Re: Participants in the OG-Joshi Tag Team Title Tournament
Greetings OG-Joshi and congratulations again to those of you who wrestled impressively at Unleashed and this past Voltage. Competition is more intense then ever in OG-Joshi so continue to do your best and you will be rewarded. As I announced this past weekend at Voltage, you will have yet another Championship to shoot for, the OG-Joshi Tag Team Titles. And I am here to announce the participants in the Tag Team Tournament.
Team 1: HAWT*Wing: Diane "Dizzy" Cavuto and Azumi Oonishi.
Team 2: Kat Black and her Dragon Isle Joshi ally, Angelica Hyde.
Team 3: Kaori NiGHT and Jenny McLanahan. Apparently these two have patched up their differences enough to take part in this tournament.
Team 4: Lana and Lisa Robinson.
Team 5: Yoyo Banzai and DARKNESS Diva...as she calls herself now.
Team 6: Representing KENTA! Army: Keina and Naomi.
Team 7: The debuting Reed Sisters: Melody and Harmony.
Team 8: Haley Cannon and a partner of her choosing.
Team 9: Jo Ryder and a partner of her choosing.
Team 10: Holly and a partner of MY choosing.
Now, as you can see, there are ten teams chosen for a traditional eight slot tournament. So what I have planned is for two Qualifying matches to take place to get us down to eight teams.
In Qualifying match #1: KENTA! Army will face the Reed Sisters. Giving the status of both teams, and all four wrestlers individually, as being rather new to competition in OG-Joshi, it is only fair to the other more established wrestlers in the tournament that one of these teams prove they belong in the First Round.
In Qualifying match #2: Jo Ryder will be facing Haley Cannon and both of them will be allowed to choose their own partners. The reasons for this match are two fold: One, Haley and Jo would like another match with each other after what we saw at OG-Joshi Unleashed. And two, each of them ALSO want a shot at Holly. The winner of this tag match qualifier will go onto face Holly's team in the First Round of the Tournament. I am rather sure that which ever team wins this qualifying match will have the chance to "even" things up with Holly and the partner I choose for her. So, in essence, these two teams will be fighting for the right to punish Holly as well as the honor of competing for the new OG-Joshi Tag Team Championships. But don't worry too much Holly, I'll be sure to pick a "suitable" partner that matches your style to watch your back.
Now, if you will take a look at the OG-Joshi Autumn Schedule, you will see WHEN both the Qualifying and first round matches occur. We will be having a special show on September 10th for the Qualifying matches. Then the first round matches will resume along the regular Voltage schedule and will lead up to the Tournament Finale on December 13th, 2006: The OG-FPD 3 Year Anniversary Show.
If Holly and her partner are unable to make it to the Finals, then I will be requiring her to defend her OG-Joshi World Championship at that show. If Holly and her partner DO manage to somehow slither by their superior competition...i will STILL require Holly to defend her OG-Joshi World Championship. After all, Holly...you say you're the best, right? Well then you should have no objection to being made to prove it again.
To all those in the OG-Joshi Tag Team Tournament, may you do your best and honor the Title through your competition and desire. The harder you all fight for it, winners AND losers, in this tournament and afterwards, the more it will mean to everyone. You have all proven over the last few months of tag matches that OG-Joshi should have a Tag Championship. Now it is time for each of you to PROVE you deserve to hold it.
