Re: September Voltage, upcoming shows, PPV
There is little I can say to convey my disappointment at the finale of this weekend's Voltage. Blame falls on so many parties, including myself, for Dizzy ending up the way she has and for making the decisions she had made. I can only hope to move forward from here because I simply do not wish to force anyone to revisit those memories right now. And we now have more work to do then ever before to live up to our ideals.
One such ideal is keeping the innocent out of harm's way. As such, sometimes it is necessary to filter the flames when such flames arise. Nicole Dramesi has been given a contract in OG-Joshi. This was not an easy choice but a necessary one to provide protection for those in OG-Joshi not in her direct path. Whatever Dizzy's ultimate task for her, it is clear whom Nicole's immediate victims are to be. And so, as part of an immediate post-show deal with her, she will be allowed to face Juli Krieger at the next PPV. However, if Nicole attacks and injures our champion, Holly, before her match with Visper Karr, Nicole's PPV match and contract will be voided. As for the rest of the roster, there will be increased protection for you courtesy of Genji Security...and myself, if necessary. I will not back down from protecting every single one of you. Mr. Figaro and Mr. Clyde have also pledged their intentions to protect you from this new monster.
However, it will take more then just intentions, but your own assistance and awareness to ensure your safety. I will not sugar coat this, Nicole Dramesi is the single most destructive force that OG-Joshi has ever seen and if you end up in her path by design or accident, you will not emerge the better for it. What happened to Krieger was a preview. We are all in danger and so we must respond with increased vigilance and banding together: Both through numbers and spirit. It is essential we do not give up the values that makes this promotion great, the very values that Nicole's messenger, herself, once stood for. On that note, if Azumi Oonishi is reading this, I would very much like to have a word with you as soon as possible.
Onto some happier news as there were wrestlers on Voltage who decided to remember their purpose here and competed in front of our audience. My sincere appreciation goes out to Lana and Haley Cannon, as well as to J*NiGHT and even the Dods. Lana, if you continue to compete at that level and with the dignity that you showed, I'd give you a title shot before anyone that appeared at the end of the show. You've learned and shown more by the way you lost to Haley then by any victory our current champion has ever stolen.
Back to J*NiGHT and the Dods, it is increasingly clear that Jane and Polly Dod mean business in that ring. I am placing them in a match with another variation of J*NiGHT at the next show. If the Dods are successful, they will receive a shot at the OG-Joshi Tag Championships at the next PPV against Jenny and Kaori.
Alicia Gordon's attack on Lori Cuozzo has resulted in Lori's hospitalization. We are not sure how long Lori will be out with her neck injury but it will likely preclude her participation at the next Voltage. Thankfully, she should be back in time to team up with Crimson Mask to face Kat Black and Kim Cross in a tornado match. I've never said this before and perhaps never will again...but we have witnessed a night where Crimson Mask did the helpful thing and Alicia Gordon was the savage. There is little more I wish to say on that.
For those that have wondered as to the contract status of Narai Kaeo, it is currently being handled. It has been difficult to negotiate with the demands of her manager, a Miss Asako Matsuki. But I have full confidence we can get Narai competing in OG-Joshi very soon, perhaps even at the next show.
Finally, the match between Visper Karr and Holly for the OG-Joshi World Title is not very far away. Therefore, it would be prudent to begin looking for a new #1 contender. As our fans may have noticed, we do not offer "guaranteed" or "immediate" rematches to champions who lose their titles or challengers who fall short in their quest. Only in such a case where a decision is under questionable conditions do we provide a rematch for either competitor in a title match. When Haley Cannon was defeated for her title, it was in a triple threat match and she actually was eliminated by Jo Ryder. As such, Haley received a title match against Holly later that year just so we could provide a decisive finish between them. If Holly and Visper have a match where the outcome is clear and noncontroversial, then no automatic rematch will take place. The loser of that match will have to climb their way up the ladder as so many in the past have had to.
And so, I have been looking through the Voltage roster to determine who could qualify as the next #1 contender. This has been a very difficult analysis. We have so many skilled competitors, so many with excellent records and momentum that is is hard to choose just one, or even two. That is not to say no one stands out, but too many do. I consider that a good thing for OG-Joshi but it has made my current task a bit more difficult. So I am going to do something that we have not yet done before:
At the next PPV, we will be holding a Battle Royale where 8 of our top wrestlers will compete for the chance to become the new #1 contender. I will announce the names of those competitors at the end of the next Voltage so as to give myself one further show to confirm or change my preliminary list.
Mr. Clyde and Mr. Figaro remarked at the end of Voltage that everything has changed. I believe that is the case. And I also believe we have the power to change things for the better. Those with the right attitude will get and give much more in their time here. Let us keep that in mind as the PPV approaches.
