping over her own feet. Spirit isn't enough to be a Champion in this promotion. It wasn't enough to bring me to these heights. The fact is I can straight out go in this ring. But I've seen nothing from you that tells me you even belong in here with me. And even less that says you can walk out on your own power."
*Holly looks out at the crowd and then around the ring. She aims her stare at the mat itself and smiles.*
[Holly:] "The last 6 years of my life have revolved around what I did and did not do on this mat. I won, I beat my arch enemies, I ended careers, I became Champion for years, and I never gave up. And no matter who you are, even if you are the bastard daughter of Chuck Norris and Royce Gracie, you can not make me say the two ‘magic words’ that will summon the Dramesi monster after me. But since I feel sorry for your monumental loss of sanity, I’ll throw in a little treat for you. Just so you know my voicebox is even capable of saying the magic words you long to hear, let me tell you whether I plan to continue this speech I’ve been giving: I quit.”
*Holly laughs and walks out with Geese putting her arm around her. They walk back up the ramp and backstage with security covering them.*
*We go to another break as the fans in the audience are being entertained by Team Chuu Chuu doing their Para Para dance routine. Yuri probably wants to get some exercise in to warm up for her part in the main event tonight. But regardless of the reason, the fans are all over this with applause! It’s certainly a great breath of fresh air after what they just had to listen to!
And speaking of another breath of fresh air, we are joined by Molly Cule. Tonight is her debut match on the Voltage brand and no one can accuse OG-Joshi of going easy on her, as she is about to face the World Champion, Visper Karr, in a non-title match. Coach Carter evidently thinks very highly of Molly Cule and also wants to reward her for having to go through what she did with Sandy. Considering Sandy and Holly got Molly fired from her Professor position in Harvard, perhaps this is Jean compensating Molly on behalf of OG-Joshi. But she wouldn’t be putting her up against the Champ unless she thought she was ready. Let’s see what Molly can do as well as watch Visper in her first post-Holly match as World Champion.
Molly comes to the ring looking confident and not intimidated despite the tall order. In fact, she has even brought a big piece of oak tag with the equation: "(voltag)E=MC^2" which seems to check out. I can only assume the (voltag) notation represents dark matter when applied to a vacuum. But we're checking that out in the labs as I type this.
Anyway, Molly hands she sign to a young fan as well as a little graduation style cap that says MCU on it. I'm about 99% sure that kid now has the credentials to get into any graduate school of their choice (except maybe Harvard given recent events). However it is Molly who is about to get an education if the expression on Visper Karr's face is any indication. Visper makes her way down to the ring with a look of purpose and an accessory that shows she means it: The OG-Joshi World Championship belt. The best belt for holding up your pants and place in the world. The two get into the ring, have a handshake, and go to their corners. Time for class!

Molly Cule just showed everyone exactly why Coach Carter placed her on Voltage and gave her this match. Regardless of any compensation motives, Molly showed she belongs here. After some initial jitters, expected in an opportunity like this, she got her balance back and really pushed Visper. Amazingly, in her very first match on Voltage, Molly came close to defeating the World Champion on a few occasions! Visper regrouped like the Champion she is and put the match away. But right now there’s not a fan in OG-Joshi not wondering what cosmic heights Molly is going to soar to on this roster. And Visper Karr appears equally impressed, shaking her hand and then raising it in the air after the match. For all the talking the former world champion just did, the current one just showed her refusal to quit as well. In a far more classy way.
Molly Cule (X) [”Karr Driver” - 16:24] (O) Visper Karr
And now we come to the main event of tonight. This is the second Tag Team Contender Battle Royale, following the one at Amplitude, in the process to decide the team that will challenge the Reed Sisters for their Tag Team Championship at OG-FPD Ragnarok. Jane Dod won the Amplitude Battle Royale. So if Polly Dod wins here tonight, the Dods become the automatic #1 contenders. However, if someone else wins, then their team faces the Dods at the next Voltage to determine who the #1 Contenders are. A lot of pressure and attention will certainly be on Polly Dod here. And with some of the recent tag team results across the promotion, a lot of new rivalries are forming. From the second Kaori and Lorelai got into the ring, they were staring at each other. Same with Xiang and Yoyo. And everyone can’t help look at the massive Gabriella Breeze though few are brave enough to do it when she looks back. Let’s see who can outlast the other seven rivals!
Match #4: Tag Team Contender Battle Royale #2

Three women really made their points in this match. Lorelai struck first by taking out one of the favorites, Polly Dod. It seemed everyone was gunning for Polly early on because her winning this would have been a guaranteed Dod Title shot. Everyone got their shots in hoping her elimination would give their own teams an equal chance and Lorelai was the one strong enough to keep her down. Another big moment was Yuri managing to be the last one eliminated much like her partner Yaoi was in the Amplitude Battle Royale! After the beatdown they received from Sako and Hae-Won last month, Team Chuu Chuu really showed their spirit in these matches and had to have turned a lot of heads. But it was Kaori NiGHT, after J*NiGHT recently lost to Lorelai and Chanel, who took this match by storm. She defeated the final three to give J*NiGHT the right to face the Dods to decide who will challenge the Reed Sisters for the Championship. Kaori wants those OG-Joshi Tag Championships back around her and Jenny's waists.
Order of Elimination:
Lorelai (O) [Doctor Bomb - 12:53] (X) Polly Dod
Yuri (O) [Backdrop - 17:43] (X) Xiang Li
Lorelai (O) [Elevated Boston Crab - 19:40] (X) Yoyo Banzai
Yuri (O) [Lightning Pin - 24:29] (X) Xouxou Chen
Kaori NiGHT (O) [”Pop Star Flash”- 26:23] (X) Lorelai
Kaori NiGHT (O) [IR - 29:34] (X) Gabriella Breeze
Kaori NiGHT (O) [”NiGHTSault”- 31:34] (X) Yuri
Winner: Kaori NiGHT of J*NiGHT
But it appears all is not settled as Lorelai is still at ringside and not happy at all what is going on here. She’s shouting “We beat you!" to Kaori and Chanel has had to come from backstage to calm her down. Jenny has come out too to back up Kaori. And Jane and Polly are watching all this from the entrance ramp. They look at each other, shrug and then run down to the ring and start to attack both teams with chairs but amazingly, are stopped by Team Chuu Chuu!! It looks like Jean’s attempt at clearing up the Tag Division may have had the opposite effect!!!! All four teams look at each other as now the Reed Sisters, the OG-Joshi Tag Champions, are surveying the scene and talking calmly to themselves. The Dods leave through the crowd and Chuu Chuu place themselves between J*NiGHT and Chanel and Lorelai. Meanwhile, Coach Carter has come out to talk to the Reed Sisters and walks with them backstage, nodding at what they have to say to her. The show ends with J*NiGHT staring at Chanel and Lorelai and Chuu Chuu trying to break up the tension.
We’ll see you in November for the final Voltage before OG-FPD Ragnarok!
