fade in on a Southern California park in the evening. this park is on a hill, and off in the distance you can see the coast and associated people and buildings that such a beach setting brings. on your right is the grassy kiting area - several families are set up and flying their kites. to the left, after a 'buffer zone', is a picnic and grill area, with sand covering the ground.
at front, however, is the subject of this piece, Lana. she's seated on a bench facing you in some of her standard attire - cargo pants, skate shoes, and a three quarterlength sleeve shirt. Her hair is pulled back into a loose small ponytail, and she's got on an amused smile. she stops wasting your time with my attempts to write a setting by deciding to speak.
[Lana]: I do love coming out here. It's always festive, and there's plenty of stuff to look at. Stays fun even if I'm just people-watching.
her gaze trails up, and camera tilts up towards the sky. slightly cloudy, and plenty of kites in the sky. a good day, indeed. camera refocuses on Lana, whose gaze is back at you.
I was thinking about the tag match, what I was happy about hearing when it was posted - Tigress Mask was paired with me, as we share similar fighting styles, and our hard-hitting moves are targeted at the same places. I thought that when I saw her name, and I knew that soon as I met with her pre-match.
We got along as athletes, and got a game plan together - it consisted of something like:
"I think we should just hit them in the head a lot."
"Sounds good."
"Can you do me a favor and try to put extra hurt on Yoyo's neck?"
"Yes, I can."
Strategy was almost unnecessary - everything one of us did would compliment the other. I did enjoy the pairing, and I think we worked well. Well enough to injure Yoyo, and for that, I am happy.
Lana waves at the camera, a dopey grin on her face.
[Lana]: Hey, Yoyo! Your fucked-up neck is my payback for spilling my drink those months ago. Remember that?
You probably don't. It was a petty offense. But, I hold grudges.
I admit, yeah, you won the match, but, who cares, right? Winning's in the mind, and I doubt you feel like a winner with a neckbrace on.
Cross - as always, it was nice dotting the eye, as per usual.
she breaks eye contact with the camera, and looks down slightly, before shifting her eyes up and to the left. She looks back into the camera.
Oh, and I just wanted to make an offer to a group of wrestlers here that boggle me - of course, I mean the ...KENTA ARMY!
that last part was yelled by Lana, and people around her stop, look at her, and then walk off shaking their heads.
[Lana]: I saw their pledge to everyone the other day - and I wanted to test 'em. I've been focused more on hurting then winning, so hey - maybe they can start a streak on me.
Lana grins.
So... Kenta Army, would any of you like to step in the ring with me? Any of ya will do. In fact, since you're all so small, you could bring a friend.
It'll be fun... whaddya say?
and on that, we abruptly cut to black.
