OG-Joshi Amplitude: August 2010 - "Beat the Heat!"
Location: Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.
*The show has just barely started and Amplitude Champion Eris Byrne walks down to the ring, title belt draped over her shoulder and a satisfied smirk on her face. Pausing on the apron, she leans back against the ropes and looks out over the crowd, arms casually draped along the top rope. Drawing this out for a few moments, she finally seems satisfied with the noise from the crowd, jumps over the top rope and picks up a microphone as she saunters into the center of the ring.*
[Eris:] "That’s right… I. Rock. This. Place!"
*She pauses, arms raised high and a wide grin on her face.*
[Eris:] "Bow down before your master, your goddess, and your new Amplitude Champion!"
*She waits for the noise to wind down a little, seemingly not caring that she’s getting more boos than cheers.*
[Eris:] "Now… I’m sure you all wonder the same thing. 'What’s next? Surely there’s no one on Amplitude good enough to take on the Goddess of Chaos?' Really, I’ve been wondering that too."
[Eris:] "Still, looks like mic girl isn’t too sure what to do. She’s given me a light warmup next show against the last priestess of KENTA. We’ve seen it before, and we know what’ll happen..."
*She pauses for a few moments, looking out over the entrance ramp before speaking once more.*
[Eris:] "Speaking about what we’ve seen before… looks like my only challengers coming up are from the tournament I just won. And mic girl lets her favouritism show through again, giving Jenna and Gutter another shot while the more worthy challenger gets stuck playing welcome wagon to the rookies. You thought her fans gave her no respect..."
*Eris smirks, looking out over the loud-as-always L Section and then the rest of the crowd. She raises the mic to speak once more.*
[Eris:] "Face it. I'm your champion, and I am here to stay..." She lifts her free hand, placing her palm on the faceplate of her championship belt - the Amplitude Championship. It'll take more than a Jenna Stone or a Gutter to take this from me. It'll take more than any challenger Amplitude can throw at me, and the same goes for all of you over at Voltage who think you're some kind of A Show. The Goddess of Chaos has chosen her realm and taken her throne, and for all of you beneath me there's only one thing to say.
Bring it on!"
*With those words, Eris lets the mic fall from her hand, sliding out of the ring and heading up the ramp with the Amplitude Championship held high.*
Match 1 - Firefly vs. Heather Heaton
Firefly comes to the ring first, looking determined but also rather quiet and stoic. After getting beaten by Heather at O's TV, using her own finisher (the back roll neck lock), she is all business. Heather saunters to the ring, blowing kisses to the fans and, seemingly, herself! (new technique!). She apparently wants to start the match in amateur wrestling style as she has gotten down on all fours and is inviting Firefly to mount her. Firefly shrugs and kicks push her in the stomach to knock her on her ass and we're ready to go!
Firefly gets the upper hand using her unorthodox brawling techniques of punches and headbutts. Heather is concerned with the sanctity of her own face and covers up, only to get kneed in the stomach for her vanity. After a few minutes of Firefly trying to secure her finisher early, she manages to latch on the back roll neck lock only for Heather to have seen it coming and rolls further into it, breaking free due to the momentum and then taking control of the match for herself. Heather immediately begins working on Firefly's legs, hoping to take away her speed advantage and some of her offensive arsenal. It appears to work as Firefly can not escape this assault and also becomes vulnerable enough so Heather decides to use her "Lust Lock" (Gorilla Press). Firefly reaches the ropes and breaks the hold, but her legs are hurting a lot now. Heather goes to grab her head but gets tricked and is rolled up for a 2 count. Despite an early scowl, she then laughs at Firefly's ingenuity and by now, Firefly is back up to her feet. The two go back into the center of the ring and apparently are challenging each other to some competition of holds!
