I just realized we never had a "RP Discussion thread" here. Oh well, could have come in handy! But I'll just use this thread.

I cross-posted this on the FPC but felt that it needed to be said here too regarding Visper Karr's most recent RP

But seriously...wow. This is why Visper has been Jean's favorite wrestler for so long. She just gave the competitor version of Jean's philosophy. She just fought for OG-J even after many have called it dead. She just gave it a new beginning and put into more then words the spirit of Immortal.

And she put aside all the other distractions too. She could have commented more on Holly or Ruby but she just cares about OG-Joshi and its spirit

That said, I did like her calling herself the Guiding Light of OG-J as a dig on Ruby. But she also made herself the guiding light of OG-J with this RP

It's sad to me that one of Visper's best RP's ever come right now...but it's also a great honor and very personally satisfying to me that this fed could go out with this kind of passion. (Passion even overshadowing UBL's right now!)

That's really the best I could ask for right now ...well, short of a lottery win and all my free time back to keep writing the feds :oops:

Truly excellent work here and this really makes me think of how OG-J will do more then survive in Ruby's hands with this declaration from Visper 8)

The old edit pack is offline. But I'll probably be posting an updated edit pack this summer. And I figure all of you already have the old public pack from last year so it's not a big deal that it's not online right now. If by some chance you are one of the few who are reading this who don't have that pack (or lost it), you're probably in contact with me anyway so you can easily get it

I really don't know what I'm gonna do with this place in the long term. But in the short term, I intend to at least keep maintenance on it for those who want to go back and read the shows or copy their bios from here to other feds. And while the bulk of O's Zone show discussion is on the FP Arena, I don't feel right not posting those shows here as well. They belong here, after all. And in the off chance I decide to ever get things going again, I'd like to at least have this place available. Plus, I can think of a few RP's (actual canon RP's) that I may be posting later this year. Kind of a "what are certain people doing" a year after everything ended. Those belong here

It feels weird not checking this place every day. (and walking into a virtual ghost town when I do check it). But with each passing week, I do believe I made the right decision to finish things up. Even right decisions sometimes feel weird at times though.

I hope those of you who are watching O's Zone shows are at least getting some enjoyment out of them

I've been giving this a lot of thought. And now it's time to talk about it.


Ideally and practically, it's time to hang up my e-boots. I've done more here (with my feds and with PW-W/FPCPP/etc) than I've ever imagined. Regardless of how my RL goes at this point, I now have the same mindframe that Elwood had a few years ago. I understood why he felt it then but I didn't yet share his desire to move on even though I knew that one day I would. I am now. Well, I was 8 months ago but I wasn't ready to admit it to myself.

Thing is, I also believe in ending OG-FPD the right way. You don't play with a toy for 10 years and then just throw it in the trash. You put it away properly so that other people can then play with it intact AND so that later you can look back on it with closure.

Introducing OG-FPD: Omega Road

It's a road because it's more than just one destination. A week or so ago I was thinking of just doing one more 12/13 Anniversary show this year and calling it quits like with OG-FPD Immortal. But the more I thought about it, I realized that there's no way I have the time now to even build to a show like that in a way that would make sense. It's too much work to shepherd story lines for that one big show. And since one of the main reasons I'm ending things is because I don't HAVE the time (or energy, or will) to write all that much in a short period of time, it would be foolish for me to attempt it. I'd either fall short and have a shitty build and show or take way too much time away from what I need to be doing now.

The good news here is that OG-FPD isn't ending NOW. The bad news is that I do plan on it ending. The slight good news is that perhaps I find a new way to approach my feds in the time it takes me to complete Omega Road, and then realize that I actually CAN continue things. See, that's my not so secret lie to myself...that maybe "Omega Road" is only the end of the road for my traditional/current approach to e-fedding. Maybe I don't have to burn it all down for money closure and progress. But in all likelihood, by next December at the latest, the OG-FPD will be over. But there is a chance that, sometime over the next year, my mind changes and I keep storylines going. Don't count on that though.

Now, I mention "letting other people play with my toys" above. When I'm done, I'll be giving some of my edits to those handlers who have booked them in their own feds. I'm fine with sharing too. I suspect FPRG and Zealot will each want to use RYOMA. If someone wants Saji (and not just to take him out back and shoot him :lol: ) that can be arranged too. SOME of my characters will be officially retired (Orochi Army, for example) but a lot of other guys and gals and veggies have full careers (and far off expiration dates) ahead of them. I'd much rather that some of you guys use them then basically put them in the ziplock bag that would be a barely used edit pack. I'll pass edits off to who I want using them. Maybe I'll hold a draft for the remaining ones I don't mind being used.

It's likely, though not 100%, that when Omega Road does officially end OG-FPD that I may be done with e-fedding entirely. I may pass off or retire Saji and edits in other feds before that. I don't have plans to leave the community but my time will likely be limited as it has been recently. As long as the majority of my long time friends are still here, I want to be here too, even if we're all kind of busier than we used to be or want to be.

Also a note: The plans I had going forward with a lot of you are now pretty much fundamentally changed. A few of you though still deserve and can have closure for your characters or current story arcs (Corey O'Brian, I'm looking at you. We're still a go on that, Raven). But from this point on, I'm going to be focusing primarily on the larger story arcs that I had been cultivating over the past few years which are basically: 1) Orochi Army vs. Destiny, 2) UBL vs. Destiny, 3) OG-Joshi & LAWL co-existence. I can't guarantee that even a guy like Kurt Sanders (who I invested a lot of time into) gets a nod from me as we go forward. I'm probably going to start things off with a big storyline RP and go from there. I'm going to be flexible in how I tell the story. Think more "Geese Funeral" (before Immortal) and less traditional Voltage/Circuit show storytelling with matches. We may not have another official match in a while. It's going to be a lot of RP's from this point on.
