*We open up to General Celes' office where the good General is going through her usual mass of paper work. Just then (as if it couldn't have happened 10 seconds before) the door opens abruptly and we see Alicia Gordon and Thunder Strike walking into her office. Celes frowns*
[Celes:] "It's so hard to tell the difference between you and your enemies when neither side knocks."
[Alicia:] "We don't have the time to knock."
[Celes:] "Really? Is the building on fire... 'again'? I think not. We only have room for 1 fire drill per month, if you don't mind. And frankly, if you don't 'have the time' for a simple courtesy now, it saddens me to think of how rash, reckless, and unaccountable you two will act when there actually IS an emergency."
[Thunder:] "Do not change the subject."
*Celes folds her hands on the desk and flatly smiles*
[Celes:] "I was unaware you broached one."
[Alicia:] "The Cease Fire."
[Celes:] "Now that wasn't so hard, was it?"
[Alicia:] "Hmmm..."
[Thunder:] "What is it?"
[Alicia:] "She uses the same tone to me as she does to Holly."
[Celes:] "It is only similar but it is heading in that direction. Now, if you have something to say regarding the Cease Fire and wish to use self control to stop yourself from meandering to other topics..."
[Thunder:] "Why didn't you sign the Cease Fire, General?"
[Celes:] "I was the executor of it and in order to ensure my impartiality and it's subsequent legal affect, I did not sign it as a member of Orochi Army or, either party to the agreement, for that matter"
[Alicia:] "Someone else could have administered it!"
[Celes:] "And yet no one raised any issue with me doing so at the time. The entire thing WAS my idea, after all, and both sides appeared quite content with the plan in the situation presented to you."
[Thunder:] "You being author of the agreement doesn't remove suspicion of you. It may increase it."
*Celes laughs in a mocking tone*
[Celes:] "Now? NOW you are suspicious of me? If there was ever a time for you to trust me more in regards to Geese, it is now. Have you not paid attention to what is going on between Clyde, Figaro, myself and Geese? Or does the world truly revolve around you to the exclusion of all other people, even if those people may actually agree with you in some ways. Is it truly you against the world?"
[Thunder:] "I have always been suspicious of you. But yes, more so now then ever due to the public nature of your alleged quarrel with Geese. This could all be a ruse to lull us into a false sense of security."
[Celes:] "You should know more then anyone that when Geese doesn't want a matter to be discussed privately, that the only way is to make it public. You did the same to him two years ago on Voltage after failing to contact him privately, if I recall. And secondly, we did not aim to even make it public. There are cameras all around these arenas and sometimes backstage discussions are captured by them. I never understood why the wrestling profession was so susceptible to that..."
[Alicia:] "As the OG-Joshi General, you could have stopped it from being broadcast."
[Celes:] "It happened after a UBL show in the UBL part of the building."
[Thunder:] "But certainly Clyde could have detected and stopped it-"
[Celes:] "We didn't NEED to stop it from being seen. There is a difference between going out of our way to make it public and being ok with the fact it was made public. We have nothing to hide-"
[Alicia:] "Then where are you originally from."
[Celes:] "I stand corrected. We have nothing of relevance to hide."
[Alicia:] "It's relevant to me."
[Celes:] "Says the woman who has spent the last year of her life being instructed by a brusque, boorish, and mysterious man whose real first name is still not known to her, among other details such as..."
*A small hint of a frown flashes on Alicia's face and Celes drops the matter.*
[Celes:] "I have told you before that Clyde, Figaro, and myself have never lied about our intentions here. We came to help Geese and we do not regret that initial choice. But it is clear that he has changed in his attitude towards others and most importantly, in respect to us. And if he does not address and correct that, then we will leave. If you think this is some elaborate ruse to fool you and your allies, I must say that you have an inflated sense of self worth in how you fit into our goals and life."
[Alicia:] "I..."
[Celes:] "No, no 'you'. This isn't ABOUT 'you'. Or Thunder Strike. Or the rest of your ragtag J, period, U, period, S, period, T, period, leave us alone, period, group. My friends have our own agendas and we have made it known to everyone. We have never lied about it in the past so there is no reason to doubt us now. We helped Geese against you, Thunder Strike, when he treated us with respect. As that appears to no longer be the case, what you will do to Geese at the conclusion of the Cease Fire is not our business. However, if he realizes the error of his ways in his treatment of us and makes it right, then we will continue to defend him against you. Is that a clear enough statement of our intentions?"
[Thunder:] "Crystal."
[Celes:] "Our relationship to you solely depends on Geese's reaction to our grievances. Either he does nothing, causing us to leave and never see you again, or we continue to support him and will have to find ways to make the conflict just, even if you don't wish to do so. In the latter case, the Ceese Fire will still stand, and in the former it is of no interest to me either way."
[Alicia:] "If it does stand or for ever long it does until it is broken, since you already admitted you would work with Geese if he apologized, don't you agree you should sign the Ceese Fire?"
[Celes:] "If things change, I mean REALLY change which I doubt, I will sign and bind myself to the agreement and we will find a new executor: Someone who is completely neutral to both sides and who we can all agree upon. Until then, it is of no issue. And I've been nothing but honest and forthcoming."
[Thunder:] "I guess only time will tell if that is the case."
*A voice from behind the curtains speaks*
"Don't question her honesty or integrity."
[Thunder:] "We already knew you were there, Clyde."
[Clyde:] "Irrelevant. When this is all over, you'll apologize to her."
[Thunder:] "When that day comes, I'll see that I do. Until then, my guard remains up. And if you two are telling the truth, I suggest you put your guard up too. Geese is the most dangerous to those close who have, in his mind, betrayed him. And I have no doubt he is planning something horrific for you three."
[Celes:] "Thanks for the advice, you have already been a useful case study in his betrayal to past allies."
[Alicia:] "Let's go, Thunder."
[Thunder:] "Yes, our business is done here, for now."
[Clyde:] "If there's a next time, do make an appointment."
*Thunder and Alicia leave the room and shut the door*
[Celes:] "It's really getting quite boring around here."
[Clyde:] "I doubt we'll be burdened with it for much longer."
*Celes nods and gets back to her paper work.*
[Celes:] "It's so hard to tell the difference between you and your enemies when neither side knocks."