Heather lets Firefly start first and she attempts a back roll prawn hold, which Heather escapes at the 2 second mark. Then Firefly gets up and lets Heather put on a la Majistral hold, also a 2. Firefly goes for a running hurracarana and Heather barely escapes this one and perhaps wouldn't have if Firefly's legs were at 100%. Next Heather grabs Firefly from behind and...wait, no roll-up, she just kissed her! She just kissed Firefly from behind! Firefly is livid and Heather is laughing!
Now Heather is being chased around the ring by Firefly but this has a bad effect on Firefly's leg. Heather goes over to take control, but wait...Firefly just faked needing to rest!!
Firefly grabs Heather in a side body lock and appears to be going for Heather's own "Heat Of Passion" (Complete Shot). Heather tries to block and counter it but Firefly reverses the momentum to turn it into the Gannosuke Clutch!! Heather is stunned by the change and ends up gets pinned due to Firefly's ingenuity! She 'saw' Heather's use of her move in the last match and 'raised' her one in this match!!
Firefly (O) [Gannosuke Clutch- 14:00] (X) Heather Heaton
And as each have a win, the stakes have now risen as well!!
Firefly goes up the ramp with a smile on her face but still is noticeably limping. Heather nods at her in the ring and rolls her eyes, before smiling and blowing her another kiss.
Match 2 - Team Chuu Chuu (Yuri/Yaoi) vs. Sako Dasumi/Hae-Won
Team Chuu Chuu come to ringside in a cheerful manner and the fans are happy to see them. But Sako and Hae-Won are none too pleased and grab a microphone.
[Sako:] "What the shit is this?"
[Hae-Won:] "We kill off our old Army and now have to face more fan girls?"
[Sako:] "Para para dancers are like one step below fan girl, actually."
[Hae-Won:] "Carter better get on the ball and get us some real competition."
Team Chuu Chuu is shocked by the barrage of words only to get stereo elbows in the face by both Sako and Hae-Won. The noses of Chuu Chuu are now bleeding. Things are not off to a good start for the fan favorites here and what follows is a complete street style beatdown of striking and stomping. The ref (Fry) tries to get control but seemingly can't. Just as he's about to rule this a no contest, finally Hae-Won goes to the apron and allows Sako to go one on one with Yuri, but at this point, there's very little left in Chuu Chuu's tank after that quick, brutal, and uncalled for surprise beating.
Yuri tries to connect with kicks but they just bounce off Sako. 'Hiromi' was always the strongest of KENTA! Army and Sako Dasumi has put on even more muscle since showing her true self and she appears invulnerable to Yuri's offense. She also is laying into her with knees to the back and other back-wrenching holds, before slamming her down with a very high backdrop. She goes for the pin but only gets a 2. Still, the concentration and purpose on her face is clear - this is not your grandmother's "Hiromi".
She tags to Hae-Won who eviscerates Yuri with a barrage of kicks to the stomach and face. All the while, Sako is holding Yuri's hands back for the full target. Hae-Won hurls Yuri into the corner and just starts slapping the hell out of her. Yaoi jumps in but the ref tries to reason with her to go back to the apron, saying that the 2 on 2 scene early in the match was less violent then the single attack is now. Yaoi goes back as Hae-Won blows snot rockets to her across the ring. Then she trips Yuri with a judo throw and wrenches back on her neck in a rear chin lock, driving her knee into Yuri's back.
Yuri screams from the pain as Hae Won relishes the reaction. Many of the fans who were still wearing KENTA! Army merchandise have now removed them in disgust.
Hae Won lets Yuri up and lets her tag. Is it a 'hot tag' if the opponents let the tag happen? Whatever it is, Yaoi is grateful and unleashes a pent up attack on Hae-Won, who appears to be laughing the moves off. She grabs Yaoi by the hair and then runs with her to the opposite side of the ring, throwing her above the ropes. This is viciousness we never even saw from Shino. On the outside, Sako grabs Yaoi and hits her with a huge backdrop! Yuri mounts the little energy she has left and jumps onto Sako who catches her before spinning her around into a side slam type maneuver. She then rolls Yaoi back into the ring where Hae-Won is crouching...waiting...to crush Yaoi with a RUNNING YAKUZA KICK TO THE FACE. 1..2..3.
