OG-Joshi Amplitude: May 2010 - "Cinco de Mean-O"
Location: Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.
Three Amplitude within a Six month period? Someone had too many Meanoritas.
(Kids, don't drink and write. Adults, don't drink and read.)
ATTEN-HUT!
"General Mean" Jean Carter slowly walks down the ramp with a small shopping bag. She is wearing a black sports jacket over a white shirt and black pants. The fans don't know whether to cheer her or feel bad due to the "Deer in headlights" expression she has. She takes a microphone and slowly walks into the ring. After clearing her throat, causing some mic interference, she takes a deep breath and smiles as she looks at all the fans, especially young ones with excited expressions. A sense of calm coming across her face.*
[Jean:] "Illumination."
*The arena lights get a bit brighter and Jean blushes a bit, looking up at the tech crew, before laughing.*
[Jean:] "No, no, not you guys. Thanks! But I didn't mean that. I've decided that Illumination is the name of the next OG-Joshi PPV! It's time we brighten things up around here and cast light on what has made OG-Joshi so great for the past five years. And I wanted to talk about exactly that for a second. Last month's Voltage should have been a gala celebration. It was the 5 Year Birthday of OG-Joshi! Instead, well, you all saw what happened. But I'm not gonna let that stand...
*Jean pulls out a "Happy Birthday OG-Joshi hat" out of the shopping bag and puts it on her head*
[Jean:] "A late birthday party is better then none at all! On March 18th, 2005, OG-FPD held a PPV called "Murderers Row".. I know, I know - I didn't pick the name. But on it, the first EVER OG-Joshi match was held - for the OG-Joshi Championship - between Holly, Jo Ryder, and the victor of the match, Dizzy. It was a great match and started things off on the right foot. Here, this is the logo of the first show:
*Jean takes a flyer out of the shopping bag and shows it off. A copy also appears on the Orochi-Tron.*
[Jean:] "So it's a little over five years later and time to talk about the future. And that brings me back to Illumination. I know things have been tough around here but I wanted to ensure you that we have more wrestling action planned then ever before. I want every fan and wrestler walking out at the end of Illumination to be proud of what we do: and I've got six matches to show exactly why they should be.
*Jean points over to the Orochi-Tron where a six matches are shown*
1) World Championship: Kat Black vs. Holly vs. Visper Karr (c)
2) Amplitude Championship: Jenna Stone vs. Winner of Eris Bryne/Lina
3) Tag Team Championship: Reed Sisters vs. J*NiGHT
4) Last Woman Standing: Lana vs. Narai Kaeo
5) Alicia Gordon/Haley Cannon vs. Jill Chambers/Juli Krieger
6) Molly Cule vs. Sandy Morton
[Jean:] "Five years ago the World Title was introduced, and in just a few short months, the Amplitude Title will be debuted. I'm excited about that and everyone here should be. You know, I picked tonight to make my first speech cause I got my first official OG-Joshi job being the host of Amplitude. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever be here in front of you as the General. It feels surreal but I'm ready. And just to let you know, we may have even more PPV matches by the end of the night. I have my eye on a few people who may need to settle stuff in the ring. And you never know what could happen outside the ring either - that's how Molly and Sandy got involved in some kind of "extra curricular" tussle recently."
*Jean then looks back into the shopping bag and takes a deep breath again.*
[Jean:] "I just want to say one last thing. There's a word which acquired a lot of meaning the past few years: 'General'. And I just don't feel comfortable using that word. There are so many reasons but above all, it's not me. It's not who I am or how I envision running things. And it's not even that accurate. See, Geese *crowd boos* ... Mr. Orochi Geese owns this promotion. He's the authority. Me...I see a group of girls in that locker room who don't need more language of authority, they need language of support. They need someone who's gonna push them to be their best and not let them get caught up in negative emotions.
They need a COACH."
*Jean takes her sports jacket off (to some hoots and hollers) then reaches back into the bag. She pulls out a t-shirt and somewhat awkwardly pulls it on over her existing shirt.*
[Jean:] "Call me Coach Carter for now on. I'm here to help every one of you reach your potential. But that means you gotta want to play your hardest and follow the rules. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to bench ya for your own good and for everyone else's. Let's work as a team here, OG-Joshi. Let's show what this promotion can do. If everyone tries their best, we can be even better then the best together. The Champions will be our MVP's but every single one of you can make this a better place. Even the fans. And hopefully I can live up to my promise as well. But to do so, I need to get out of the playing field and let the wrestlers do what they do best. So OG-Joshi, Amplitude...Game on!"
