Re: Azumi Oonishi's condition
This has been a rough few days for OG-Joshi and especially Azumi Oonishi. For those that witnessed the events of this week's Voltage, in regards to Azumi, we apologize for what you saw.
Azumi Oonishi was attacked by...well, we still don't know WHAT attacked her. We don't know WHY it attacked her. All we know is that it wasn't sanctioned by OG-Joshi. In fact, the attacker is not even a wrestler in OG-Joshi. She ran in from the crowd, did horrific things to Azumi, then ran out through the crowd before anyone could stop or apprehend her. Despicable and cowardly behavior, no doubt.
What we also know is that Azumi Oonishi suffered a mild concussion and multiple lacerations on her face. She has been in the hospital since Voltage, and she has quite a fever due to the shock and trauma of the situation. The doctors have not listed a date when she will be released as they feel its best for her to stay in a calm environment now. We encourage all of her fans and fellow wrestlers to send her letters of support.
We have fired the security guard responsible for that area of the arena. While Azumi does not seem to blame us, we still will be paying her hospital bills. Say about OrochiGeese what you will, but he takes care of his talent. Needless to say, he is extremely angry about this situation. If he happens to find the attacker before the police do, Azumi will be avenged in the cruelest "eye for an eye" justice possible.
We are currently attempting to question everyone who was present at Voltage. Let me make it clear that we are not directly accusing anyone of being involved in the attack or being an ally to the masked assailant. BUt we do need to speak with anyone that had a connection to the Azumi/Kat wrestling match that preceded the attack. We have not been able to get in touch with Kat Black. Kat, if you are listening, we need to talk immediately. You know how to reach me, I suggest you do so soon.
OG-Joshi will be doing our best to ensure this type of thing never happens again. We are a wrestling promotion and focus on in-ring competition pursuant to specific rules that our contracted participants consent to. While it is true that they put their health on the line and risk injury everytime they enter the ring to wrestle, it is because that comes with the job. But they do not voluntarily give up their safety from criminal actions such as the one that victimized Azumi Oonishi. That is unacceptable for everyone involved in OG-Joshi.
I will keep you updated as to Azumi's health and the ongoing status of the investigation.
