OG-Joshi Amplitude: February 2010 - "And many Ample returns!"
Location: Peter Venkman Memorial Arena, NY.
A capacity crowd here to watch the return of the formal Amplitude show. What does this roster of aspiring wrestlers have for us tonight to capitalize on their momentum from their matches on Orochi-O's TV!?
Firefly vs. Juli Tanaka
Firefly makes her Amplitude debut to a lot of cheers due to her performance on Orochi-O's TV. Juli and her each show their speed to start but Firefly's unorthodox offense quickly confuses Juli. However, Juli is very resilient and capitalizes on a missed top rope legdrop by Firefly. Juli takes over the match and works on Firefly's arms, almost making her tap with a jujigatame. Firefly rallies back and begins working on Juli's neck, eventually hitting a HUGE uranage as a shocking COUNTER to an attempted flying head scissors by Juli! The fans liked that one treating it with a special "Holy Spit" chant (at least what's what I thought they said). Juli is so taken back from the impact and surprise of the maneuver that she lets her guard down and is grabbed by Firefly into a back roll neck lock which ends the match at 9:30 as Juli taps out.
Pre-Match Promoage
Naomi (formerly?) of KENTA! Army comes out wearing her KENTA! Army shirt. She says that she fully renounces SHINO! Army but wants to be friends with Keina and still loves KENTA with all her heart of hearts. But she no longer will be pushed around by people who say they love KENTA only to control others. That's not real KENTA love. Not the kind she feels in her heart, soul, and body. (!) Naomi then says that her friend Tigress Mask was hurt and de-masked by Shino and that made her sad. And that she hopes Tigress will return. She asks for everyone in the audience to hope too. As the audience claps in support, a woman wearing a similar outfit to Tigress, but in black and gold comes out to ringside. Naomi hugs her and announces that this is the woman formerly known as Tigress Mask, Ayame Yamoto. Ayame is here to wrestle without the mask and she hopes for the crowd's support. Yoyo Banzai and DARKNESS! Diva come out, mocking the two maskless wonders and it looks like Ayame takes exception to such comments.
Ayame Yamato vs. DARKNESS! Diva
Ayame immediately takes down Diva and it appears that she is every bit as dangerous without the mask as with it. Diva is completely confused as to what to do, apparently assuming that Tigress Mask was some kind of spirit that possessed Ayame to win. However it's clear from Ayame's utter domination in this match that her skills have not been reduced and she may be even more motivated to prove herself after what happened with Shino. Diva taps out frantically to a rear naked choke at the 7 minute mark and Yoyo drags her backstage, scolding her the whole way. Naomi celebrates in the ring with Ayame.
Post-Match
Hiromi and Keina come out with a microphone. Keina looks embarrassed and is having trouble making eye contract with Naomi but Hiromi is yelling at her and Ayame that they need to respect SHINO! Army. And that she is giving Naomi one more chance to come back. Naomi shakes her head no in a defiant manner, and is then attacked from behind by a huge kick from Shino, knocking her out. Ayame is furious but at this point Hiromi and Keina have come down to the ring and it's a 2 on 1 against Ayame with Keina standing off to the side blushing. Finally, General Celes storms down to ringside and they retreat. The medics attend to Naomi and help her regain consciousness. She appears to be ok and is helped backstage by Ayame to cheers.
General Celes promo
General Celes expresses her dismay at SHINO! Army's actions but is proud of Ayame and Naomi for their behavior. She makes a match for the two of them to face Hiromi and Shino at the next Amplitude. Now she has a big announcement to make. It is finally time for this great brand to have an exclusive Championship to compete for. While tag teams are able to fight for the Tag Team Title, like the Reed Sisters are a step away from doing, there has been no singles title for Amplitude. And so she is announcing a four wrestler tournament that will occur on the next two shows. Tonight's main event will determine the wild card entrant and will be a triple threat between Kristin Blade, Gutter, and Patty Sirloin. The winner faces Jenna Stone at the next show. And the following show will have Lina face Eris Byrne after their fantastic previous matches. The final match will occur at the PPV to crown the new Amplitude Champion. She thanks everyone and believes that this year Amplitude will reach new heights and thanks Jean Carter for her help with this roster.
Chanel/Lorelai vs. Teresa Tanaka/Xouxou Chen
This is the rubber match after both teams had victories over each other on Orochi-O's TV. As a result, each team is careful here to start as they have gotten a feel of their opponents and what they are capable of.