*She takes out a whistle and blows it. The crowd gives her a tremendous ovation and she looks genuinely touched by it, a tear rolling down her eye. She nods and walks back down the aisle. One of the participants in the next match, Naomi, comes out and meets her and gives her a hug.*
[Naomi:] "I WILL DO BEST FOR YOU! COACH ALLOW ME PIZZA SNACK NIGHT SOMETIME AFTER BIG GAME!?"
*Jean smiles and pats Naomi on the shoulder and walks backstage. Naomi gets into the ring and begins stretching. Then Keina comes out, accompanied by Shino. Naomi has a hurt expression when she sees them but Keina doesn't appear any happier. She gets into the ring with a mic*
[Keina:] "NOMI PLZ I DIDNT WANT TO HURT YOU! TIGLESS MASK WAS BAD INFRUENCE!"
[Naomi:] "NO! SHINO IS BAD INFRUENCE! SHE NOT ROVE KENTA LIKE YOU! SHE REPRACE KENTA!"
Shino kicks the microphone out of Naomi's hand, causing Ayame Yamato to come out and even the odds. It appears we'll have each of them on the outside backing up their chosen wrestlers.
Match 1 - Naomi vs. Keina
These two are extremely tentative to start things off. As angry and disappointed as Naomi is in Keina (and perhaps vice-versa), neither are ready to make the first move. Shino is screaming her head off for Keina to initiate here and give Naomi some "tough roving" (and man if the crowd isn't into THAT prospect....). But Keina once again shows that mental toughness and starts crying. Naomi joins her. They hug.
[Keina:] "RET'S NOT EVER FIGHT AGAIN!"
[Naomi:] "WHY YOU MEAN TO AYAME!"
[Keina:] "I WAS CONFUSED!"
[Naomi:] "WILL YOU APOROGIZE!?"
[Keina:] "OK I WILL OK OK!"
SURPRISE...no violence!! Yeah that WAS a surprise, wasn't it? Just a simple handshake. Ayame shrugs her shoulders, confused of what to do next when Shino makes it easy for her. She charges the ring, with Hiromi following from backstage and clocks Naomi in the face with a running yakuza kick.
For her part, Keina looks shocked. Whether she's a good actress or legitimately concerned, it's hard to know. But Naomi has been knocked out and both Hiromi and Shino are attacking Ayame! Keina actually pushes Shino back at one point, getting a hard slap to the face for her troubles. But this gave Ayame just enough time to dislocate Hiromi's arm and then hit a distracted Shino with a flying knee. Hiromi and Shino bail from the ring, leaving Ayame trying to help Naomi up. Keina just stands in between both groups confused as security and medics come to the ring. Perhaps not the start Coach Carter hoped for?
Match 2 - Chanel Melendez/Lorelai vs. Team Chuu Chuu (Yuri/Yaoi)
Chanel comes to the ring in good spirits, looking legitimately excited for this match as she gets to test her high flying abilities against two of OG-Joshi's most agile, nimble, flexible...*gulp* wrestlers. However, Lorelai appears irritated and even rolls her eyes at her two young, relatively unaccomplished opponents.
Chanel starts the match and settles in for some fast paced action against Yuri. It's clear both are enjoying this, as are the crowd. But Lorelai grows impatient and begins stomping on the mat to get Chanel to pick up the pace. She does just that, taking control of Yuri who then tags out to Yaoi. The two have Chanel trapped in the corner and even attempt their rare ""Double Supreme Chuu Chuu Slam!" (Double Spanish Fly) but Lorelai comes roaring across the ring, grabs both Chuu Chuu members by their tights and slams them down hard on their backs and necks. She then paces across the ring and demands that Chanel tags her in.
Chanel, already in some trouble, does just that. Lorelai comes in and well, Chuu Chuu is decimated here, ritually taken apart piece by piece by an absolutely stoic Lorelai. She uses her array of ban-worthy neck drops and scintillating strikes to tenderize her opponents in ways even the audience is uncomfortable with. Chanel finally tags herself in not so much to get a piece of the action but to allow her opponents to rest and make sure they don't have neck injuries from the beating that Lorelai just administered. After Lorelai convinces Chanel that her opponents are ready to wrestle, Chanel's speed is too much for the injured Chuu Chuu to cope with. Lorelai fends off Yuri while Chanel defeats Yaoi with the Jade Fusion (Gory special pin)
Yuri/Yaoi (X) ["Jade Fusion" - 14:00] Chanel/Lorelai
Lorelai walks back with an expression-less face as Chanel stays with both opponents until medics arrive. Luckily Chuu Chuu walk back on their own power but not without some struggle.
