Lessons in management

[OrochiGeese]

*General Celes is wandering the halls of the Peter Venkman Memorial arena on Sunday afternoon joined by "Mean" Jean Carter who has a notepad and is wearing a very diligent expression.*

[Celes:] "And you're sure you don't want to discuss what happened? I know you are a big fan of Diz-"

[MJC:] "I'm sorry, I just can't now. I just wanted to come here for my weekly management lesson."

[Celes:] "Ok, I understand. What happened was hard for us all to face and-

*MJC quickly interjects again and opens her notebook*

[MJC:] "Ok so what do I do in case of fire?"

[Celes:] "Stop, drop and roll?"

*MJC feverishly writes that down...then pauses...then sees Celes smiling*

[MJC:] "OH MI GAWSH! You made a joke!"

[Celes:] "It's been known to happen amongst good company in necessary times."

[MJC:] "I'm honored!"

*MJC writes "in good company" down on her notepad*

[Celes:] "Really, Jean, you instinctively know a lot of the basics of running OG-Joshi from an administrative standpoint. It's dealing with talent that is the hardest part."

*Just then, Keina and Naomi run up to them in a panic*

[MJC:] "Yes, General, I think I already see what you mean."

[Keina:] "CERES!! WE WERE WALKING IN HALLWAY WHEN A WOMAN APPROACHED US AND ASKED FOR OUR PHONE NUMBERS! WE THINK SHE IS STRANGER AND WANTS TO INAPPROPRIATELY TOUCH!"

*Celes puts her hand on her face and sighs*

[Celes:] "DID she touch you?"

[Naomi:] "SHE TRIED TO SHAKE MY HAND!"

[Keina:] "THAT IS Naomi SPECIAL AREA!!!"

[Celes:] "As I said, Jean...it's just a matter of showing the talent that you can take care of their well-being and concerns. Let's find this "toucher"..."

[MJC:] "Was it a female Goose? Cause if it is, I'm going home early."

[Naomi:] "NO GOOSE! SHORT WOMAN FROM JAPAN ISLAND! THAT WHERE WE FROM!"

[Keina:] "ALSO, SHE JOINED BY BAD MAN!!"


*Before Celes and Jean get a chance to dismiss them, a woman accompanied by UBL Sergeant Drake Yoshida turns the corner. Keina and Naomi scream and then run away. The woman is middle-aged with a big smile and is wearing what appears to be some odd hybrid of a kimono and a business suit.*

[Celes:] "What are you doing here, Yoshida?"

[Drake:] "Now, now, I come in peace. I'd like to introduce you to an old business associate of mine, Asak-

*The woman smacks the back of his head with her open palm*

[Drake:] "uh, I should say...Miss Asako Matsuki."

[Celes:] "Matsuki? You're the manager of Narai Kaeo, aren't you?"

*Asako bows and smiles again*

[Asako:] "Yes, very good memory."

[Celes:] "And you know Yoshida?"

[Asako:] "Drake and I go way back, I'm friend of family. I gave him his first job. Too bad he still an idiot."

*Asako hits Drake in the back of the head again but Drake just flinches. Celes smirks*

[Celes:] "Well, Miss Matsuki, I am General Celes and this *points to Mean Jean who waves* is Jean Carter. I can only assume you have been brought here to discuss your client's employment."

[Asako:] "Yes, I want to bring my champion Narai to OG-Joshi, but i heard there is a hold-up?"

[Celes:] "You have requested that she begin on Voltage but all new wrestlers start on Amplitude."

[Asako:] "Ahh yes, you keep mentioning that. But Narai is not new to combat, she is Muay Thai Champion!"

[Celes:] "Has she ever stepped into a wrestling ring before?"

[Asako:] "She has been in many rings and beaten many opponents with her Muay Thai. She is the best fighter in the world and can already beat any wrestler!"

[Celes:] "I respect your confidence in your client but I must-

*Just then, OrochiGeese walks around the corner. He puts on his best fake smile and walks over.*

[Drake:] "Miss Matsuki, let me introduce you to the REAL person in charge here, OrochiGeese."

*Geese shakes Asako's hand*

[Asako:] "It is an honor to meet you, Mr. Geese. Drake has told me many great things."

[Geese:] "The pleasure is mine, Miss Matsuki. Now, I must confess to overhearing the predicament here. I'm afraid that my General does not quite understand the caliber and fame of your client, Narai Kaeo. However, I am no stranger to the Muay Thai circuit and I believe Narai will fit in just FINE to Voltage."

[Celes:] "She has never wrestled ONE single match, Geese."

[Drake:] "I'm sorry Miss Matsuki, she does not realize the incredible opportunity of having an international champion on OG-Joshi's most recognizable, but struggling brand. Unfortunately, Celes is the only one here that has no business acumen...well, except for Jean but I'm going to be her mentor."

[Asako:] "Ha! You!? Her mentor!? If she makes half as many mistakes as you did when you first started...."

[Celes:] "Geese-"

[Geese:] "In the interest of a fair business deal, I suggest what we do is this. We give Narai a 'trial run.' If she manages to have success on Voltage, she can stay there. If she struggles, then she can benefit from wrestling against other newcomers on Amplitude as she learns the ropes, if you pardon my pun."

[Asako:] "A very wise idea, Mr. Geese."

[Celes:] "I won't be held responsible if she gets injured cause she isn't properly prepared."

[Asako:] "What!? You think someone can HURT Narai Kaeo!? This is a great insult!

*Everyone looks a bit tense but Jean Carter is the first to attempt to handle the situation.*

[MJC:] "No! I mean, please Miss Matsuki, I think there is a misunderstanding! I think Celes just meant for you to know that there are a lot of mean wrestlers around here that team up to TRY to injure others. And she just doesn't want to see that happen to your client-"

[Asako:] "It is not my fault if Miss Celes can not handle policing her own promotion."

[Celes:] "This really isn't the week to make such a statement. Just ask Geese-"

[Geese:] "Yes, I think what the General is alluding to is that she has been under a lot of stress due to recent events so perhaps I should handle the paperwork with Miss Matsuki. Thank you for your input, Celes, Jean. Drake, lead Miss Matsuki to your UBL office and I'll stop by in a few moments."

*Drake does just that as Asaks scowls at Jean who sticks her tongue out in response*

[Celes:] "As always Geese, it's a pleasure having you completely override my decisions. On the plus side, at least Jean got a lesson today in what is in store for her managerial integrity when she takes over."

[Geese:] "The pleasure is all mine, General, and Jean's lesson is free."

*Geese smirks and walks away*

[MJC:] "So...will that be on the test?"

*Celes looks quizzically at Jean for a few moments until MJC blushes.*

[MJC:] "Sorry. So uh, should we find KENTA! Army and let them know they're safe?"

[Celes:] "After dealing with Geese, Drake, and that woman, KENTA! Army might not seem so difficult."

*They continue walking through the hall in the direction of loud talking*