Teresa and Xouxou grab early control due to their combined quickness advantage but as soon as Lorelai tags in, the match completely changes as she lays into Xouxou with pure aggression. Just as she has in previous matches, she dominates with her stiff strikes and vicious suplexes. Even Chanel is trying to get her to "tone it down" cause of the neck-related impact of her throws but she's not having any criticism of her style. However, that same stubbornness is just causing Teresa to start rallying the crowd on the apron. Lorelai sets Xouxou up on the corner for a avalanche neck drop (1/3 Cerberus) but Xouou actually rolls with the throw and flips over to her corner in an incredible display of athleticism! She tags in Teresa.
Lorelai is still getting up from her attempted suplex and is easy prey for a dropkick followed up by a Flying Squirrel (Frog Splash). This only nets a 2 and Lorelai manages to then fight Teresa off enough to tag Chanel back in. Both Chanel and Teresa have a lot of energy and continue trading manuevers as time begins to wind down on this stipulated 30 minute affair. The ending comes as Chanel doesn't notice that Tanaka actually made a tag during a rebound post move but still hits the Jade Fusion (Gory Neckbreaker) on her as she lands. As Chanel is stuck doing her own move, Xouxou grabs her out of it and puts her into the Xcbitionist necklock! However, Chanel doesn't tap and keeps conscious in the hold until the bell rings!
Post-Match
Both teams exchange handshakes except for Lorelai who walks away muttering something about wanting a decisive victory here. Looks like she hates Time Limit Draws!
Tigerfly Sword vs. Hiromi
Hiromi is back but she's looking less confident here against someone who's gathered some momentum on Orochi-O's TV. Hiromi tries to use her power game but she can't even grab Tigerfly due to her frequent striking. Hiromi is frustrated and gets a bloody lip from an errant elbow from Tigerfly. This allows Tigerfly to amp up her own offense with her own variations of suplexes and before you know it, Hiromi is being kicked in the face and stomach multiple times from a vicious combination. Hiromi has no idea what to do and just falls to the ground, covering up her face, hoping the assault will end. Tigerfly shrugs and hits a perfect rebound moonsault onto her for the victory at the 12 minute mark.
Post-Match!
As Shino drags Hiromi backstage and Tigerfly is celebrating, three women dressed in gold and purple come out. It's Avalon Porter, Gabriella Breeze, and Valencia Cruz - the Royal Deities! Avalon gets a microphone and remarks how sad it is that Tigerfly Sword's mentor, Silent Sword in the UBL, is missing and that she and her boyfriend Julian Caesaro have been 'all broken up' about it. Gabriella laughs and say Tigerfly is about to be all broken up too. The three storm in the ring but Valencia first eats a high kick from Tigerfly! Cruz is then heard to scream: "My face, my beautiful face!" Sword does her best but Gabriella and Avalon neutralize her and begin to rough her up, culminating in a huge double powerbomb from the two. Finally, help arrives in the form of H. from NiSan Dan and Firefly who run off the Deities with chairs.
Kristin Blade vs. Gutter vs. Patty Sirloin
Gutter and Patty are at each other's throats the entire match. It was about a year ago when the two engaged in a weapons-heavy brawl that Gutter won. Patty hasn't forgotten and is basically ignoring Kristin, a mistake that catches up with her via flash-pin attempts on many occasions. However, Gutter keeps breaking them up because she thinks flash pins are for suckers and because this is a 1 fall match and not under elimination rules. This doesn't stop Gutter from going outside after she's double powerbombed to get a weapon! But in that time, Kristin Blade almost gets a 3 count on Patty from a particularly tight victory roll. But Gutter breaks it up with a stomp after she's warned that a chair shot will disqualify her. Patty eventually takes control of this match due to her sheer size but at times Gutter and Kristin team up to ensure that Patty is still able to be pinned at some point. This match begins its ending when Patty throws Kristin into the corner, runs and splashes her, causing Kristin to roll out of the ring to safety as soon as she hits the ground. Patty then attempts the same thing to Gutter but as Patty runs to the corner, Gutter jumps backwards onto the post and leaps just enough to grab hold of Patty's head! Gutter then propels herself off the turnbuckle to hit a swinging Gutter Cleaner DDT for the win at 16 minutes!
Gutter has earned her way into the 4 woman Amplitude Title Tournament!!
Post-Match!
The show ends with Jean Carter running down to ringside, looking the happiest she has in weeks, congratulating Gutter and raising her hand in victory. Gutter, for her part, isn't looking as celebratory but rather is scanning the crowd in a somewhat paranoid fashion.
We'll see you soon with the first match in the Amplitude Tournament - Jenna Stone vs. Gutter!
