Re: OG-FPD 4 Year PPV, etc.
First and foremost I'd like to congratulate those who achieved victory at the OG-FPD Anniversary PPV, especially Visper Karr, Kat Black and the new OG-Joshi Tag Team Champions: Jenny McLanahan and Kaori NiGHT. All of you and your opponents in your respective matches put on quite a show and made the OG-Joshi portion of the PPV memorable for all the RIGHT reasons. I salute you all.
A final copy of the Voltage and Amplitude rosters can be found online. While the best efforts will be made to ensure the identity of both shows through their consistent rosters, there will be occasional cross-over and transfers. The schedule for the upcoming months for both shows will be put online within the week.
Diane "Dizzy" Cavuto will likely never wrestle again. And I only say "likely" because I do not care to say "never" out of respect and admiration for her great spirit. But the consideration for the last few days has not been about her stepping back into a wrestling ring, it has gravely been to stabilize her body in the hopes that she may some day even walk again under her own power. In fact, it will take months for her simply to get out of her hospital bed to even be able to get into a wheelchair pushed by someone else. We have been witness to many heinous injuries in OG-Joshi, but this simply is beyond the scope of them all.
While not to take anything away from any of the other wrestlers on the roster, it has been my observation that Dizzy has probably been the popular wrestler in OG-Joshi in terms of fan support. She has also amassed quite a show of respect over the years from those in the lockerroom capable of having respect. So I would like to send a request that all of her fans and peers send as much encouragement as you can to her. Do not mention getting back into the ring, right now she just needs any positive energy you can give her.
What is further unsettling about this situation is that the founder of HAWT*Wing had to fall to the circumstances that occurred. HAWT*Wing stood for all the right things in OG-Joshi and to see the group end this way is disheartening for even the most emotionally bound people.
When I approached Holly after the situation had happened, she made points that I am unable to refute. While I had never intended Juli Krieger to permanently hurt Jakob Furis, and am glad she did not the fact remains that I had no concern for Furis' well-being when I chose him to face Juli in the UBL vs. OG-Joshi match. Just as Holly had no regards for Dizzy's well-being. What this means is that if I was to suspend Sandy, Juli, and Holly, I would be branded a hypocrite for punishing them for something similar that I did.
However, that label, although disheartening, means little to me if it stops me from doing the right thing NOW. The fact is that I did realize the error of my ways once Holly pointed it out to me. I find it extremely hard to admit that I learned something from her, but I would find it even harder to deal with this situation happening again if I didn't admit to it. The difference between Holly and I wasn't just, as she said, that she could sleep at night with horrors on her conscience. That is, by the way, not a virtue. The difference is also that I learned from it and attempted to take steps to fix the situation. Rather then choose to plan and lauch a retaliatory physical assault on Holly, I decided to settle the situation through peaceful means.
But those means were impeded and outright prevented. And I learned something else in the process. When I attempted to suspend all three of the perpetrators, the OG-Joshi World Champion called in a favor from above in the form of OrochiGeese. He is the owner of this promotion and so his word is effectively the law. He vetoe'd my suspension attempts giving the simple reason of "because I say so."
I considered handing in my resignation but realized that, if I left, I would be putting too many good people here at OG-Joshi in danger. There is no doubt that Orochi Geese would replace me with someone who would be more ill fitted then I to make the proper judgment calls, even if I no longer have a perfect record, myself. And while it still is a source of confusion as to why exactly OrochiGeese keeps me on, knowing our interests run counter to each other, I will not let that stop me from doing what I have to do. Dizzy was injured on my watch so it is only fair that I take on her mission. To protect not just the competitive spirit of OG-Joshi as I have tried to do, but to give maximum protection to the well meaning wrestlers themselves. HAWT*Wing is not dead, Dizzy, it has now been made a primary goal in my operations here. And any mission that I am on happens to be shared by our two commentators, as you actually got a preview of when Mr. Figaro valiantly came to the aid of Kat Black and Kim Cross after their match. More on that later.
But Dizzy's core beliefs require a little something extra that she was not a believer in. Due to the fact that Geese has made me unable to fire or suspend the three biggest troublemakers in OG-Joshi, I am left with two choices. Either I appease their every selfish whim and make them happy enough so that they will never be SO violent again (We can immediately brand that choice as irrational) OR I can add the beliefs of one other unfortunate victim in this situation, Alicia Gordon. The beliefs of attacking the problem at its source.
Where Alicia Gordon often faltered was by substituting her own emotionally-based vengeance for getting the job done. I will not do the same. Holly, Juli, and to a much lesser extent, Sandy, need to be taken out to prevent future attacks rather then taken out to attain revenge. Blind rage can NOT win this war. Alicia was more about revenge then she admitted to herself, and that hurt blind rage hurt her judgment at times. However, her actions in no way caused Dizzy's injuries at the PPV.
I have not heard from Alicia since the PPV. She is now in a state of turmoil, as described by Thunder Strike when I attempted to reach them. I do not believe what happened to Dizzy to be Alicia's fault. Mr. Figaro was actually insightful on commentary for a change and opined that Juli would have hurt Dizzy even if Alicia had run to help her from the start. Any guilt Alicia may feel in delaying her choice is understandable, but, ultimately, not relevant. She was tested but each choice led to the same outcome outside of her control.
I would hope that Alicia take some time off and come back with a stronger perspective on things. I have promised Visper Karr the next OG-Joshi World Championship shot and I firmly believe that she will defeat Holly, something Alicia was about to do before Dizzy was brought into the situation. That will not happen again. Visper will be assured a 1 on 1 match with no distractions. But I will also assure Alicia that she will get another shot at Holly cause there are few that WOULD do to Holly what I need Alicia to do.
I realize this appears to run counter to what I have said about adopting Dizzy's methods. But there is simply no other way. Holly and Juli take PLEASURE in bullying and hurting people even when they are not provoked or challenged. There can be no appeasement in this situation because, if they are left unfettered by me, it will just lead to the violence we seek to stop. We must do more and Orochi Geese himself has given me no other way. When Holly is eventually taken out, she can blame him as much as herself for what will happen.
Now, onto another matter. That of the return of Crimson Mask and Lori Cuozzo. OrochiGeese did not have any problem with me continuing Lori's suspension due to Mr. Figaro's disdain for her. And Crimson Mask never actually officially on the roster to begin with. So it would have been very easy for me to send them both away, but I won't. And that is because Kat Black and Kim Cross want payback for the attacks at the end of the PPV match. Kim was especially adamant about teaching Crimson Mask about respect. And Kat was eager to actually wrestle Lori, recalling Lori's proclamation last year that no one in OG-Joshi was good enough to beat her. Kat is. So I will be adding both of these matches to future shows.
Since the OG-FPD PPV, meant as the last event of 2007, was delayed, OG-Joshi's 2008 year got off to a late start. This is the fourth year of OG-Joshi's existence and we hope to continue to raise the bar in the things we have achieved and also fix that which needs mending. We have two new tag champions and Visper Karr poised to become one in the near future. We have an entire second roster of women looking to prove themselves and strive for a championship to be introduced this summer. We have much to look forward to and the resolve to accomplish what we must. No one will stand in our way.