Match 3 - Tigerfly Sword vs. Gabriella Breeze
Tigerfly comes to the ring to a big round of applause. Her efforts since joining OG-Joshi has rallied the crowd in her favor. But she has a very tall order in front of her, and not to shabby on the width side either. A furious Gabriella Breeze just about rips the curtains off the entryway as she stalks towards the ring. She was all fun and games when challenging Tigerfly Sword at the last Amplitude but when Sword and H. defeated Gabi and Valencia at last week's O's TV, Gabi decided to stop playing around.
And she makes that perfectly clear as she throws Tigerfly across the ring immediately. It's not as if Tigerfly didn't see this MASSIVE mountain of a woman coming towards her but her strikes had no effect on this leviathan, this 67th wonder of the world. Gabi is unfazed as she clobbers Sword around the ring. It's not until Sword gets a kick clean to Gabi's THROAT that she's able to finally slow her down. And even then, a move that could put a smaller, lesser woman on the injured list JUST slowed her down. Sword uses the opportunity to immediately go for the legs, showing her ring acumen. But it's hard enough to lift Gabi's legs, let alone to put any kind of meaningful hold on them. Gabi is soon able to shake Tiger off, literally kicking her 3 feet into the air in a modified, already seated monkey flip maneuver. (Think Ryu's leg throw but already seated with like 300 extra pounds and much less mobility).
Tigerfly flies up and over the ropes but is able to somehow grab onto the post, swing herself around and 'skin the cat'. She goes up top and hits a huge moonsault onto Gabi...bouncing off her stomach. Perhaps not a great decision by Tigerfly as this did more damage to her then Gabi. But enough damage was done to Gabi's leg for her to be a bit slow getting up. Tiger uses the opportunity to run the ropes and kick her in the face, similar to how she did at the last show after she defeated Valencia and Gabi challenged her. The kick had about the same effect here, bouncing off Gabi's face and proceeding to wake her up more then hurt her. Gabi then grabs Sword by the throat, through the legs, and choke slams her. She goes for the pin and this may be over but Sword miraculously kicks out at 2.9. Sword immediately hits a low dropkick and this time, rather then running the ropes, she goes up top and hits a diving foot stomp ON Gabi's head!! The crowd goes NUTS for this and Sword grabs the pin but only gets a 2.9 count. And as one would expect, Gabi is furious. She yells out - "F*ck that Chun Li sh*t" and hits a massive lariat on Sword, sending her inside out. A Helion Breeze follows and puts this match away. Lesson learned - no "Chun Li sh*t".
Tigerfly Sword (X) ["Helion Breeze" - 13:30] (O) Gabriella Breeze
Match 4 - Teresa Tanaka/Xouxou Chen vs.DARKNESS! Diva/Yoyo Banzai
Teresa and Diva started for their respective teams. Yoyo acting similarly to Lorelai from earlier in the night, not wanting to see Diva wrestle a straight up match. But unlike Lorelai, Yoyo's opponents had far more momentum then Diva and Yoyo do tonight. When Yoyo finally did get into the ring, she was met with Xouxou Chen who may have been even more stoic then Lorelai! Many opponents have been intimidated, tricked, or manipulated by in some way by Yoyo but Xouxou was not even remotely impressed by Yoyo's attempts to throw her off her game...or off her KNEE which is what Xouxou attacked throughout the match. However, Yoyo did have more success against Teresa and riled her up from the apron enough to get her to want to tag in. However, Xouxou was not going to allow Yoyo to get away with this and clocked her in the head with a roundhouse kick! Yoyo was so stunned that she careened backwards into the corner, Diva tagged herself in, and well, she didn't fare too well. She ran right into a Judo Lock (neck and arm submission) and with Yoyo out on her feet, decided to tap out before she took any permanent damage.
Teresa/Xouxou ["Judo Lock" - 14:10] (X) Diva/Yoyo

Eris and Lina have a history of blowing the house down on Amplitude after their first match but this one may have even topped that one. The fans are on their feet after seeing this PPV quality match and even though Lina lost, even her section is cheering at what was absolutely one of the best OG-Joshi matches all year long. Eris looks quite satisfied at the reaction and saunters backstage while Lina stays in the ring to soak in the cheers. Though she does look dejected that she lost, she knows she just made a statement tonight. And my guess is, her fans will know exactly where to discuss that statement.
And we're coming to you next at OG-Joshi Illumination sometime this summer! You better put some sun tan lotion on or else you'll get burned by the brightness of our