Yuri/Yaoi (X) ["Won-Ton Kick" (One Ton Kick) - 12:00] (O) Hae-Won/Sako
Medics help take Yuri and Yaoi out. But luckily they both regain consciousness and are able to leave the ring on their own efforts. Hae-Won and Sako just leave, looking disgusted and spitting at fans who are yelling at them. Oh how the Army has fallen...(and uh, got considerably stronger and more dangerous in said falling. Hmmm...maybe falling isn't the word I'm looking for here )
Match 3 - Lina vs. Jeska Rose
Jeska walks to the ring as many of the fans in L section yell "This match was changed! Where's Minerva?!" The rest of the fans roll their eyes as L section fans take our their cell phones and start texting...likely to the internets. Lina comes out and it takes a few seconds for the L section to realize she's there as they're still texting with looks of indignation on their face. Lina manages a: "uh...Hello? Fans" and they come alive for her, a little too alive, as she blushes a bit when many of them take off their shirts showing their Lina paintings. On their chests. Women too. Lina...backs away up the ramp and gets into the ring.
She goes to shake Jeska's hand but Jeska turns it into an armbar and it looks like we're off to an inauspicious start for Lina. As Jeska works on her arm, Lina seems to be covering her ears, and that's because the fans are shouting so loudly for to rally. She kicks Jeska's legs out and then goes outside the ring...is she going for a weapon? That would be unlike her...and it isn't her. Instead, she takes out a little box where apparently there are cotton balls that she stuffs into her ears!
She gets back into the ring and begins beating on Jeska with her usual dizzying array of punches to the face and stomach. Jeska has no answer to the assault other then to fall backwards and try to cover up. For those without the benefit of ear cottons, the L section has broken out in a rousing version of: "L-I-N-A - what does it spell? LINA!! U-B-B-L-E - What the F is it!? UBBLE!" Lina cringes a bit, managing to hear enough of it and then she goes after Jeska who is crouched in the corner. Lina stomps a mudhole into her and then irish whips her to the other corner, slamming into her with a lariat! Jeska falls down and Lina runs the ropes...5 Knuckle Shuffle! But Jeska catches her arm and drives Lina's elbow into the mat!
Jeska retakes control and uses an array of elbow and shoulder targeted offense. She even ties Lina up in the middle of the ring with an especially painful jujigatame which Lina has to get to the ropes to break as she's unable to fight out of it or reverse it. The fans are wetting themselves trying to rally Lina but she is doing her best to keep focus and fight back. The opportunity comes when Jeska goes up top for a moonsault but Lina pops up to her feet and uses her good arm to clock Jeska in the back, causing Jeska to fall onto Lina's shoulders. Lina re-positions her then...BAM...Terrace Cracker right in the middle of the ring!!
Lina (O) ["Terrace Cracker" - 13:30] (X) Jeska Rose
Lina takes the cotton balls out as she hears the cheers and then shakes her head and puts them back in. She goes up the ramp, shaking out her arm, and heads backstage.
Now we come to the main event. Chanel and Lorelai come to the ring with very serious expressions on their face, especially Lorelai. She is giving Chanel a lively pep talk, even pushing her a bit to provoke an intense reaction. Chanel, for her part, clearly knows how important this match up. Then the music hits for the longest running OG-Joshi Tag Champions ever, and J*NiGHT come out. Even though they lost the titles at Illumination, their heads are in the game tonight. And this is the first time these two teams will have met in the ring. The fans are on their feet for what is sure to be a memorable encounter.
Match #4: Chanel Melendez/Lorelai vs. J*NiGHT (Jenny McLanahan/Kaori NiGHT)
