*Camera starts and we see OMG Champion Ruby "QUARTZ" Moreno standing in front of a LAWL banner. She is wearing her Generation NEON outfit and has her LAWL OMG Championship Belt wrapped firmly around her waist...which the camera is zoomed fully in on until she snaps her fingers*
Ruby: "The champ is HERE"
*Ruby points to her head as opposed to her waist*
Ruby: "Everything that has made me Champion and the best in the world is on top of my shoulders. You all may lust for what is below them but I am here to talk about more important things then even MY body."
*Ruby clears her throat and regains her composure*
Ruby: "It is said that great matches have a timeless quality: one that can be enjoyed by any person in any period. From the reviews that I have been hearing about my match with Jo Ryder at LAWLiday 2006, that timeless sentiment has been applied to us. But as much as I enjoy the compliment...as much as I am even honored to share it with someone the caliber of Jo Ryder, I think that it is inadequate. While our technical skills were of such high quality to bring that match among the best in history, while our struggles and tenacity INSPIRED everyone watching it....there is more to be said, MUCH more."
Ruby: "Time, after all, does not stand still. And while right now everyone is saying how important that match was and how great it will be to watch at any time in the future, they are missing a KEY point. That match might be timeless, but it also had a CRUCIAL and unforgettable role in the progression of time."
Ruby: "Because in that match, what was once the "future" of pro wrestling...became the "present." After LAWLiday was over, there was not a soul in that arena who claimed I was JUST the future of pro wrestling anymore. With my ePIC victory over Jo Ryder, I became the PRESENT. The NOW. The BEST of the now. And while I had already known that, it took that night to prove it to you all."
Ruby: "Before LAWLiday 2006, I was seen as a fluke, an anomaly. A wrestler that rose quickly to prominence from out of nowhere to gain a Championship that itself seemed to POOF into existence. And while that assessment was simply false, there were those that believed it, and hated me for it. They did not like the "story" of someone like me...someone of pride who has been accustomed to getting whatever I wanted....winning such adulation and attention based on my "quick" success and achievements."
Ruby: "So my critics decided to downplay the value of my achievements rather then applaud my great skill and ease in reaching them. They did not want to believe that someone could reach such heights in such short time. Of course, that was their folly. Anyone that has followed my career before LAWL went public knows what I went through to reach the top of the LAWL mountain."
Ruby: "But those in the national wrestling media...those cynical fans on the internet just coming across LAWL for the first time..they refused to believe I was as good as I said I was. However, they also understood that I was making waves in the wrestling world and they were too insecure to be left out of the discussion. So they made themselves look good while limiting me with their praise. They said I was "the future". On first glance, that is a compliment. But anyone who has ever been called "the future" knows the GREAT insult directly implied in that statement. Even when it is said in good faith, it means that you aren't good enough YET." And coming from my critics, it meant I never would be."
Ruby: "But that all changed at LAWLiday. They were no longer able to doubt me. Because by beating one of their favorites, by beating an acknowledged LIVING LEGEND in Jo Ryder, I proved that my achievements WERE credible. I proved that my path to success WAS legitimate. I proved that my skills and abilities ARE genuine. And, most of all, I proved that I AM...CURRENTLY... THE best wrestler in the world today. "
Ruby: "And as little interest as this holds to me, my victory over Jo even helped prove LAWL's credibility. If the Champion of a miscreant group of fruits and vegetables could beat Jo Ryder, maybe LAWL isn't so crazy after all. Not that I care...as we all know I made the OMG Title, it didn't make me. But I do expect LAWL to treat me and better now that I have established the credibility of their Title and promotion."
*Ruby's serious expression turns into a proud smile*
Ruby: "After all, as much as Marie and Gloria Reyes may hate me, even THEY have to admit I carry myself with the dignity and class becoming of a Champion. *Ruby smirks*..which is more then I can say for how ANOTHER so called Joshi Champion carries herself. Maybe THAT is why so many OG-Joshi wrestlers are running to wrestle in LAWL. If Grace Reyes wants LMAO to succeed, she should just try to switch Holly in for me. I doubt any "outsider" would want anything to do with LAWL if SHE was champion here."
Ruby: "Speaking of other promotions, I AM sorry to hear about the closing of McPro: even though Generation NEON never REALLY got the chance it deserved to show what we could do there. Had one of us been chosen by McLanahan to represent the passion of McPro, I guarantee McPro would still be standing."
Ruby: "But if you want my opinion...and I KNOW this will end up on the dirt sheets by morning...*Ruby rolls her eyes* I think the Orochi Army had something to do with preventing us from getting the opportunities we deserved. After all, they felt naturally threatened seeing their glory days pass while a new, far superior army rose to take its place. For the record, I don't believe for a second that Orochi Army killed McPro. But I do believe they would have tried to if they saw us taking their positions of former prominence. I guess they just got lucky we didn't have the chance...this time. But it's a big world, and I'm sure we'll see them in the future. *Ruby smirks again* And then, just like at LAWLiday, the "future" will become "the present."
*Ruby winks, rubs her OMG Title, and walks out of the scene as the camera fades*
